Well folks I am now a member of your wonderfull club..I got myself a bona-fide supercar tonight!! Proud owner of a white ZTT *Manual*. She is a minx; White, Nice condition 85k with lots of receipts and history - all the fancy bits seem to work ok, Aircon prolly needs charging and perhaps a wheel bearing, but I got 2.5k to spend on her to get her perfect: And *feck* me these things shift... perhaps the only thing I have driven that comes close is my Carlton GSI3000... but plant this TT in second gear and floor it and it sounds and feels like I'm going past mach2 hehe. Every so often when i go to start the car (usally when theys people admiring the car)it does this auful screaching noise i think it could be the starter motor but not 100% its been doing this on and off for nearly a year now but laterly its more frequent.If it is the starter motor any ideas how much and could a novice change it ? Thought 3gBrakes deserved a bit of praise. I ordered a set of grooved discs and greenstuff pads at the beginning of the week to be fitted friday morning, but their supplier kept f**cking them about, and they ended up not getting them till friday. But they machined them and dropped them off personally to me in Ipswich. Unfortunately it was too late for my mechanic to fit them today so I'm gonna do it myself tomorrow, but top marks to them for putting themselves out. They have also applied temperature sensitive paint to the rim, so that I can get some info on the sort of temps I'm reaching on the pads. Teckee question. My aircon is not blowing cold, just pushing in ambient temp air. turn on aircon, revs pick up ok but no cold. done the test in an earlier post: windows down aircon on full wait 5 mins and check for bubbles in window, no bubbles. Its been in for a service recently and the mech said he could hear a 'whine' from the bearinbg or 'clutch' (!?) on the aircon pump. I've also checked the obvious fuses, seem ok. I tried to listen to the rlay to make sure it was switching but cant hear it, altough I cant hear the headlamp relay either. Any thoughts before I get a proper mech to diagnose. She reversed into another car yesterday causing little damage to the Z but lots to the other car.Z's are well built. Problem I have is my classic car policy with 6k miles limit will show I had done 8K when the other person claims. any advise guys...

I went to the nissan home page to see if there was anything about the new 300. Couldn't read a bloody thing! I did however see the word skyline and clicked on it. Loads of squiggles and 504.8. It looked more like a price than a HP rating so I banged it into MSN money converter. Get this, 28 big ones. That is 27 grand cheaper than it is to buy one here. Group buy anyone?

how do i put a little vid clip of the beast on the forum

I BADLY need new mufflers. Mine have holes in them the size of fists! I'm trying to buy a used set of stock mufflers. My car is a 90 NA. Will a stock exhaust fit between a NA and TT? Will a stock exhaust fit between 2seater and 2+2? Finally - do you wanna sell me a set that is in decent shape, cheap and will fit? Thanks and take care, Maciek

Hi Everyone, I have just purchased my 1st 300z TT. I is well happy. The only thing is that after a average motorway journey, the car seems to have some smoke coming out from beneath the left wheel arch. It is not much, but is noticible. The car was imported in and was probably stationary for about 8 weeks, has this got anything to do with it??? Could it just be some dirt or dust burning away???? When you lift the bonnet you can see the little bits of smoke coming up through behin the engine??? Help... Cheers' Pali

How reliable are your cars? I've heard some real horror stories when it comes to the 300zx. I can't understand it though, the 200sx (which I have) is a pretty reliable car so how come the 300 isn't supposed to be? The problems I've heard of are:- Autobox- Overheats and goes pop Driveshaft- UJ's have factory fault that makes the car unstable Turbos- Cost an insane amount to replace when they blow, and to add I've heard that they are "fragile" Headgaskets- To quote "I had to do a headgasket replacement on one of those before, I called Nissan and they said its easier to replace the engine! HICAS- Prone to failure 4WS- Prone to failure Idling- Lum…
