Knowing how a Z likes to eat rear tyres I watch out for prices. In recent Autocar there is a co called "The Tyre Company" surprise surprise in Nottingham - has some apparently excellent prices. stock wheel 245 45/16 SO2 @£132ea and for 18s 265 35/18s from £99 for Falkens prices inc VAT and delivery but not fitting. Any comments guys? I think my 1cm of rear toe in is now cured so might invest in new ones before the current ones turn to slicks. Willie

Hope this is of some use to you guyZ, this is one of the better sites that I've found... http://www.abd.org.uk/cameras/map.htm Also check this site out, coppers reckon that radar and laser detectors are near useless, and that by the time they go off you've more than likely been clocked anyway! http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk Enjoy! I have heard the streaming is the best way. I have also heard than some Z's came out with electrical problems. But could this just be because they had eroding wires. Any suggestions? Stuart

Was sent this link from one of the MR2 boys. Some useful info regarding O2 sensors (there is also a little in the Z service manual) and prices for sensors that may be possible replacements for those on a Z, probably cheaper than from Nelson - at least in the UK. Interesting to see that they wear out like spark plugs ... Prices: http://www.mobiletuning.carnuts.co.uk/items_for_sale_page%20.htm Tech Info: http://www.mobiletuning.carnuts.co.uk/oxygen.htm

I`ve recently been bitten by the 300zx bug after simply seeing the huge wedge of a beast roll past me in all it`s steroid and adrenalin induced malevolence.I`m self employed so a bit restricted in which financer i use.So i`m seeking out dealers who use the financer i`m already with to save me account headaches.Anyway today i stumbled across a local Jap import specialist with a number of interesting motors.Including YES you`ve guessed it,a red 1990 G reg,70,000 miles,r/hand drive,UK ready zx300,huge spoiler and lovely alloys(which will save me getting any) for£5995. Providing my financer will finance fully a 10 year old car(they should seeing as it is a car that i`d imag…

Skewing the 'Speed camera/safety' thread away from the Police and towards Insurance companies, I call my learned friend Andy P, who wisely said: "Stopping distances are reduced by f-off brakes, fat sticky tyres and grippy road surfaces." So why the crackers do Insurance companies LOAD your premium if you got em??? I was quoted £564 for stock TT rising to £904 for Import TT, mention wheels, suspension mods and exhaust and it goes up to £1700. Perhaps I'm going a bit funny after all the drugs I did in the 60's but surely big brakes, suspension handling kits and fat tyres make a car safer. I think I'll buy a sensible car Tim, perhaps you would join me…

Taking the police car thread a bit further I found myself been paced by an unmarked Volvo T5 down the M42 some years ago the guy looked everybit bsiness man well I took the apparent challenge and off we went I was then driving a well modded Sierra Cosworth and after some 5 or six miles of 120 + a break in the traffic came and off I went 150 ish left him well back, slowed by some traffic he was back, got off at my junction and then saw the dreaded radio! he followed made an instant decision to stop just of the junction. The guy flew out of his car and shouted and raved, meanwhile a fully marked T5 came and he spoke to them for 10 seconds or so and they left by now I am th…

Further to the M4 thread, can anyone tell me how the police forces get their hands on these sort of cars e.g. BMW 535i, Volvo T4, Bora 2.3 VTi!!! Do they actually buy theses cars for this purpose or do they ring local dealerships and hire them out for periods at a time? Coz, if they are buying 40K's worth of 535i to thrash up and down the motorways catching people speeding I think this is a bit OTT! I can understand them having T5's and Range Rovers etc. Well maybe I can't, Staffordshire police use Isuzu Troopers which are considerably cheaper than RR's? I heard somewhere recently, bike mag I think, that some forces are using unmarked R1's to catch bik…

Had these 3 or 4 little bubbles on the O/S sill just in front of the wheelarh. Thought it was the anti chip paint peeling. Seemed vey solid. Then at the weeked got tough on it with a very sharp screwdriver and a lot of pressure - guess what? Straight thru little holes. N/S side seems fine. Anybody else find rust? Found a small area at a seam joint near front strut mounts too. Gona get greasy with waxoyl in the sills but wonder where else could be suspect - 92 UK TT Willie
