Ok so my old zed again!! I've been helping the chap to get it up & running as it stalls when put in gear! (auto) so we checked the cam belt & found this was a tooth or 2 out so redone it & set timing to 25deg with engine fully warmed up & in N it idles lovely now & no smoke like there was before we redone cam belt & timing ,! So that's all good .. Also base idle set to around 700 then when yellow plug is refitted the revs come up to 900 which I'm told is about right? Now can put in gear but as soon as u touch the throttle it stalls! Even when in neutral and give it a blip it goes to die ! Any ideas? No boost leaks checked! Idle control…

The diff on the old girl is starting to get a bit whiney so gonna change the oil on her! Looking for some advice as to what oil/additives to put in the LSD and how muhc is needed? :helpsmilie: Cheers, Mark.

Hi all, Ive got a brand new loom to connect to the engine but my injector plugs on my loom are the older type pre 93. As ive got the new type injectors installed im going to have to change the connector plugs. Ive been told i can change the connectors over without having to cut and solder the newer type on. Is this true? Has anyone done this before? Cheers Dan

Car was sitting for a while so i left the battery on trickle charge, 6 days ago i took the battery out of storage and put it back on fast charge and once fully charged, put it on the car, went out to it after 2 days and it was dead to the point i had lights on the dash, but my gauges (they do a volt check when you turn the key) were saying just 8 volts, so not enough to crank the engine. sure enough when trying to start the car, not enough juice to start her. so i changed the battery for the one on my breaker, and again after 2 days, the battery was showing 8volts so didn't have enough guts to get her cranking. Never had this problem before, any idea what it could b…

....Baz! Just picked up my new Mines ECU from Baz as another step toward sorting my Z out and making it run better. Little did I remember from my GTR days, that Mines ECUs compensate for the boost your running as well. Lambda sensors were cut on my car by the guy who owned it before me, so with a standard ECU it's been running lumpy as hell unless you drove it like a total ****, at which point it still was a little disappointing. I got back from my long trek from Doncaster to Lincoln, to North Anston, back to Doncaster in the people carrier, and just had to fit the ECU immediately of course, I let the missus and her mum carry the new bed upstairs :D Wh…

Disaster struck yesterday. Was driving along when a tyre blew out, thankfully managed to avoid taking anyone else out but ended up in the barriers. Managed to start it and drive it over to the hard shoulder. But the front end has certainly seen better days.... I have neither the time or the enthusiasm to put it back on the road again. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the car, but after having it off the road for months after the autobox went, and now this, I just don't think I have it in me to go through it all again. My thoughts at the moment are to sell the whole lot for parts or repair, along with the shed full of parts I have for it. At least that …

What amps would i be looking at and what rods to do a sill repair? checking over the car today before the MOT next week and stuck me bloody finger through the rear sill down near the rear wheel arch, i just need to patch it to get it through the MOT until i can sort out some replacement panels from MJP at some point and get it done properly. I have a 130amp arc welder just need to know what rods id need to use and what setting to put it on so i don't put more holes in it, and i get a good weld.

Are they different?-can't get my head around why the uk one jumps to 1k just with ignition on??? Persistant problem. and im completely out of ideas, can you all help me as to what can cause this. my list so far is thermostat faulty coolant temp sensor faulty O2 sensors faulty. Fuel leaks, tank leaks. Boost leaks Vac leaks. would love some help as to what else can cause this as id like to change everything.

Right as some of u may know. I have just had a new bumper for me zed. Well i have neva had anything to do with fiberglass bumpers before . So i fitted it last night and the drivers side is spot on the the passanger side is about 1 inch in towards the inner wing at the end of the bumper. It lines up fine round buy the front of the wing just more towards the wheel were the problem is. I have messured the wings to see if they r level and they r ok. I can pull the bumper out and fits ok but its putting stress on the bumper. Has anyone got any tips?????

Has anyone ever changed the manual A/C dials, to the series II directional climate control? Or can it even be done?

Hi all well got my new z and was wondering what 0-60 times and top speed would be achieved with non turbo auto with janspeed exhausts and performance filter :wacko: car has had good service history and runs sweet with no ticks or knocks and autobox shifts nice . great forum and would appreciate feedback :tongue_smilie:.

Changed the oil in the black zed a few days ago and used a k and n filter for the first time anybody else used the k and n hope its a good filter.The last time I changed the oil in the black zed was in June 2010 but have only done about 2k in that time but even so the old oil was black. There is an anti drain filter on the k and n which is why I went for it plus with the big 25mm nut on the top this makes it easy to put on and get off. Some pics of the oil change:biggrin:

Before the my new box goes on I was going to give it a clean. What's the best way to do it? I was thinking about using my compressors paraffin gun loaded with engine cleaner and giving it good spray and brush. I will be blocking up the final drive end where the prop shaft goes and I have other neutral and reverse switches to go on, so I don't have to worry about damaging the old ones. Would this be OK? I disconnected my amp and sub today to get some wheels in the boot and i have hooked it back up all the same now and the amp power light isnt coming on but the red protect light next to it is. Why is this and how do i fix it? All the wires have gone back the same

hi dont no if you could help me but my 300zx when trying to rev it the rev drop down like its goint to stall after 1 sec picks up nice ? and when i put it in drive and touch the throttle revs go down and stall the car its like it dont like picking up ? can any one help
