This is on my vg30det engine. I'm sorting the engine bay & reducing all the vac lines etc. This metal diaphram is on the back of the plenum near the bulkhead. There is a vacuum 'container' on the inner wing & a electric solenoid by the air filter. As I was uncertain of its role. I have removed the vac line from it leaving the diagram to atmosphere, blanked the hose going to it & removed the plug from the electric solenoid. I have taken the car for a hard drive & it has made no difference to the performance. If anyone knows it's job please help or I'll remove it all to clear space in the bay.

HICAS and Power Steering Issue: Car is a JDM 1995 Series 4 TT with the ELECTRONIC Hicas, not the hydraulic. Ok, so for a little while I’ve been suffering with the usual Heavy Steering issues. This issue appeared shortly after fitting my Haltech Plat Pro. After a little while longer I noticed my speedo was dropping out, which I assumed was my kph to mph converter. Switched converter, speedo returned to normal function (and is as accurate as I would expect when comparing to GPS speed) but power steering symptoms persisted. A further symptom arose where it now feels like the HICAS is in “high speed mode” and feels like the back wheels are turning in the same d…

I'm debating on what to do with the stereo and surround and wanted people's opinions. A bit of background to why it looks as it does. Basically the previous owner had the aircon in the radio surround using several buttons. The display was in the square bit too. I rewired stuff back to the good old pods. But that's left holes and a very messy stereo surround. The setup is a stereo and DVD/Sat nav screen in the normal place, then there's the DVD/SatNav unit in the centre console. If I change the stereo, then I possibly lose or have to change the centre console. So I'm after opinions on what I could/ should do. What I'm toying with is either: -keep…

Hi all I managed to get an hour today on the 300 so started trying to clean up the engine bay. I do like a well cleaned bay and this 300 is one of the dirtiest bays I’ve ever owned. Any heavily oiled areas I’ve had to deal with on previous cars I’ve dealt with using WD40. :thumbup1:Unfortunately the 300 is so groty that the WD40 wasn’t touching the sides without working it in with a toothbrush and cloth.:tooth: Can you guys recommend any products that are more aggressive on contact please? :gun_bandana: Cheers,Chris P.S. Please feel free to post your engine bay to keep me motivated.

Hi All, I’ve just found my leak I posted the other day and now moved on to removal of the original spoiler as I fancy something a bit more tasty. So I’ve got the old spoiler off which was a bit of a faff, but managed to get it off clean and the metal is all solid thankfully as I was worried that the spoiler was like a wet sponge for 20 years. Now I have it off I’m faced with a few holes and a large recess I’m not sure what to do with. Can anyone point me in the right direction to smooth off the lip at the edge of the boot and fill the hole with say a centre brake lamp or some kind of facia I can buy. I did buy an original spoiler off of Ash, but he’s gone…

Right guys D Day is coming Blown engine is out forged engine is going in The engine is capable of about 550BHP so I'm thinking 500 is sensible. While its out a new clutch would be a good idea. The car will be 99% road with the odd speed run any suggestions for a sensible road clutch that I don't need 2 feet to use? Cheers

Nice to see that Mark Hanley's (Topless) blue convertible is still around: http://r.ebay.com/9uoZdV The photo below was taken in 2003 when Mark owned it and the white one. He sold on the blue and kept the white for his TT conversion.

So I've been hunting high and low for a '93+ drivers door for my '95 car which is at Jimmer's pending a respray. I finally found one in Scotland of all places on Gumtree at a breakers. "Yes it's from a +94" "Yes it's completely rust free" the guy tells me. £80 +£50 shipping. Seems a bit steep but no choice so do the deal. I find out yesterday from Jimmer that it is a '89-'92(optimistic at best that it's a '92) and very rusty indeed !!! So it's completely useless for me ! WHY THE F cant people be honest ??? He MUST have known it would be completely obvious that it was NOT what he told me it was !! Rant over - sorry !

Hi All, I’m getting through an alarming amount of coolant. The drip is constant while hot and coming from the centre of the car. There is a small pipe that is not connected to anything that is dripping. A couple of people have said it’s for the ac condenser. But I’m not so sure now as I’m losing so much water and this pipe seems to be the culprit. Does anyone know what this pipe is? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Low mileage UK Z coming up 6 miles from me. Never seen this Z in all my years in Belfast but it looks in great condition and the right money. If I had the spare cash I would be all over this. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201803285018094?postcode=bt88hr&advertising-location=at_cars&sort=sponsored&model=300&radius=1501&make=NISSAN&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&page=1 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300-zx-Turbo-automatic-uk-car-76-000-miles/132576575340?hash=item1ede2dff6c:g:wdsAAOSw1RdazMNK

So I want people's opinions on what oil i should put in my TT Z. I put oil in it 2 years ago and its only done a couple hundred miles, but im installing an oil pressure sensor so oil needs draining and refilling. In the past ive always gone with 5w-40 or 10w-40 of whatever is at the local petrol station but I'd like to be a bit more prepared this time. I've read through oilman's post about viscosity and synth, but still not sure specific. oilman says synthetic because it gives superior protection than semi, but nissan/Jeff have recommended semi. Regarding viscosity, the car is mostly sitting and started every couple months for a little drive (nothing major…

Afternoon all! It's been a while (about 3 years i think!) :) Hope you're all keeping well. Well the poor old slicktop died on me nearly 4 years ago, down to 3 cylinders then stopped. Realised the cat had collapsed so fitted a replacement exhaust section (with cats drilled through), blocked off the recirc pipes, removed AIV and rerouted vacuum tubes Car started but failed to rev and had missfire on rev on right bank Used ecutalk, right hand O2 sensor all over the place Finally got round to removed said O2 sensor, found new one was threaded so finally this weekend managed to get time to clean and straighten the thread, got it in. Car started a…
