The apple of my eye (let's hope my daughter doesn't read this!) is now safely at Powerzed. I delivered it last Wednesday to Jim and his initial positivity has been backed up by a strong compression test result so it's full steam ahead on the mechanicals. He was also very positive about the bodywork issues that, whilst to me seemed terrible, were not as bad as feared. We did have a very hairy moment when getting the car off the trailer.....as the drivers side rear wheel left the ramp it kicked it off the hook and I carried on oblivious until the front fell off the trailer and sat on its nose ! Some quick thinking and a handy trolley jack later I'm happy to say t…

I'm currently researching an alternator upgrade for my datsun and I came across the P12 Primera 2.2diesel alternator which is a 110amp unit with the mounting ears in the same position as the Z32 one, and the datsun one. It has a V groove pulley so would need the pulley to be swapped but it's bolted in so shouldn't be a big problem. Looks like the width between the ears is about correct too but I'm waiting on confirmation on that one.... Anyone else knows what fits? I've heard someone use a 350Z one?

Hi guys So my drivers side seat belt doesn't recoil as quick as I would like it to, I have to feed the last 150-300mm in. Can anything be done to bring this back to life or is it a new part that's needed? Cheers, Chris.

Or something worth saving. From the pics it doesn't look to bad and could well be worth restoring. Its parked up in Scotland (Skye) and if you have time and good with your hands then take a look. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300ZX-TWIN-TURBO-AUTO-UK-SPEC/112660252458?hash=item1a3b13072a:g:tAMAAOSwSutaHG38

Hi, After recently saying on here I dont want to modify mine in anyway I decided to buy some wheels! The car just looks a tad too narrow from a side on view with the stock ones on so I changed my mind! I've ordered some and then got a phone call from the place I bought them from to say they cant guarantee they will fit and its up to me if I want to take the risk!!! They said they might need spacing. Can you please advise if they will or not. Fronts are 17" x 8J X ET35 Rears are 17" x 9J X ET35 Thanks very much

It was stripped because of a noisy lifter, I have a spare head and turbo with the engine with good lifters in. The gearbox was fully working when it was in use but this is around 10 years ago. "

Following on from a previous thread about the red Z that failed at auction and the comments about classic cars..... I went to a classic car auction just very recently and was genuinely shocked to see that MOST of the entries were what used to be called Tetleys (Tetley Bitters) ! Much rust on display and a lot of them hadn't even been hoovered ! Very few were what you would consider immaculate/restored. They mostly seemed just tired older cars. The most surprising entry of the day was a 2004 BMW 640 Convertible.....not immediately considered a classic imo. It's appeal ? It used to belong to Tara Palmer-Thomkinson ! It was an interesting day out but…

Okay guys what's the consensus on this as im sure many 300's have this problem. Speedo works fine 70% of the time, then it drops to 0 and fires up to 180 then a couple minutes later the PAS goes heavy because the ECU thinks its on a go-slow. So two questions: 1) In my head it would make more sense that the signal from the VSS to the ECU is whats causing the problem (broken VSS, housing or wires), not the clocks themselves, as the ECU is throwing out the PAS based on the signal it's RECIEVING, not the signal it's SENDING out to the gauges. Does this sound correct? 2) Failing correcting this issue as I don't need a working speedo except for MOT time, is there…
