Please view the thumbnails as this is my ECU. I have always known it was John Dixon but I know nothing else about it. :blushing: It states TT Auto on it but mine is a manual. It mentions about cc on some stickers and writing, is this something to do with injectors? :surrender: There is an adjuster on the side, what does this do? Could peoples advise me further on it please? I would be most grateful. Andy. :balloon:

Is there anybody on here in the West midlands with Conzult who could help me diagnose and maybe fix my missfire? I'm completley new to these cars, let alone a big V6 engine, so i dont want to start taking things appart and breaking things. I'm in coventry, and the closer the better really, only getting about 150-170 miles to a tank atm :(

Im getting on to the rear bumper on my swb refurb and i would like to get rid of the side markers. has anyone done this, i guess the best way would be to plastic weld in some more material (i have a spare dead front bumper). i dont think fibreglass will be a good idea as im sure it will crack/sink Any ideas or should i leave well alone. btw im going for the smooth clean look- 99 spec front, no skirts, no spoiler, no rear wiper, no aerial etc. car will be plack so the paint prep has to be perfect.

  5. Started by RobH,

Hi guys, I'm about to install some of these and need a bit of advice on presetting them. The manual is in Jap and not really much use. I know roughly what length the rods should be set to but if anyone has any accurate data it would be appreciated. Am I correct in thinking I'm setting the minimum opening pressure? i.e. with a boost controller in use I will be able to make more boost than the actuator preset but not less?? Presetting to 1.2 bar would mean I was stuck with that or higher on a wet day?? Logically then the preset should be a more comfortable level, perhaps 0.8 bar... TIA RobH

Went out to the car this morning and it started up with a misfire ! Had the ptu off and cleaned all the injectors plugs off and cleaned! It seem like it's running on 4 if I pull one of the coil leads off it makes no diff and if do it on the other side it does nothing also?? If your stood in front looking at the car it's the first 1 on your left and I'm pretty sure it was the 3rd on the left that did nothing when pulled? Do they have limp mode when there's a fault and go down to 4 ? But I'm still stumped on what's causing the misfire help please :)

  11. Emerald stand alone engine management system on a Z32 is now a viable and working reality. All due to some research and experience by John Dixon following on from his successful installation of an Emerald system on his Nissan V8 engine. This also stems from my desire to move away from older generation fixed map ECUs and the neccessity of new chips with everything. So I bought all the gear with johns technical advice. John has made an adaptor loom which allows the use of the stock loom and ECU plug. He has also modified the Crank angle sensor(CAS) unit to accept a modified disc to allow the Emerald ECU to read it. Today was test n try day! First of all John helped id…

My car is 1991 300zx TT. Last day was a little heat. Then did not work. Fuel pump does not work. Does not make the car ignition. Probably tripped the security system. I stayed on the holiday road (A terrible situation) How do I close this security system? Thank you, Ozan

  19. Started by JeffTT,

Seen a few zeds again with the wrong type of fuel pipe fitted lately so just a quick reminder that only fuel pipe designed to work with fuel injected systems is safe. The two types look very different, the material covered one is for carburettors ( low pressure ) and will fail. One particular fuel pipe that can be troublesome ( leaking ) is the front one under the throttle shaft. Often access seems impossible and trying to tighten up the clips is impossible, well the trick is not to tighten but to loosen, the clips can then be rotated into a better position as shown lower down where the better access allows the clip to be tightened more efficiently. H…

Misfiring, smoking heavily, and low on power, this zed had lost the end off the spark plug on No 6 cylinder, pulling the motor and stripping down showed the full extent of the damage, the turbo also had suffered damage too. Overboost, detonation, fueling issues, any or all but my guess is detonation caused by over boosting, on what was a loverly engine just weeks before. Jeff TT

Evening. is there any way of checking if ive got forged pistons without taking the heads off or running the engine till destruction? And is there any way of checking if the turbos are uprated, or in good health again without taking them off and physically looking? I only ask as the car i bought has a claimed 400hp, i have no doubt its running high power, i just want to know its running it healthy. Any help appreciated. Mark
