I bought ZXTT front bumper , i knew it needed a few repairs so i,ve been doing that at work , in my own time of course :whistling:, got the first lot of primer on it and brought it home to sort out the fitment , as with all fibreglass bumper it would need a bit of fettling . It fitted quite well on the O/S but the N/S needed a bit of attention . I sanded any material back that was stopping it sitting neatly , But the gap still wasn,t how i wanted it so i used a trick i,ve used in the past , prep the edge of the bumper to accept filler , mask the wing with packing tape now bolt the bumper in place , now you can fill right over onto the wing the get the l…

The suspension that I currently have on my zed isn't great. They're Tokicho and they're blue (they're not coilovers), and I think the fronts are shagged as they feel a bit... "wafty" at speed. Slightly contradictory, the whole setup feels too stiff which doesn't inspire confidence on a typical bumpy b-road. Anyway, I'm just wondering what standard suspension is like? I've never been in a Zed with standard units (actually I've never been in a Zed other than my own!). Is it totally useless, hence why everyone seems to have replaced it, or is it perfectly competent for everyday use, and blasting down a country road (I don't do trackdays)? I'd love a set of Meisters…

Ive just bought these lights. They are pretty bad but i intend on either tinting them to a gloss black finish or taking the orange out and using them on my existing pair (i like the tango) Can these cracks be repaired or if i painted them would it make it more pronounced or would it hide it a bit? Thanks Mark

Can you remove a NA engine without removing the autobox? Ive been trying today and the engine pulls forward but hits the steering rack on the sump and i just cant seem to get it past. Tried jacking up the autobox to give me some angle but nothing :( its only about 10mm off and if i lift the engine too much the gearbox just holds onto it. Anyone done this before as i cant be bothered removing exhausts and prop. Marty

Our local car club is having a rolling road day at Corten Miller Performance Centre - http://www.corten-miller.co.uk/ Is anyone interested in bringing their Z (or anything else) down for the day? Its on the 9th of April, we need a minimum of 12 cars for the day, £36 and of course you get a printout so you can either gloat to your friends or go sulk in the corner. Your vehicle will be subjected to three back to back power runs measuring power at the wheels and flywheel, torque at the wheels and flywheel, AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) RPM and Boost (if turbo or supercharged). Graphs can be displayed with: Flywheel BHP Flywheel Torque Roadwheel B…

Saw this little beauty by Victoria Park in Bristol, was like looking into a mirror aside from the boot spoiler, and mine is always brown from the muddy country lanes! Very nice :)

Hi there all, As the title says really, Jonce (Jonno) came round and we set about the drowned Zed. Ripped a lot of the interior out including the dash and everything behind the rear seats. It pleased me that I have made the right decision to scrap the car, we couldn't believe the amount of water still in the car even behind the dash and instrument binnacle!!!!!!! Took a lot of bits out the engine bay inc. plenum, rocker covers and various pipes and brackets etc. The intention is for a lot of parts to go in the new car I am buying. Really got the bug back today and cant wait to remove the rest of the parts like the brakes, wheels, radiator and exhaust. …

I have a squeal, but it doesn't seem to be a belt. In the car it sounds like its behind the dashboard, when I first bought the car I thought it was the heater fan, but it isn't. Under the bonnet, it seems to be coming from top left corner of the engine (as looking at the engine), I had considered the alternator belt, but it really does sound as if its coming from the back of the engine bay, master clutch cylinder area, or below... Its more noticeable at idle and slow driving, but my exhaust is so loud when driving normally I can't hear if its happening then, don't think it is though. The squeal doesn't get louder, always the same. Weird....

Hi everyone I know it's probably an often-covered topic but I've just re-newed my insurance with Lynbrook on a classic policy for a premium of only £216 !!! That's fully comp. with a £250 excess. I appreciate I'm getting on in life and so perhaps less of a risk, but I think that's fantastic value - especially with the inexorable rise in everything - especially insurance - it seems these days. Very pleased !!! And the people you have to deal with there are very courteous, pleasant and professional too so I would recommend them very highly. Mark Ps just need to tax it and back on the road !!

hi guys, im new ere, and really am in need of help... last night i went to swap my current car for an H reg fairlady Z, the guy told me it was running in good order etc, but... may need a better battery, i went to take the car home, and didnt even get out of his street, as soon as i put the headlights on, it died and wouldnt start, when jump started, it started straight away, then when i applied the breaks... the car died again, all the while the "power" light was fluttering. im assuming the battery is knackered, and possibly alternator too. but if anybody can shed some light and tell me there could be a bigger problem i would b greatly thankful. thanks guys, shaun…
