  1. Looking at nardi wheels and a quick release boss kit. Can choose between 330mm and 350mm Just wondering if a 330mm wheel is too small, does it become a pain for reaching the control pods etc.

I just got my insurance renewal letter in the post this morning. i have been quoted £190 with 3 years no claims. the dilemmas i have now though are... 1- do i ring them and let them know of the mods i've done over the past year or not. 2- do i ring around to other companies and declare the mods and see what i'm quoted? i'm currently with sureterm. What insurance companies are other members with and how much are they paying with declared mods? i don't mind if my insurance goes up a bit with the mods declared but obviously not too much as the fuel bill of running it daily costs me most of my spare wedge. any help or advice will be gratefully received!

Hi guys. Had my Z for around 15 years now so been in here a few times for your help :winkiss: Regret to admit I still know very little about how the thing actually works :confused1: When the weather gets colder, my HICAS warning light comes on for a few seconds when the engine is cold and then goes off again. It sometimes does this a couple of times before it warms up properly. Does/could this indicate a problem? Thanks :winkiss:

Was just musing about how many 300ZX owners you see around these days. For me there has been a definite drop over the past five years or so – and even on here there have been a few of the most Z-crazy posters selling up. I can't envision not owning a Zed for at least the next 5 years. Part of the reason its practical to keep it is that I live about 3 miles from a Z-specialist and I find the advice and sourcing of parts through here fantastic. Added to that my insurance was £380 for a kickass-fun car. But what about you? At what point is it no longer worth the bother? Do you think you'll grow more attached to your Z as they become even rarer or will you go for a…

Hey guys i want my OEM stick to be refurbished in black with red stitching - anyone know anywhere in the Manchester area that might be able to do this or should I just order a 99 spec stick and gaiters?

I've lost touch a bit with the in-car entertainment options available nowadays. I want to fit a new standard DIN sized head unit – and ideally I want to match the Tommy Kaira dials I've got which are a kind of BMWish red. In an ideal world I would like the digital display to match the airtemp blue lighting and have the switches with red illumination. If the gods were REALLY kind they might also include some sort of a SatNav though this is less important since ive got maps on iphone. Ive found a couple of Clarion and Kenwood units that are so-so but nothing that really ticks the boxes. Anyone have any ideas where I might look?

OK so I would love to stop quicker than I am doing at the moment. Im using the car for making the occasional trip around A roads / motorways. No track or racing use. I've got standard TT calipers front and rear with drilled and slotted discs and would like a better feel and performance without going crazy price-wise (until I can afford a proper big brake upgrade). I'm ordering braided lines and fitting Ferodo pads as well as skimming my discs and using a new change of Motul 5.1 Questions: 1. How much of a difference will those changes be likely to make? I would like to see an improvement on performance so would spend extra if theres virtually no diff…

Can a front mount fit onto a standard 89 spec bumper or would you need to change to a different type? Been offered on by a mate who no longer needs it but I have never seen anyone using one on the standard front, is this because of not enough room behind or not enough airflow coming in?

without going for a big upgrade, have you guys got anything to say on drilled/grooved discs such as http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300ZX-3-0-Twin-Turbo-Front-Rear-Drilled-Brake-Discs-/300472173657?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3A300+ZX&hash=item45f5898459 or, better off with a decent brand solid disc? my current discs, although not showing heaps of wear/lip, are starting to cause vibration under heavy braking at say 60-70mph and wondered if i'd be better off with vented/driled to try and prevent warping in whatever set i get next opinions pliz!

So I had a couple of hours spare so thought I'd strip my engine down ready for machineing, looks like it was apart not long before I bought the car, with new head gaskets new freeze plugs, 6 really good condition pistons n rods with new piston rings. I'm going to get the block rebored, skimmed and acid bathed next,

Hi all On my prevous Zed I had some aftermarket indicator repeaters They had four chromed metal bars horizontally, and the phrase 'Twin Turbo' on a metal plate across the centre. They looked a bit like the chromed repeaters you see on some recent BMWs or Mercs I've no idea where these came from, has anyone else ever seen this type and know where they can be found? Has anyone here fitted repeaters not meant originally for the Zed (just to have something that looks different) and if so anyone got any recommendations on what may fit well (or even better - pics!) I'm fitting fibreglass wings so can make the mounting hole pretty much any shape/size…

Am i right in thinking that to eliminate this thing i just need to loop the 2 pipes ontop that go into it and remove it all? What happens if you unplug it? Thanks Mark

I currently have old style injectors in my fuel rail, am I right in saying to run injectors with new style plugs I need a newer style fuel rail or an adaptor kit? Is there any advantage to having the newer fuel rail over the old?

 Managed to destroy the treads in the top banjo bolt hole to the transmission oil cooler. Can I get a banjo bolt that is one size bigger and just use a bit of force when entering the bolt. The gearbox bonjo hole is aluminium so a steel bolt should just make new theards by itself if I can enter it...or... I don't want to remove the gearbox again if I don't have to

  22. Hi Thinking of replacing my 1992 UK 300ZX twin turbo's spark plugs; firstly, what sized spark plug wrench do I need - 14mm? Think I only have a 10mm one at the moment... Secondly, which plugs should I use? Looking around it seems NGK PFR6B-11 are recommended for a standard TT but NGK PFR6B-11B are better for a 'modified' TT. Mine has the 70+bhp EPROM upgrade and Apexi air filter, no other engine mods... so am I better off with the B? I see they're different lengths though... Cheers Ross

Hi all I have some hesitation/stumble issues with my TT and have been going through the checklist of known causes. I've just done the coolant temp sensor test at: http://www.300zx.net.nz/articles/MainLib/HowTos/heasitation/whencold.htm Supposedly the voltage of the temp sensor is supposed to start at 5V and gradually go down to 0V as it gets warmer. Here's my results: Cold start: 3.9V 4 mins later: 2.3V 6 mins: 1.9V 10 mins: 1.25V 16 mins: 1.24V 20 mins: 1.2V Note that the temperature outside today (East Midlands, UK) is about 8-10C. Now to me, that starts off a little low and doesn't come down enough - could this be the cause of my…

Hi, took the zed out for a run tonight and decided i would pull over on a quiet stretch of road and launch it from standstill ( haven't done it and got a 1/4 mile challange coming up against a mate ). Now apart from smoking my clutch, when i changed from 1st to 2nd it was popping and banging ( something it hasn't done before except on overrun ). Another thing i noticed when putting it back in the garage was the n/s exhaust didnt seem to have the same kinda constant pressure as the o/s ( if you know what i mean? ) it was kinda stuttering. Apart from that it seems to be fine, possibly just worrying about nothing but thought id check.
