Anyone remember seeign these? Its a short piece of loom that goes between the ECU plug and the ECU so if you are hacking the loom then you can hack into this. Trying to get hold of them as an alternative, neater method of wiring for the Emerald conversion. On Pete's I gutted a stock ECU and used that but would rather use the extension if possible.

Just a quickie, to say thanks to Jeff, Jamie and the boys at zedworld, for getting my pride and joy back to me, all running great, and lookin good...:gunsmilie: She's driving great, pulling well, boosting as per normal, but every now and then, at a standstill there's a few puffs of smoke from the back... I realise that this is more than likely just oil burning opff, or whatever, but I just thought I'd mention it... Other than that, I'm a very happy chappie, thanks again lads, and I'll see you for the service in a few weeks... :cool2:

hi all the zed developed a strange misfire today dont think i missed it when i bought the car but anyway rear cylinder passenger side bank was missing i swapped coil packs with a working cylinder and misfire was still present i then removed the plug it felt tight in places when loosening it but looked ok nice grey tip etc i then swapped it with the plug from number 2 cylinder (so rear cylinder now has coil pack and plug from number 2) and it's now ok any thoughts what it could be? originally when i found the fault removing the connector from the rear cylinder coil pack made no difference to the engine running (i 'e missfire showing up)

:confused1:i had a weird idle which upon investigation reveled i had a misfire on the drivers side front clynder. ive cleaned the injectior connection, done the screwdriver test, and it was clicking, ohmed the injector which came back with 12.9 i believe this is acceptable? ive also checked that i have a spark swapping the coil packs made no differnce and i pulled the plug and grounded it to the plenum and i got a nice fat spark. the plug itself looked normal no blackness or chunks missing etc. ive cleaned the ptu connections. all im thinking now is taht it could be the injector connector is so badly corroded its past salvage? any advice greatly recived my mot is due this…

After years of living on the coast with the previous owner, my Zeds engine is looking pretty grimey and full of baked on sand and crap. I've managed to clean what i can using engine cleaner and elbow grease, but it still looks a state. I was thinking about getting the old jet wash on it, but i'm more than a little hesitant. Even with electrical connectors wrapped in film and protected from water i wouldnt feel 100% sure about it. Has anybody ever cleaned there engine this way? or any other tips or tricks?

Hi guys, took the car out for the first time in a few weeks, first stop as ever the local garage as Iv got a couple of slow punctures at the back. Anyway garage is only 2 min from the house, get there leave the engin running and start working my way round all of the tyres. When I finally get to the front left there is a nice puddle forming in front of the wheel. Obviouse question from the mechanically inept like myself, what is the likely culprit. Thoughts and advise as ever appreciated. Cheers Martin.

How important is it to buy fairly decent quality REAR brake discs for a fast road occasional track use car with r33 gtr brembos? Say for example, standard ebc discs @ £111 or dba 4000 @ £280. I have the dba 4000 on the front and cant decide whether to match the rears or save some money and get the cheapies. Maybe its false economy and i'll not only be sacrificing performance but the cheapies might wear alot quicker? Any advice welcomed :thumbup1:

I have done a search and found no answer to this other than the possibility of a mouse living in the car..? Anywho, the problem is when I press the clutch down I get a squeaking/clicking noise like I am pushing against a squeaky bed-spring or something... it's quite annoying and was wondering if anyone has any remedies and can point me in the direction of curing this problem. Many Thanks! André

Please view the thumbnails as this is my ECU. I have always known it was John Dixon but I know nothing else about it. :blushing: It states TT Auto on it but mine is a manual. It mentions about cc on some stickers and writing, is this something to do with injectors? :surrender: There is an adjuster on the side, what does this do? Could peoples advise me further on it please? I would be most grateful. Andy. :balloon:

Is there anybody on here in the West midlands with Conzult who could help me diagnose and maybe fix my missfire? I'm completley new to these cars, let alone a big V6 engine, so i dont want to start taking things appart and breaking things. I'm in coventry, and the closer the better really, only getting about 150-170 miles to a tank atm :(

Im getting on to the rear bumper on my swb refurb and i would like to get rid of the side markers. has anyone done this, i guess the best way would be to plastic weld in some more material (i have a spare dead front bumper). i dont think fibreglass will be a good idea as im sure it will crack/sink Any ideas or should i leave well alone. btw im going for the smooth clean look- 99 spec front, no skirts, no spoiler, no rear wiper, no aerial etc. car will be plack so the paint prep has to be perfect.

Hi guys, I'm about to install some of these and need a bit of advice on presetting them. The manual is in Jap and not really much use. I know roughly what length the rods should be set to but if anyone has any accurate data it would be appreciated. Am I correct in thinking I'm setting the minimum opening pressure? i.e. with a boost controller in use I will be able to make more boost than the actuator preset but not less?? Presetting to 1.2 bar would mean I was stuck with that or higher on a wet day?? Logically then the preset should be a more comfortable level, perhaps 0.8 bar... TIA RobH

Went out to the car this morning and it started up with a misfire ! Had the ptu off and cleaned all the injectors plugs off and cleaned! It seem like it's running on 4 if I pull one of the coil leads off it makes no diff and if do it on the other side it does nothing also?? If your stood in front looking at the car it's the first 1 on your left and I'm pretty sure it was the 3rd on the left that did nothing when pulled? Do they have limp mode when there's a fault and go down to 4 ? But I'm still stumped on what's causing the misfire help please :)
