What to do now?? Do I buy a new set of wheels or struggle to try and find a single replacement wheel.... Not that that's very likely been trying all weekend! If anyone has one let me know. What size wheels do u guys recommend? Currently running 18" but was thinking of going up to 19" any probs with this? Looks like there is plenty of room in the arches Oh and btw not a good idea to go drifting in the rain lol.... Suppose it had to happen one day ;)

As the title says really? Except it should say Wolf.... what are peoples thoughts particularly around their clutches? The US sites seem to rate them.. RPS seem to have a rep for clutches that break?

Guys, After a year of searching for a clutch vacum booster I finally got hold of a used one, The symptoms of mine were that it wasn't holding a vacum at all, if you blew into the pipe you could hear the air rushing out! Now when the used one turned up first thing I did was blow in the pipe, to my surprise I could hear a very little bit of air leaking out? Also sucking on the pipe I would get a vacuum where I could get my tounge stuck on the pipe but only for a few seconds! Could anyone please tell me if this is normal for the booster or is it leaking and on the way out? Thanks

for those wising to clean terminal connectors, we all struggle trying to find something to clean the pins with, mainly using a small precision flat head screw driver, sand paper and what ever else has a good contact to rub the crap off the connectors, sometimes with varying results and some times with out paying attention can inadvertently make the connection worse by making the gap wider between the pins to stop it getting a decent contact. So if you want, here is the correct tool for the job. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Professional-Automotive-Electrical-Wire-Terminal-Connector-Cleaner-Restorer-USA-/280951350170?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item416a01639…

trying to sort out the mess that is my A pillar gauges tonight, thought id tidy up all the wiring and figure out why my water temp and oil temp are non working, anyway, found the ground to both the water and the oil temp where not connected properly as someone used those stupid blue clip things with the bit of metal in that is supposed to splice into the wire and make a bridge. Well anyway, first question, what is the Orange wire for on the back of Autogauges? as this doesnt seem to be connected to anything and all the ends are just taped up? Also is there a switched live on the Pods somewhere? or shall i just splice into the clock connector as my clock isn't e…

Been thinking for a while now should I sell or not, so I made some effort this weekend to get her polished up and take her out for a spin, last week I put the brakes back on, bit of a service and the 99spec front spayed and fitted, I`m in love again Had a few guys round tonight to have a look at her and I do think I`m stupid selling it, here`s a few pics from today ;)

Right, so I had a smoky bank on the engine, and I eventually decided to pull it out and change my turbos. I had purchased a pair of " good" second hand tubs from eBay ( you can see where this is going?!) to fit. So 4 tubs on the bench and I'm trying to decide which if any I can use... They all have various amounts of end float ( in and out play) and up and down movement on the shaft ( they don't move so much as to cause the wheels to rub against the housings) So first question - what's the spec limits for play and is it possible to assess the " health" of the tubs - I'm thinking oils seal, bearings etc.... If they are all screwed, what are my options? …

Can recommend the following: Derek Wilkinson Mobile Car Mechanic based out of Colchester http://www.derekjwilkinsonmobilecarrepairs.co.uk/ Website is just standard template stuff but Derek himself seems very conscientious, works on classic cars in general and also a 200, another 300 and, I think a 350. Did a standard service on mine and I was impressed with his attention to detail. Don't get him talking about adjusting tappets on a Chevy, though :) No idea how much of a detailed Z expert he is but he has MJP Auto to call on so that should be a pretty good combination. Also, this lot http://www.thomsonlocal.com/Led%20Part%20Worn%20Tyres/0110628407508120000/companyinfo…

Right this is now starting to Pee me off, at JAE car was idling smooth as day, jaikai got the old consults out and found my TPS was set at 0.38, anyway groover got on and changed the TPS to 0.44 and went to set the idle, at this point it looked as though my IACV was faulty as it wasnt changing something (cant remember what now) when it was being set. anyway, finally got it to play ball / do something it was supposed to and the idle was set, but as we were running out of day light, we gave up with the now hunting idle. So today i thought id tackle the issue and swap the IACV over from the blue zed, well all was fine for around 10mins, then it started doing it again s…

I hadn't driven my ZX since JAE so, as it was a lovely sunny day here in The Chilterns I decided to take the ZX on the Sainsburys run early this morning. I then popped to Halford's for some cleaning bits - but as it was such a nice day I took the scenic route home..... ......I only intended to make a slight detour to give the car a little run; but boy, are these cars addictive!! By the time I got home (much later than anticipated) I had clocked up over a hundred miles!! Richard:sorcerer:

Hi guys random question for today, what is up with these two parts of my car? Red circled part is attached to the window frame in front of the targa panel on both sides. Doesn't move or anything but I was curious because I hadn't seen it on other peoples Zed's. The other circled bit looks like something on the window is broken, but the panels are solid and the top edge of it is smooth. Also the window runs up and down fine, and seems to seal when closed. Any ideas welcome! John

I do not drive my Zed on a daily basis, sometimes it may be several weeks before I give her a run out. If she has sat for a couple of weeks and I start from cold, (garaged) the revs hit 1350rpm and there is a very audible machine gun type rattle for a couple of seconds. I am running 5w-40w fully synthetic top of the range oil, and although the bottom end has only done 25,000 mile, the top end has done in excess of 133,000 miles. Am I running a risk of doing damage? What might the cause be? Any advice would be very much appreciated.

When I start the car from cold it gets up to around half way point on the temp gauge but then drops off back to below the white line and while its in this position the car runs slightly worse but noticebly worse... around 2mins after driving it shoots back up to normal again and the car runs great again for the remainder of any journey. Any ideas what could be going wrong here?

My zed has been off road, sorned since march 11. so thats 18 months, due to the fact that i wasnt happy with the horrid side skirts, after taking them off it was clear why they were on. Over this time, what with saving for another marriage, and still paying off the old one. Things done Removed high level spoiler and replaced with new 89 spec. wheels refurbished Gewalt 18" split rims from black to alloy need to polish the lip better. All brakes overhauled with new pistons, seals and braided lines, new pads and disks. Fitted full japspeed system, with decats. New sills fabricated, but new oem inners and returns. replaced both scuttle panels with a perfect …

Ordered a bunch of goodies from z1 and they we're very good and sent the stuff really quickly, postage was $120 but I ordered a lot to make up for that. I was most excited about the stainless steel Hardpipes and the dual MAF, as I had already bought a second Apexi filter and MAF. Anyway I set about fitting the Hardpipes and it was such an arse to do! Some of the steel bits we're only just short enough to fit so much swearing and fairy liquid was needed. I paid extra for fancy jubilee clips and they were useless, they were too wide and as I tightened them they slid off, I have spent hours adjusting and tightening but they still leak, I'm sure they will settle in eventua…

I know this sounds daft but i tried jacking my zed up today (trolley jack) and the lip which it goes on started to bend where is the best place to used a trolley jack when working on wheels and exhaust without causing any damage to the car. I prefer trolley jacks then standard factory ones. Pics would help me as im not fully clued up with the underside of the vehicle
