Hi everyone, I would like to pick your brains on a problem that occurred yesterday on my 91 N\A 2+2. Started running on 5 cylinders so connected up datascan and discovered it was cylinder 6 not firing. Did a diagnostic with code 55 so ok on that front. Changed all spark plugs from iridium to double platinum, changed coil pack and then swapped performance chipback to standard chip as I felt it was not running as well on current chip. Disconnected battery while performing this operation which I have done several times. All back together and switched on ignition and the electric fan is coming on straight away, started up and sounds like its running on 4 cylinders …

Hi guys I am wanting to sort out the stereo system in my car. At the moment it has some rubbish Sony CD player that is eating most discs I put into it, so I want to get rid of it. I am looking at doing a headless setup using an iPod or iPad. The car has got aftermarket Panasonic speakers fitted already which all work and I am happy with the sound quality from. To do this setup I am thinking I need the following - An iPod -> RCA cable with a 12v power line (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260741328797?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649) - A volume control I can fit between the iPod and the speakers (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280924…

If you do have targa leak you might check this ... as you can see in the picture where targa drain pipe is connected to elbow it`s welded only one side and and that`s where my leak was a bit of silicone and sorted :)

I obviously didn't do my passenger side turbo oil feed line up quite tight enough, it doesn't drip or anything, so its not that loose however there is a permanent bead of oil rond the fitting which eventually runs round it to the underside, It never makes it to the point of dripping as it evaporates off before it gets there. Anyways ive got pretty good access to it as my air cons deleted, with the battery out its not too bad to get to however one of the water lines is in the way, any tips to getting the thing nipped up again? special shaped spanners etc? or am I going to have to undo the water line?

  11. I finally got my 1990 SWB TT Manual running and mot on Friday, The first drive of approx half a mile went perfect, engine boost well, acceleration as I would expect having owned two others previously. then suddenly the car wont rev very high, if I pull off in first it initially feels good up to 3000rpm then hits a wall, change to second and it only gets to 2500 before same loss of power, maximum speed i can get is 40mph and that's feathering the throttle. As the car has been standing for 4 years and the fuel pump noisy I immediately thought the fuel pump- I took this out of the tank and it didn't seem too blocked so cleaned with brake cleaner and re-installed. The age old conception is that with an intercooler that is more efficient than stock, you get more horsepower. How true is that? do you automatically get more horses, or does it just allow you to run higher levels of boost more densely and i.e safer? so not really a power gain more a safety gain? just wondering what the facts are, and in reality all the people you see running feck off fmic's are more show than go on a car on stock tubs etc. Obviously I understand, that at a certain point with bigger tubs etc , a larger intercooler is required to process an increased level of hotter air and lower that temperature to a safe level. However what I'm asking about here is stock…

Lovely looking 99 Spec, so rare to see one crop up these days and not a bad price too! Wish there was more pics though. Anyone know if this is the one that was highlighted here a year or so ago? http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/nissan/300zx/nissan-300zx-twin-turbo-targa-automatic/1067747 Looking around, there really doesn't seem to be as many Zeds for sale as there were a few years back :cool3: Smithy

Now that winter is over and its getting close to the time when i will tax the Zed for the first time (€422 for 3 months ouch), i was thinking of storage solutions for the Glass in the T-Top when we eventually do get a sunny day. I was half thinking of buying some sheets of Neoprene rubber and getting a friend who is someway handy with a sewing machine to make me some , but that sounded like a lot of hard work. So a quick ebay search threw these up , and for €100 landed to my door i think its reasonable enough value and they dont look half bad. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-300ZX-Syn-Leather-T-Top-Covers-Z-logo-Interior-/170938075769?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Acce…

I was driving up to beaulieu in my delivery van and at the top of wallhampton hill near lymington a very nice black convertible passed me with the hood down making the most of what is going to probably be the only sunny day we get for a long time. First time I have seen a zed in this area for many years and was a really nice looking car. James
