Finally picked up my 92 SWB TT on Friday night, and thought I'd stop drving long enough to write this ! I have the infamous 'gurgling' sound, can anyone tell me if the valves are behind the front or rear removable section in the front arches (ie bumper or wing). Also, torque in my car seems to tail off at 5500 rpm, but is really strong up to there. Is this normal on a standard Z or do I have a problem. Was going to get a rolling road session anyway, but if its anything obvious, will fix it before then. Cheers for any help, think it's gonna take a while to get used to working on this car !

I am selling my Jim Wolf chip and boost jets. The chip and jets allow you to run max 13psi boost - safely. Thats a lot more power - JWT claim a 50bhp hike! Chip and jets have been in my Z for 2 years without a hitch. They do not suffer from wear and tear so they are as new! I am upgrading to another chip so do not need the current one. If you still have the std chip you will need to have the ECU modified to take a replaceable chip as the stock ECU's chip doesn't just snap out. But you have to do this with any chip you buy and lot's of places will do it for you. JWT's price around $700 plus shipping, import duty, vat etc etc. My price £185 + postage. Contact me…

Ok I need some figures on this one, cheers. I have made a cheaking tool to do the side to side measurement (vernier gauge & tooling) The rear rims are 9.76mm toe in! The front rims are exactly the same! After having chewed the new tyres since the april meet. I have to rectify this asap before the real rims & rubber arrive. I've looked at tt.net all last night to find a solution but to no avail. The car is booked in to a tyre specialist on tuesday. He has some setting for the front but not the rear. Can anyone tell me the settings, my car is stock alround, but will fitting 18's mean resetting tracking again? Many thanks in advance guys. har…

In the book(300ZX companion etc.) it states that while testing the car and it's newly designed engine they experienced oil starve problems. So why didn't they sort it out? Baffled!?!?!? Anyone else got any tech thoughts about this? Tim :-(

Hiya Craig, Hows about an email address people can forward usefull 300zx urls to..... I'm sure if you don't have time there's plenty of people with enough knowledge or experience to do the job(including yours truly...). Just using webferret I've found thousands of sites - if other people do the same we could have one hell of a links section I could have sent this to your email but I thought I'd be a complete bastard and point out my idea to everyone on the forum who reads this thinking they are Craig CheerZ, Andy.... guess whos in trouble now........!!

OK OK, I aint posting a new topic every time I find a new Z site - instead, I'll give you the info you all need to find the siteZ I've been looking at..... http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-3356733-108-18640.html?bt.Ferrets%20oft.10013..dl-18640 Click on the download link and you should be able to download a program called Webferret.... If the link above doesn't work, try:- http://www.webferret.com and follow the links from there.... Once you've installed the softwarem, you can search every search engine known to man from one location - the webferret window Enjoy guyZ, Andy

Hiya GuyZ, Just thought I'd share this one with you all. Just given the car such a hard caning that the brake pads were litteraly smoking when I got home Nice dry roads with not many people on them - and I know I said in my last post DON'T SPEED but this was an exception I've never seen my pads actually smoke before due to heat - this was cool as....... Hi Guyz, Just put some EBC Green pads on the front, which seem to be running V hot as in i hope they don't warp the discs hot! i know they need some time to bed in and settle down but i'v never known brakes get that hot. Bit concerned as i'm driving to Scotland tmw. If you see a Red Z on fire on the M6 tmw its me, now the front end of the car is vibrating Cheerz Pete [This message has been edited by Pete (edited 30-06-2001).]

Has anyone know where to get an illuminated 300ZX (rear panel) for a Z32? I have only seen them on a few imports but htey must be available somewhere. Or, does anyone have a second had one from a car they are breaking?
-
DON'T SPEED!!!!!!! No matter how many camera warning gadgets or sharp eyes you've got, they WILL get you one day The ONLY way to not get caught is to drive within the speed limits. I might sound boring but could not afford any more points on my license - the Z would have to go I've got three from 4 tears ago and it still knocks my insurance up even though they are not even counted now. Thats another point - why do points only last for 3 years but you get penalised for 5 years???? RIP-OFF BRITAIN - thats why CheerZ, Andy

Recently noticed smoke from engine bay after runing car for about 30 mins. Smoke coming from wheel arch and also from top of bonnet near the battery. I have checked everything i can think of and found not leaks etc...well that are visible. I think it maybe a small issue of oil dripping onto the exhaust manifold, can anyone help. Cheers

Does anyone have any pictures of a 98 model 300zx TT ? Also, how did they differ from the 90+ models (both in terms of mechanics and body design)?

Precisely 17:15 on the outside lane of the M6 at Birmingham, nice, red TT with LARGE exhausts, single pipes! Looked just like mine! Sticker on the left hand side of the boot "400bhp tuned, Limited Edition"...oh yeah, it was an import. Was it you? Timmy "Envious" non Turbo of any sort! ;-)

I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to find a manual TT with leather for upto seven grand Oh boy oh boy, have I tried.. AutoTrader, Findit, Ex&M, Loot and even those small little adverts in pay phones Why then hell are there soooooo many Autos and no manuals. Its gotta be a fifteen to one ratio in favour of the slushboxes (oiiii put that can back on dem worms) no offence to the Auto dudes ;-) Someone sell me a Manual TT that doesn't have 15 grands worth of extras on it ;-) Sorry for the rant. The rant is now officially over. Mind you they just gave me another 3 grand Visa so I could just stretch to Chris's Motor.. Hmm bankrupcy vs. Zed - toug…

Just took my Z on a long business trip to Ireland cause the weather was nice. Not only got over 25mpg on a TT (no supersonic stuff!) but also got fuel at weak Euro prices 55p a litre - thats more like it. I hate thinking of Gordon Brown smiling when I floor it. Never saw 350 miles before the wee light came on before! Anybody get more mpg? I see some here get silly mpg?
