I was looking at replacing my filters and have the standard boxes. With the view of doing some mild tuning in the future 350-400bhp, are the standard boxes with K&N filters fitted good for this or should I look at going down the cone route?

Hi guys, Was out for a blast today and had issue. Was giving it some beans 6-7rpm in first and had Loss of power and a back fire out the exhaust. The car stuttered and yo yo' d with power cutting in and out, The car eventually died was chucking loads of black smoke out both exhausts. The car fired straight back up but won't idle . The car bogs down until about 3k then revs cleanly. Weird thing is I left the car for a bit (45mins) when I started it idled perfectly. As soon as I reved it up , it went back yo running like dog shit again. So far I have cleaned all the plugs as they were fouled. Cat started straight up and idled for 2 mins perfectly, …

Just looking for a bit of advise, went to see a 95 TT yesterday but there in no boost gauge,is that normal or possible? Also the dials and controls look like my previous 92 & 93 cars I've had in the past, should that be correct? Maybe I'm just being a bit over cautious. Other than that the car looked pretty standard and maybe worth a punt. Cheers, Mike

Anyone know which are the correct ones to get? The liners are completely off the car at the minute. I'm guessing the majority of holes take the push type fixings. Many thanks, Lee

Well after 3 years with no trouble from my heater, last night it decided to spring rather a big leak. (Forcing me to bypass it by the side of the road to get home). The usual routes haven't show up any for sale so was hoping someone more inlightened could point me in the right direction Thanks Jay

If anyone local wants to meet up, I will be there with my son for a couple of days. Was supposed to riding my bike for 2 days on track, but the circuit have cancelled the weekend trackdays due to expected 60mph winds and extreme weather :-( So I will be coming over in the zed instead, as the B&B couldn't be cancelled.

Hi All, I fixed a squeak on my rear brakes and took the Zed for a spin to check my handy work. JOB DONE! So I popped to a local meet for a tea and a road test. On returning to my car there was a pool of rusty water under the car with a hefty drip coming from the rear of the plastics under the car. Long story short, I topped it up, drove it home, checked again and topped up the water, ran the engine for 10 minutes then went for a spin..... No drippage?! Went for a drive to road test and spotted 6 Classic Minis, 5 Mustangs, 4 GMC Day Vans, 3 Camero's, 2 GT3s a series1 RS Turbo van. So jollied along with them who jollied along to a convoy of old cars just w…

So even though HMRC took their sweet effing time processing the parcel, I finally managed to get my hand on my latest purchase, the new WinFactory top feed fuel rail. This is a CNC billet fuel rail that has replaced the mk1 Winfactory rail that was made of steel tubing. Included in the kit is the rail itself, straps to hold it in position, a new throttle cable bracket, lower plenum adaptors and Injector Dynamics ID1050X 1065cc injectors and pig tails. Putting the rail together was incredibly easy After making up some new fuel lines to make my entire fuel system -8 bore braided fuel line and using Torques-uk fuel line AN fittings And m…

Seeing as the last couple of days have been predominantly doom and gloom around here, I thought I'd have a stab at cheering everyone up. Jimmer and I have been discussing a bit of a joint project recently. It's very much in the planning stages at the moment, but I think it could be pretty good if it comes off. There's been a lot of press coverage surrounding things like Sierra RS Cosworths and suchlike, and about how a totally pristine and original example is now fetching considerable money... ...soooo we're looking at building a completely standard 300ZX! Ideally a UK factory manual (seeing as people think they'll command the best prices in years to come) and m…

With my Zed's impending visit to the body-shop later this month, I am toying with a couple of small visual changes.... One being the wheels. Could someone please have a go at photo-shopping the centre spokes of my wheels to gloss black? I want to retain the polished rims though..... Thanks!

I have a 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo and need to replace the Sparks. I read that I only need to install NGK PFR6b-11b ones, but there are also 11c ones available and the Nissan garage says that it has to have the 11c types. Which one do I really need?

Looking to get my Z back on the road for spring and searching for some replacement front disks & pads. I have the old style, dark grey Ksport 330mm set Was wondering if anyone has compared the standard K-Sport pads to Ferodo DS2500s, as the price difference is huge? Also I assume I would need the 6mm>8mm bolt inserts? Will keep looking but unless anyone knows of anywhere different here are the cheapest I've found the discs so far : http://www.bigbrakes4u.co.uk/k-sport-brake-kits/ksport-replacement-2-piece-disc-rotors/k-sport-330mm-replacement-rotors/prod_496.html Pads (cheapest for both the K-Sport & Ferodo pads): http://www.dcperforma…
