I have removed the 99 spec spoiler from my UK 1991 TT in preparation for the fitment of a new OEM series 1 spoiler. The 99 spec had the perspex strip fitted ...which was cracked ...and broke while removing it .... I had always thought is was the non brake light version...as it didn't light....however on removal I noticed it 'was' the brake light version...but not working as there is no brake light harness in the tailgate !! :confused1: So...I'm assuming that a UK 1991 TT 'would' have had the centre brake light....so does anyone have a spare one for my nice new spoiler....and the harness to connect it!! ? No brake light harness! Spoiler f…

Had the zed 2 days and left the lights on 3 hours ago. I go to unlock the car using the hornet alarm fob and nothing.... no bleep. Now i haven't attempted to open the door because it's quite late and I'm worried the alarm will go off all night because the battery is dead. Any ADVICE? Shall I just try and open the door and start the car?

Hi all, my S4 TT has just failed MOT on emissions (which have never been a problem before). Before the test I went for a 60 mile blat up the motorway so she was nice and warm, but the CO reading was 3.9 - yes that decimal point is in the right place, the allowable limit is 0.2! Having a search through previous posts I tried disconnecting the two hoses by the balance tube, one at a time, and that dropped the reading to 2.0 but still 10x the limit. Sadly my car is just new enough that it has to have a post-Cat test not Basic Emissions. Just looking for suggestions on what to try next. I’ve got a new air filter arriving tomorrow and have found the instructions on …

The very last weatherstrip that I haven't replaced yet. Mine is actually in very good condition however I'm worried that it may have shrunk a bit and collapsed. Something I noticed when I fitted my new door and roof seals was just how much extra pressure is needed to close the doors and secure the targas. The reason I ask is that over rough road surfaces, my boot does rattle and vibrate a little. I have adjusted the catch as far as it will go, fitted new boot rubbers and checked the location points for the hinges, the condition and operation of the gas struts and all is in order. If anyone has replaced their boot seals, did you notice things were a little quiete…

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/used-car-buying-guides/used-car-buying-guide-nissan-300zx I was pleasantly surprised in how many accurate facts this writer was able to produce (however 'grey' imports are not a bad thing, they are really a good thing) And then I scroll down and see a familiar name, James Thomas. Good job on this fine article autocar.

So, got a call last week from a man who found out I had a few Zeds:innocent: Said he was clearing out his sheds, that he had a few Z32 bits and would I be interested in taking the lot off him:whistling: Called over on Monday to have a look and been debating whether or not to spend even more money in the "World of Zed" Anyways, here's what I found..... 1 x Red Jap TT manual, has tall spoiler, needs dash, carpet, full interior and an engine rebuild, as it has a knock. 1 x UK red rear bumper with fogs fitted. 3 x TT rear Subframes complete with diffs, drive shafts, hubs etc (can't recall if they've calipers attached). 1 x pair front calipers with GTR discs a…

This tip will without doubt help everybody who has to replace the heater matrix pipes at the rear of the engine, Sadly I had to try to do this rather confined job last week, I was not able to, hands are too big to get down the back of the engine, even extra long ,long nosed pliers did not help, So, plan B, call in the Genius I know as dad, What resulted is pictured below, A very very simple tool which enables to hoses to be effectively put into position and then pushed home onto the Heater Matrix barbs on the firewall. I suspect it can also be used easily for all hoses in confined spaces, The only thing that is not self explanatory is that you twist t…

Hooray!!! I've just had the call from Jim to say that my 300zx is ready for collection. It's been with Jim for almost 2 months and I've had good new and bad news along the way (had to charge the aircon 3 times before fixing all the problems). I'll be doing a full write up after I've collected the car but for now I just wanted to vent my excitement on the prospect of getting it back soon.

I was looking for a while before I decided to get my current car back on the road (its going to Jimmer's on the 29th next month) and I've wondered a lot about this car. I haven't posted a link as I don't want to promote the sale inadvertently(but I'm sure everyone knows the car).....just wondered what anyone thinks it'll go for ? It looks very clean but am I right in thinking if it achieves its guide price that'll be a new high mark ?

So after the disappointment of failing to fix my first red zed, I came across one on ebay a while back. After a bit of haggling, I was the proud owner of a rusty, smoking red zed! First thing was get it welded, My welding friend is a wiz, so he spend 3 weeks welding it up, making sure it was perfect. He has worked on these cars before, so knew exactly what to cut out and repair, he then waxed it, oiled it, protected it, etc. As long as I am careful, it should be good for many years he said! Next bit was getting it to quit smoking, as a smoker myself this is not easy! After buying several 50g bags during a Spanish holiday, I set to work. The block was fine, the h…

I was looking at replacing my filters and have the standard boxes. With the view of doing some mild tuning in the future 350-400bhp, are the standard boxes with K&N filters fitted good for this or should I look at going down the cone route?

Hi guys, Was out for a blast today and had issue. Was giving it some beans 6-7rpm in first and had Loss of power and a back fire out the exhaust. The car stuttered and yo yo' d with power cutting in and out, The car eventually died was chucking loads of black smoke out both exhausts. The car fired straight back up but won't idle . The car bogs down until about 3k then revs cleanly. Weird thing is I left the car for a bit (45mins) when I started it idled perfectly. As soon as I reved it up , it went back yo running like dog shit again. So far I have cleaned all the plugs as they were fouled. Cat started straight up and idled for 2 mins perfectly, …

Just looking for a bit of advise, went to see a 95 TT yesterday but there in no boost gauge,is that normal or possible? Also the dials and controls look like my previous 92 & 93 cars I've had in the past, should that be correct? Maybe I'm just being a bit over cautious. Other than that the car looked pretty standard and maybe worth a punt. Cheers, Mike

Anyone know which are the correct ones to get? The liners are completely off the car at the minute. I'm guessing the majority of holes take the push type fixings. Many thanks, Lee

Well after 3 years with no trouble from my heater, last night it decided to spring rather a big leak. (Forcing me to bypass it by the side of the road to get home). The usual routes haven't show up any for sale so was hoping someone more inlightened could point me in the right direction Thanks Jay

If anyone local wants to meet up, I will be there with my son for a couple of days. Was supposed to riding my bike for 2 days on track, but the circuit have cancelled the weekend trackdays due to expected 60mph winds and extreme weather :-( So I will be coming over in the zed instead, as the B&B couldn't be cancelled.
