I think I'm going to have to get some discs and pads as I have terrible brake judder, especially coming down from higher speeds. Anyway saw these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-N-A-V6-FRONT-DRILLED-GROOVED-BRAKE-DISCS-/390081936649?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5ad2b1fd09#ht_2329wt_905 I assume they're 5 stud and the pic is for illustration only, I'd have to check this. Just wondered if anyone had used these before?

As one or two of you know, my ZX didn't make it to Jeff's bash on the 5th owing to an annoying steering wheel vibration problem. Well it's sorted now - and full marks to Gary Wilson for correctly diagnosing the cause. The front right brake caliper had completely siezed - I discovered it last Saturday when I got home from a short trip and found the wheel too hot to touch and a slight smell of cooking brake pad!! So after a little help from JeffTT (thanks matey - top service as usual!!), some replacement calipers were quickly posted to my local garage and the offending item was replaced on Friday. Oh and they did the MOT as well - which it flew through.....:smarta…

Well after almost 6 months of ownership ...... I had to go to town today for a battery for my garage door remote, so I also paid a visit to the kosovans and paid the customary fiver for a hand wash. They do a good job, but I prefer Meguiars to their bulk buy wax, so brought it home, waxed it up, and FINALLY got some photos of my car. In my rides section if anyone fancies telling me why my spoiler is different to other UK Zeds I'd appreciate it :D

Hi all, bought a second hand exhaust today off a good lad from this forum:thumbup1: My 93 TT SWB existing exhaust's back box is hung on the coventional style rubber mounts, (L bracket style and push fit, 2 per box) The new exhaust i aquired today was mounted on a single soild rubber mounting, flat plate on can and bolted in place, 91 SWB TT. Are they 2 types of mount on SWB or is one a custom jobby? cheers James

Rather than hi-jack the deadzed thread, I thought it might be interesting to see the cars everyone had leading up to their zed. I know this has probably been done before, but still.. I'll start, mine are in order, apart from cars in NZ because I've lived there twice - Aug 2005 - Mar 2006 and Nov 2007 - Feb 2010 Ford Orion 1.6 Ghia - 17 Ford Capri 2.8i V6 - 18 - 21 (Although off the road several times) BMW 325iSE - 18 (Bought while the capri was off the road) Jaguar XJS 5.3 V12 - 19 (Had overheating problem, also had steering problem, it saw a petrol station and turned left! So it went elsewhere.) Toyota Mk III Supra 3.0 Turbo Auto - 19 (Eventually died s…

Hi Chaps, I've just found this site after doing some research on the ZX 2+2 Turbo. I've been looking out for one as I've always liked them, and a friend passed on some details of one that's going into Anglia Car Auction's next sale and they aren't that far from me either. Admittedly there's not to many details of it on the site - link here - but there are a couple of pics. It'd be appreciated if anyones got any tips for buying these - can't wait to see it when it comes in. :cool3:

Some might know I fitted this last week but not really happy with the finish. So Today I thought I would tidy it up and an idea hit me! (groan!) Was getting some guages so I thought why not mount em' in here as well!,didn't want a 'flat' panel so I used 3 cheapy pods and mounted them at an angle for better visibilty, first was to trim the surround to get the pods in,they are then Superglued to hold em' until the Bridge filler goes in! Then a bit of filler front and back, they are now solid! The finish filling started, not getting any better at this! LOL! This shot shows the mounted angle..... Getting there........ And a quic…

  17. got a call from the guys at the body shop ......its done !!!! thats the big step over , wide arch conversion done , respray done , all extra bits done ...my only concern is the rear wheels catching the beautifuly crafted inner lip and ruining it but im sure jeff and the body shop guys have thought of this and its a worry too far onmy behalf .....anyway the zed can now be given back to Jeff and Jamie and the crew to refit the built engine and do their hocus pocus on it ....roll on the next few weeks ...Jeff get some piccies posted up mate :)

Have a zed in for some serious welding and upgrade work and one of the reasons we had to recover it from the owners home was due to brake failure. When it arrived we soon established the brake master cylinder was empty and the pedal went to the floor, so a quick top up and bleed at the abs unit just to give us some brakes to safely move the car about went ok except the front o/s calliper was jammed. So look at the picture below to see how bad a caliper can get when its seized solid, a real mess and although rebuilding is possible this zed is in for some big brake upgrade so we just fitted a good used one and bleed it out again and now we have brakes albeit temp…

After an enjoyable with my son at the fleet air museum in somerset, i was travelling back to wales, when crossing the severn bridge........ BANG my first reaction was a blowout, doing about 70 mph i braced myself to control a spinout. looking in the mirror to see how soon i could pullover while hitting the hazards all i could see was smoke. managed to get over to the hard shoulder and switched engine off to go inspect the damage. no tyres gone, got back in and started engine, it made a horrible noise and a load of smoke came out of the bonnet, thinking it was gonna catch fire i got us both out as quick as i could and retreated a good 200 yards up the road. lucki…

Boost and air leaks are a way of life for zed owners and making sure that your engine is not drawing air or loosing boost is vitally important for correct engine performance and acceptable fuel economy. However sometimes the cause of leaks are self inflicted and one such mistake we see many times is pictured below and refers to the balancer bar. The bar has a bracket on the drivers side which sit on top and is secured by the same fixings that hold the balancer bar itself down. A common mistake is for the bracket to be fitted in-between the bar and the plenum rather than on top of the bar, the outcome of this is a substantial air / boot leak. This leak can effec…

Hi, I bought my first zx about 8 months ago and its time for a bit of an overhaul. I have read around the forums and im sure my propshaft centre bearing and rear gearbox mount need doing, plus my gearbox is noisey and not great getting into second. The zed is a 96 NA import manual, ive been looking around for the best price for gearbox mount, prop bearing and redline mt 90 tranny oil, any advice where i can get these for the best prices? also.. is it worth changing the gearbox oil filter? and what engine oil would you recommend? I just noticed a new centre bearing sold for £50 on here a few weeks ago!! cheapest ive seen is £150  Pic.. cheers!…
