A friend of mine is asking where the braided plastic coated pipe on nearside under intercooler intake goes, i know it joins to a metal pipe which runs along chassis rail for a bit, but where does it go after that. Anyone please?

I just bought my Zed 2 days ago and have already managed to reset my boost controller back to factory settings :whistling: Few questions I'm kinda stuck with is, if the controller is now back to normal will the engine just be back to stock boost and fuelling (as im worried about overboosting and pre detonation). Also does anyone have any experience in setting them up using the AUTO program or even manual? The car runs stock turbos/fuel pump/injectors. Any input would be great

Not the hardest of mods to do but it works and you now have the choice of controling your brakes all by yourself or having abs do the hard work. I went switch crazy and fitted one to my wideband sensor so i can turn the wideband sensor off when the ignition is in the on position and im not planning on starting the car which leads to a dead sensor, having to warm itself up for no reason. Fitted a switch for my A pillar pods so i can switch them off completely at night to stop the glare which is dangerous, it really made it hard to see at night down those dark country lanes with the constant blue and red lights flashing in my eyes.

After buying the zed we went up to see Jeff a…

So here we have a technical fault that was dealt with in the workshop recently, thought it may be interesting to see what you guys would make of it and see if maybe we have a budding technician or a right good guesser among the membership!! I can tell you this is a weird fault with a surprising conclusion, read it all through before making any conclusions. So let start with some background first, a standard non turbo running well with no major issues that developed a small water leak, the owner with some tech help from Jamie here and some pipes removed the plenum and replaced the offending pipes, the work seem to go well but once all back together the first start u…

Bummer dude, not sure if it's the wet or.... tried cleaning the maf and it started first go, then went back to it's normal thing... It starts first time after a day or so leaving it, then after about 5 mins of normal throttle and driving, it starts losing power. Example: When you put your foot on the pedal it near enough dies, so you let it off quick before it stalls at a roundbout or something and you get whacked lol. Anyway.... if you feather the throttle really really light it will very slowly accelerate, once it's got above about 1000 rpm you can treat it as you want, but as soon as you're back on the 800rpm mark and sitting again, you darn't hit that pe…

Been busy Saturday with the rear lights. Having already had some clear indicator lenses bought a while back from Medallion Man (Gerry), I then saw a thread the other day where Gonzo was selling his that he had made up himself. The penny dropped and I decided that was the way to go for now as the full led conversion from zedwizz is still under consideration. Firstly take everything and interior panels from the car Now a picture showing them apart, not difficult to do this, just take your time and NEVER RUSH. The best advice is to keep slipping the complete unit in and out of the oven, just a few mins at 90 or so degrees is enough to keep softening up The two …

yesterday after driving for about 10mins, i pulled up at my destination to find that all of my coolant was escaping from the car. from underneath it looked like it was coming from the back of the engine. haven't had chance to look under it yet, but its going on a lift tomorrow. hopping its just a split hose. was well and truly gutted. Anyone no of any prone places to split in the engine bay?

Just thought i'd post a couple of pics of the interim install on my Slicktop. I will update the amp and sub at a later date as and when funds permit. The amp is running the sub and also the Hertz co axials up-front. I also have JL components in the rear Bose boxes. The amp cover and false floor are still to be carpeted, and i'll probably cover the sub as well, most likely in acoustic cloth. When i do upgrade i shall build a box (maybe 2) out of 18mm MDF that'll be scribed to fit in the corners taking a 10" sub. This will do for now though and if the spare is needed its a case of unscrewing the two wires from the sub then just lifting that o…

for anyone who is interested here are a few snaps of where im up to on my restoration/customisation. ive mainly focused on the engine bay as that is what im doing at the moment engine bay was taken back to bare metal, this is just about the last of it pas pot has been moved to here to here, hicas has been removed, inner wing deseamed/smoothed. all holes have been welded up (except a few that i still need) same goes for this area too, there will be nothing here except the brake servo/clutch master cylinder Alot of work has gone on in this area, the battery tray has been removed which revealed a few holes where the battery ha…

I've done a few jobs on the zed including; replacing 4 of the old injector connectors (they were just spade ends pushed on the injectors!!) with new Nissan ones, swapped the balance bar for a chrome one, replaced the seals on the BMC and changed the CC unit in the engine bay for a much cleaner one. The problem I'm having is that the engine is vibrating the whole car really badly now and is idling very rough, almost cutting out. I've checked the MAF that was fine, the connectors I changed were soldered on and checked. I've cleaned all the connectors with contact spray. I did have a split pipe on the back of the balance bar, which when I pulled it off the ca…

Hi, I have a set of fx-r bixenon projectors wich I want to put in my headlights replacing the stock halogen projector. So I've been doing some research and come across the HID light mod in the faq area: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=117007 It describes a nissan blue relay, and from the photo in the how-to document it looks just like a regular spst relay with a normally open contact? Like the ones you use to wire up auxiliary lights f.ex. No need to buy a new nissan relay if I can use a relay I alreay have lying about in my garage...
