Which octane boosters have you chappies tried and do they make a noticeable difference? I've seen a few different brands but a lot of them have other fuel system cleaners and lubricants which I don't know if I should be feeding to my toy. I don't intend using all the time but next time I'm out for a days thrash I fancy a try.

I've swopped my standard stereo for my pioneer head unit today. My only problem is the ariel plug. Does anyone know if there is a connector to change it to a normal plug or do i have to chop the wires and fit a new one? Cheers. Rob. ------------------ Black 1991 300zx TT

Hmmm. Only had the car a couple of days and I guessed I would have a few little probs. Now excuse my lack of knowledge, but I think my TTmanual is running safety boost. It seems to *really* fly, but that is relative (relative to the fact I have never driven a zTT).. The boost gauge wont go above 6/7.. What should it read in a full-on, flat out kill the porsche at the lights situation?? Apologies for not searching thru the forum but it's late and i'm tired I read somewhere that the gauge should hit 10/11 and if it doesn't it's stuck in safety. Any pointers would help Also, I find that the HICAS light comes on after about 20 minutes of driving at 80mph and…

HI all with UD pullies. Just had one fitted and I just wanted to get an Idea of what I can expect. All the devices off the pully are running ok but when I get over 5000 rpm I get a bit of vibration and noise from the engine which gets dramatically worse by the time I hit 6000 rpm. Car used to be happy revving to 7000 so it's sounds like the pully needs further balancing or is this a trait with all pullies. Ta Eddie ;-) [This message has been edited by crazy_eddie (edited 27-05-2001).] [This message has been edited by crazy_eddie (edited 27-05-2001).]

I was travelling round the M25 yesterday (junction 29 - 6) when I noticed there was about 10 small pylon like things with cameras on top of them (about 10metres high, and about 200yrds distance between each one). Are these things those bastard speed cameras which work out your average speed and don't flash. I bloody hope they weren't otherwise me and the the TT quattro I was toying with are gonna be banned!! I know the police were installing them but I didn't know they were there. Doh!!!! Anyone know?? CheerZ Chris

Ive just came in from work to a lovely renewal from my insurance last year i was paying £540 which i think is good for a TT 1994 with a couple of mods but 6 months ago my wife skidded on some ice and hit a car resulting in a fault claim so anyway back to this renewal they want £1532 this year how the frecking hell can they justify that. When i rung them they told me its because it was because of the claim being my fault and they have to get so much back as theys more and more claims. Rip off or wat ? Can anyone recommend another as ive always thought i was lucky with insurance and didnt worry about it. Terry.

Well folks I am now a member of your wonderfull club..I got myself a bona-fide supercar tonight!! Proud owner of a white ZTT *Manual*. She is a minx; White, Nice condition 85k with lots of receipts and history - all the fancy bits seem to work ok, Aircon prolly needs charging and perhaps a wheel bearing, but I got 2.5k to spend on her to get her perfect: And *feck* me these things shift... perhaps the only thing I have driven that comes close is my Carlton GSI3000... but plant this TT in second gear and floor it and it sounds and feels like I'm going past mach2 hehe. Thought 3gBrakes deserved a bit of praise. I ordered a set of grooved discs and greenstuff pads at the beginning of the week to be fitted friday morning, but their supplier kept f**cking them about, and they ended up not getting them till friday. But they machined them and dropped them off personally to me in Ipswich. Unfortunately it was too late for my mechanic to fit them today so I'm gonna do it myself tomorrow, but top marks to them for putting themselves out. They have also applied temperature sensitive paint to the rim, so that I can get some info on the sort of temps I'm reaching on the pads. They asked if they could do this because they've been reading the f…

Teckee question. My aircon is not blowing cold, just pushing in ambient temp air. turn on aircon, revs pick up ok but no cold. done the test in an earlier post: windows down aircon on full wait 5 mins and check for bubbles in window, no bubbles. Its been in for a service recently and the mech said he could hear a 'whine' from the bearinbg or 'clutch' (!?) on the aircon pump. I've also checked the obvious fuses, seem ok. I tried to listen to the rlay to make sure it was switching but cant hear it, altough I cant hear the headlamp relay either. Any thoughts before I get a proper mech to diagnose. Bugeer its hot at the moment! Excuse to tka…
