Rear end instability and general poor traction was a passing comment when this particular zed was dropped for an MOT, tyre condition was discussed and the owner was happy with the tyres and that the tread level was good and thought maybe some wear in the suspension was to blame. Later when on the ramp the cause of the poor traction was clear, the tread on the rear tyres was almost completely gone, except for the outside edge, the bit visible when glancing from above, giving the impression all was ok. Of most worry was one tyre had exposed metal cords that had started to part from the rubber, a potential blow out waiting to happen, the owner was shocked and som…

Following on from this last year http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=138672 Now I am having the foam spoiler removed and replaced, ducts installed on front bumper and a repair to the nearside door which had more ripples in it than Barrymore's swimming pool Foam spoiler removed from tailgate exposes a half - decent condition underneath Door taken off Like to meet the Picasso who painted this door last time, must operate in the dark or has a white stick More pics to follow on the progress!

hey guys, whilst trying to fix my seats, ive had the fuse box out to check the breaker (which is intact) but there are 2 blue plugs, one on the front and one on the back. now i think i got them the wrong way round when i plugged them in, as the boost guage went to full when the ignition was on. could i have damaged anything? i swapped the plugs and the car runs fine (possibly a little better than before, but maybe having no power connected overnight reset the ecu or something. any ideas what if anything could be screwed?

Looking to replace the damaged and leaky pipe in the middle of the picture, it appears to be the main supply line from the block to the heater matrix, it has a large hole in it just after the it t's off. If anyone has the part number handy it would would help. Kindest James

Link... I know they're for a 350z, but they don't list the 300zx, and I know people put 350z wheels on the 300zx, so would have thought they should work? Or if anyone could point me in the direction of something more suitable it would be much appreciated! Thanks, Phill

Finaly got my belts changed and the dreaded squeek is no more, but unfortunatly after the test drive the clutch decided to give up and piss out all the fluid. and there was quite an audiable pop. not quite sure exactly where the leek is from but its in the general direction of the slave cylinder. so i'm going to get one anyway hoping that is the problem, and if it isn't then the problem will become aparent when the new cylinder is fitted. Just to make sure though (as my local parts provider can't allways be trusted) is it the same cylinder on all models, i.e. uk spec, jap spec, TT or auto etc. Thanks Steve

Does anyone know if there's a writeup available on fitting the a set of S3 J Spec heating and electric folding wing mirrors to a s1 UK?? If not, does anyone care to share their knowledge if they know? Just bought a pair off Slick Pete. Also, the jspecs are black - am I able to swtich the casing over to save on repainting them or is painting the only option? Just want to make sure before I try and lever the case open and end up breaking it!! Cheers Vig

Hi All, Here's a really easy question for the mechanically minded among you. :blushing: I'm looking to get the Oil, Filter and Gearbox oil changed in the near future. Is this an easy job? will it be easy for any Garage to do? :surrender: Also, what is the best oil to use. Semi-Synthetic or Fully Synthetic? My car is a 1995 J-Spec Auto N/A. Cheers Peter

Hi folks. Anyone who was at Zedworld on Sat may recall my little escapade. I took Hollings out for a quick spin to give him a manual shift demo, only to pop the dip stick out of the block and cover the passenger manifold with my fresh oil. :blushing: Anyway, after being mightily relieved to find out it was just the dip stick and not an impending engine melt down - Jamie very kindly degreased what he could and topped up the oil again. On my way home everything seemed to be well and I thought no more of it. Then on Sunday I took the car out for an early morning blast - after overtaking a few slower moving cars I checked my mirror only to find I could hardly see th…

This has led me to thinking, and I don't do that often....lol: - Are the terminals for an electric passanger seat in the loom of a JDM (see I got it right this time...lol) spec Zed, so all that I would need to do is buy a passanger side switch and seat motors and it will go straight in?........ Cheers

I have purchased 2nd hand series 2 PTU + bracket with cut off loom. Firstly how do you get to the existing series 1 unit. Had a half hearted look and looks like plenum hoses pipes must come off but how as they seem pretty rigid. Does the series 2 unit mechanically fit to existing fixings. Also what is the difference in the wiring of connectors and fit/form etc? I was hoping to plug and play not cut up my existing loom. Also what fails on series 1 units as mine seems fine when not piping hot. Can they be fixed?

Ellow you lot, My headlight bulb blew so I ordered some uprated H3B's, they have 2 connectors on the bottom that fit to a block connector. I reciever H3's, these have 1 wire coming from it, but the base will fit the light unit. Can I just earth the bulb to the body, or make up a wire back to the connentor block to make it work? Cheers peeps
