Like I said in the ITB's project, there's another intake manifold coming up. As the 300zx is still in my driveway, it will serve again as a test and dyno mule. With the ITB manifold everything was designed for maximum performance explaining the large plenums and custom intercooler pipes. This time the manifold should be easier to fit by making use of more OEM parts, and being much cheaper to fabricate. Modifying the valve covers, fuel rails and ignition coil brackets is still required though. The length of the intake runners is just as long as the ITB manifold, around 39cm which is a good value for what most vg30's are tuned to. This manifold has smaller plenums…

so i've finally got round to fitting rear camber arms on the zed, one question though the kit came with no instructions, but i had 4 long bolts, 4 washers and nylock nuts with the kit were these intended to replace the eccentric bolts on the inner of the arm?, thats where i've fitted them as both eccentric bolts snapped off trying to undo them.

Hello everyone, I am picking up a 300zx in the morning but it has the following issues and I was hoping to find out how critical they would be??... My issue is that the gear stick is very loose, there is a LOT of movement in it, like 3 or 4 inches side to side even when in gear. Is this the linkages??.. And could it be brought back to life? Gears don't crunch but in 2nd and 4th there is a slight scraping/grinding noise as when driving... Perhaps gearbox oil?? This is silent in 1st, 3rd and 5th.. Any ideas?? Any help is much appreciated!! Best, William.

As I was putting the Z back in the garage this afternoon, I noticed quite a puddle of oil on the drive.... .....taking a closer look, it's all in the very front of the engine - in front of the radiator. You can see it in the mouth of the bumper, on the splash guard in front of the oil cooler. I'm guessing one of the oil cooler pipes has sprung a leak. I'll have to get it booked into the garage for them to take a look. Could the cooler itself have burst; or is it more likely just a hose? Hopefully it's a simple fix.... Richard:clover:

Such a friendly and helpful guy, much like all the other members I've had the pleasure of meeting in person over the years! Really is one of the added bonuses of owning a Zed I think! BAck on topic - THANKS VIJAY! Your help today was VERY much appreciated!! Vig

in the past few weeks I have been in two minds as to keeping or selling my TT, But have decided that I am not willing to give up on this zed! So...... This morning I went to go and see a couple of body shops to see about having my sills, wheel arches, boot lid (bird shit had ****ed the paint while I was away on holiday) and a few other blemishes sorted. After a little chat with the body shop owner, managed to get a very attractive price for all the work, so it should be off to them on Monday evening. Also decided that while its there, they can also paint and fit my impul side skirts that I've had sitting at work since I bought them ages ago for my old n/a. Once…

Hello everyone. Ok so I am now 2 hours away from meeting my first TT Z. I feel like a kid going on a first date! I have read everything I can over the years about these cars and whilst sitting on this train am procrastinating... How much for general driving use (not racing) can you expect to spend on maintenance per year? I fear I have had very forgiving n the past, lots of hondas and bmw etc, and have never paid more than a few hundred a year on maintenance. I drive sensibly, have a bit of fun occasionally but of course some cars will withstd more than others. Realistically and if the base car has been looked after, how deep should my pockets …

I took my car to Brian's house last weekend as he said he'd help me with a cambelt change and service on the car. As we dug a bit deeper into the engine he found a couple of problems like a water leak at the back of the engine and an oil leak on the cam pulley. So off came the upper and lower plenum. He suggested a water bypass while the plenum was off along with a couple of other jobs while the engine was in bits. I picked the car up yesterday and couldn't believe how well she drives. Great job mate! Also, he didn't charge me for doing this and gave me a load of spare parts & cups of tea. Great club spirit! Now I will definitely be able to get to JAE. Thanks again ma…

Hi im hoping to start my car tomorrow for the first time since the rebuild. Im excited but also a bit nervous as its make or brake time. My questions are. 1. What degree does the throttle position sensor need to be set at? 2. The same for the C.A.S unit? 3. What is stock oil pressure? If I get the car running what shall I do? I've had many different suggestions. I want to check for leaks etc before I have the car run in on the rollers. 1. Let the car idle up to engine temp then turn it off? 2. Dont let the car idle keep revving it on and off up to 3000 revs? 3. Rev it hard though the rev range? Thanks Dan

So a zed in the workshop this week was in for cambelt and other work including sorting the leaking exhaust sound. The zed had been treated to a couple if turbo`s prior to arriving at us, the owner had bravely removed the engine removed and refitted the turbo`s after refitted the engine did not fancy tackling the cambelt. So after the cambelt was done the exhaust sound led us to the near side turbo and a little look down there with the battery removed revealed a little mistake when the turbo was refittted. Was a little surprised to see that the tab bracket that should be under the nuts was actually between the flange of the exhaust manifold…

Anyone here have any experience with them on a Z? Problems? Advantages? Is it a case of fine if used in moderation, pretty much like winding the boost up? Many thanks, Dan

Hey people, we recently purchased a 99 spec front bumper and already have an Autobahn FMIC non of which are currently fitted to the car. We got looking at the bumper today as were wondering if the intercooler will be too big to fit behind it. Has anyone on here fitted an Autobahn FMIC behind a 99 spec front bumper? Thanks Andre :thumbup1:
