I'm not sure if this is due to a recent set of tyres being fitted (10k ago) but I've noticed that when I hit 100mph or so (on a private test track - officer!) I get a vibration which stays with me at speeds over that. Is there anything else that I should check that could cause high speed vibrations? She's getting on a bit now so I thought 'wheel bearings' Comments Appreciated. Simon 90300zxTT

Hi guys. As the topic says i'm thinking of buying a 300zx TT. It's a while off yet as my insurance runs out in April, and they wont swap it over :( I was just wondering what to look out for as i don't want to spend that much and get a bad one. General info would be nice as i'm new to the supercar scene. I own a little 106 rallye ATM so it will be a big leap up :) TIA. Rob.

Mate of mine from work who is also a memmber of this forum ( hey Tizz) took his UK spec Z to Halfords this morning for a compression check and Alternator belt re -fit. Halfords phoned him back saying that the Compression check would be 60 quid !!!!! and to change the Alternator belt would require the engine to be removed. Hehe. Sorry but that is about the funniest shit i have heard this year. Do they have trained mechanics at halfords or is it just a case of solving this countries employments problems !!! Moral of this story - don't take a Z to halfords unless you want a laff. Z ya Nico91TT

Today, I hit a pot hole which was unavoidable and it has seriously damaged both front and rear nearside wheels :-( I'm having the suspension checked out this week for any damage but I think it's okay. I suspect that they can't repaired and I think that the supplier of the wheels won't have them in stock, if they have even still make them. So, I'm thoroughly p1stt off and wanted to let you all know the pitfalls of wheels with low profile rubber!! Steve

I know I am probably going to hell for this post regarding bulbs, but anyway here goes. Having read the tech sec on bulb mod for a jap and looked at the various varieties in halfords, can anyone tell me how good the Bosch 453 bulbs are with Zenon or Xenon not sure which as they are supposed to be 30% brighter than a std 55w but they cost twice as much

Ford escort Cosworth bit off more than he could chew earlier today and was obviously disappointed as I came along side him at a speed I can't print here because my mum reads this forum and might worry. He was quick, but not that quick. Not bad considering I probably weigh in at double his weight.

Has any one got these on there 300z if so do 245 40 18 go on the front without rubbing inner arch on full lock. As Wheel Mania told me they will, the same as the seneca rg wheels, are these people right. Im sure that a lot of you must have 245 40 18 on the front without problems. Also on what width are the wheels 8" or 8.5" and with what offset. Cheers for earlier replies.

Hi chaps Guess some scumbag is now happily enjoying my Z (probably in Eastern Europe by now). Anyway...my guess is that it was probably put on a loader in seconds and done pretty fast too.....the road was the A4 (west London) and that's busy 24 hrs a day with 3 lane traffic each way plus loads of houses. The scum would have been spotted if they took more than a couple of mins. For my next car it's TRACKER time ! William :-(

Hi Hez Please could u give me a few more details about your insurance claims (eg the insurance company etc.) I guess that as I'll probably never see my Z again, when the time comes to claim for the payt. i'll need to back it up......could I use your name and details as an example ? Many thanks William

There is no illumination to the left dash pod that contains the air-con controls. I presume the bulbs have failed. Is it possible to open/remove just this unit or does the whole dash need to come off to replace them? If yes then how?

Hi Guys, After reading about Williams car being stolen I thought I would ask about extra security on my 300. I've got a cat1 imobiliser/alarm fitted, should I have anything else eg. wheel lock etc. or is this enough. Cars parked on the road outside the house (just watch out for the buses) I don't want too go through the pain that being stolen would cause. Any suggestions? JW

Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I was heading over to my parents last night in the countryside when both headlight bulbs blew. Total darkness at 60mph on fenland roads, Obe wan kenobi where are you? Managed to drive home with main beam. I don't know what caused it as I am running 100w bulbs and they are both blown, I have also lost my number plate lights but all the fuses are fine. Any ideas?

Sorry about the language. Bob has a good idea why I am going crazy. AnywayZ, a little bit of help and advice from you guys in the know. My next door neighbours are getting on a bit. Senile would be a good description. I was letting my motor cool down after a blast out this afternoon and the Arses started to rant and rave about the noise. Tooley ,Submarine, Mark and Bob already know what I`m talking about. Any comebacks, advice and tips would be much appreciated. Christ where`s my beer. Had to get it of my chest and I thought a bit of Z therapy would do the trick. ThankZ in anticipation. Johnny Boy.

OK guys, i know after Williams post about his car getting lifted it might be a bit late but if any of you are interested in getting your cars belled up with alarms give me a call. I am based in Chester but if there are a couple of you in one area that can get together i`ll travel to you. To give you an idea of prices, as a special i`ll do Insurance Approved systems with a motor in the drivers door to operate the central locking from the remote, i`ll throw in a free glass break detector and free fitting of a pager if you buy one for an all in price of £300.00. You may find someone who`ll do them for around the £325.00-£350.00 but you have peace of mind that i have do…

I am getting pretty good at removing the IAA valve and have got it down to 15mins however I think I may have sussed the problem. The plunger under the solenoid has a hole through it however I don't know which way the plunger needs to go as I assume the hole makes the idle valve work. Does anyone know which way the plunger needs to go?
