Hi Everyone, I have just purchased my 1st 300z TT. I is well happy. The only thing is that after a average motorway journey, the car seems to have some smoke coming out from beneath the left wheel arch. It is not much, but is noticible. The car was imported in and was probably stationary for about 8 weeks, has this got anything to do with it??? Could it just be some dirt or dust burning away???? When you lift the bonnet you can see the little bits of smoke coming up through behin the engine??? Help... Cheers' Pali

How reliable are your cars? I've heard some real horror stories when it comes to the 300zx. I can't understand it though, the 200sx (which I have) is a pretty reliable car so how come the 300 isn't supposed to be? The problems I've heard of are:- Autobox- Overheats and goes pop Driveshaft- UJ's have factory fault that makes the car unstable Turbos- Cost an insane amount to replace when they blow, and to add I've heard that they are "fragile" Headgaskets- To quote "I had to do a headgasket replacement on one of those before, I called Nissan and they said its easier to replace the engine! HICAS- Prone to failure 4WS- Prone to failure Idling- Lum…

Hi all, As some of you may be aware I was very excited about a purchase of an Apexi AVCR from Xpress Motorsports in the US. The thing was supposedly despatched on April the 3rd. The weeks have gone by and no still no AVCR. Have mailed Chris & Jason Prenovost who handle the order, guess what ?? no response. Today I finally got though on the Phone and spoke to a very nervous person who answered as Xpress Graphics. He said the Xpress Motorsports has been closed and Chris & Jason no longer work here. This guy gave me some other numbers but I have had no luck tracking down these guys down. I have lost just over £300 and I paid with my De…

I'm looking for contacts in Japan that could help me find (and ship) parts like engines/gearboxes or complete wrecks/front-clips for that matter. I have an address of a Japanese breaker that has the ability to ship parts, but they only want to do bussiness if I want to buy at least 6+ engines or 3+ frontclips. I know it's pretty common in the UK to import cars straight from Japan, but what about wrecked cars or parts ? Any suggestions ? Thanks, Eric ------------------ http://300zx-twinturbo.com

  19. For months I've been trying to find the source of a rattle / knock from somewhere in the back. I checked the rear suspension etc but no joy. Then finally tried popping the hatchback release while driving over a rough road. Instant silence. Cure was to loosen and reset the fixed lock plate so it held the door closed tighter. Rattle was coming from the lock mech.

Recently bought a new CTS For ECU from nissan and went to fit it at the weekend. On removing the old one it looks different from the new one nissan has supplied!. The shape and depth of the sensor is quite different. Is this the wrong one thay have supplied or has the manufacturer changed the design?. I would be grateful for any views please guys before I install!. Cheerz Simon H

I know I am probably teahing most people who post here to suck eggs, but just in case you are interested.... I followed the instructions to clean out the throttle bodies today, and it seems to have done the trick to my idling problem. Whilst I was doing it I noticed that my throttle cable was quite loose, so I tightened it using the two nuts. What a difference, I guess it's my fault for forgetting it when I have been servicing the car (it's easy to overlook). Makes a hell of a lot of difference, like I said it's easy to miss and cables do stretch over time. Check yours it only takes a few minutes to do. You don't even have to open the bonnet - just puch th…
