Hiya GuyZ, After all the posts about speeding etc recently, I thought I'd share my experience with you. Tonight, after setting off from work, I pulled onto the main road towards the motorway. As I approach a *COMPLETELY* blind left hander, with traffic coming from the other direction (40 limit) what do I see? A Fuckin' Police car coming towards me on MY side of the road doing about 70 mph - brakes on, loads of smoke - oh shit, here goes *cringe* up on the curb. If I had not taken this avoiding action, there would have been a serious accident. Yes he did have his blue lights on but no he didn't have the siren on. After shakily setting off again, what should hap…

Managed to damage the wing of my 300zx on Private property the other day. I have been told by several body shop places that they cannot pull the dents out as the wing has a crease in it. Both body shop places have told me that it is likely to cost around £2000 as it requires a new back wing to be re-welded and sprayed.. I have accidental cover and NCB protection. I presume I should have no problems claiming on this????

Hi Guys, Noyt good news. Ifouind that my ZX was leaking oil, only a few drops at a time so I took it to a local garage to get it onto a ramp to have a closer look. At first I thought it my have been something little like the sump seal but to my horror I found the whols of the under side of the car covered in engine oil. All along the exhaust, along the sides.... Has anyone else come across this and does anyone know what the problem may be? Pali

Ummmmmmmmmm, this my second Z and both have had similar sounds coming out from under. Really only noticable when the car is standing still and running next to a wall or in a tunnel - so that the sound is coming back at me! Sounds like a tinkly/rattling. doesant seem to change with engine or road speed. Not sure if it goes away when moving! Sounds like it comes from the middle of the underneath of the car. Any heads up appreciated.

Hi, One day it worked - the next it reads -86 degrees!! (yep - minus 86) My ambient temperture readout now reads as above.... Any ideas which sensor is responsible; The one at the base of the w/screen, or the one in the roof/interior light cluster?

Hi, I just bought a ZX300TT on a 1990... It is a tasty car.. but am having a couple of probs and would be grateful for any advice. The 3 probs I have are: The expansion tank, for the rad, had a split in it and chucked crap our all over the place. I have replaced the exp tank, and the car is running fine... but the water level goes up a bit in the exp tank... and it does not seem to be a pressurised tank..... any ideas..? A red light comes on ... on the dash ... it looks like a pie thing... with steam coming off..... then it goes off for 10 mins ... then it comes on ... goes off.... What does it mean? and why is it coming on... Lastly it …

I have a small prob; When I drive along a back road at around 35mph in 2nd gear waiting for a straight bit of road to show my girlfriend how well my new zed accelerates, if it has been raining, even if I am going in an exact straight line this happens: RPM increase / big spool up / massive increase in velocity / then the back wheels start spinning. I cannot believe a company of Nissan;s standing would allow this to happen! I promise not to do it again Mr Yakimoto, I know there is no rain in Japan, sorry for underestimating your surprising moto car. Boost is my God and rain is my Nemesis. Now I know the secret. Take out the 309GTI when it has pissed down …

My 300zx is sick and I've nowhere else to turn..!! After a mix up with the two dipsticks, my engine was starved of oil and the bottom end blew up! A harsh lesson I'm sure you'll agree! Anyone know where I can purchase a 300ZX Engine for a reasonable price?

Anyone with '91 Z on... Just read on TT.net differences section that when drivers side door handle is pulled up the lock should illuminate and the interior light comes on??? Reason for me asking about something so trivial is that my Bro had a Honda Prelude that did that which he and I thought was rather cool! So when I had my Supra he used to take the piss saying "Yeah, but yours doesn't do this!" while demonstrating his blue illuminated keylock in the dark outside his house. So if my Z should do it I will be most impressed, sure I tried it but nothing happened. Funny, every time I get a new car that's the first thing he tries and then ridicules me whe…

Hi all Having just parted with my beloved Z I have a couple of spares I need to sell. I have a 1 month old set of HKS super sequential blow-off valves, complete with box and everything else. They cost me £430 from Grasshopper, and I'm gonna sell them for £350. I haven't heard a louder dump valve than these!!! (they are adjustable though) I've also got a rear light panel from Paul Bailey Design (the twin headlight one). I've only had it a couple of weeks, still unpainted and in the original box. Along with that I have the twin vented panel which sits between the headlights. Again brand new and never fitted. I'm after £140 for the both, but I will split …

Anyone else seen this. Opinion appears to be that I need a new Crank Angle Sensor but, at £425.35, I don't want to do this if it isn't going to cure my problem. It's been to Middlehurst Nissan who can't bring up any faults on their equipment. Let me give you a description... Driving along on the motorway when the engine will suddenly die as if it has been switched off. You can floor the throttle to your heart's content or wiggle it about, the car will not come back to life. The only way to restore power is to back off the throttle for at least one second, then reapply it. All is then fine. Backing off the throttle for less than this does not cure the problem. I …

Does it help? I have read other places that if you take it off and upgrade the suspension it will make the car grip better, but will be harder to drive around town. Turning circle 2 postcodes wide. I am asking this becuase my Z has had the 4 wheel steering removed. It has been done correctly. I saw the bill from APB which I hear is a good garage. No cost was spared because it cost £1400 to have it done. What do you guys think? Dodgy? Stuart

Hey guys, over at the Australian 300ZX Owners Assoc website some changes have been made. Couple of new sections and magazine articles, ads, etc. but we need your help for the photo database section. The premise is to have photo's of every square centimeter of the car to aid with tech explanations or people looking for that hidden bolt while crammed under a Z in their driveway. If you can help out at all please let me know, as you can see the section's still in it's early stages. Anyway, the website is http://www.aus300zx.com, any help would be appreciated Regards, Ben (aka Blipman) blipman@yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au Hey I like these little icon…

There i was, happily sitting in the beer garden at the pub when i heard a bang. I though nothing of it until someone shouted 'rob, someones just hit your car!' I don't think i've ever moved so fast in my life!! A woman had reversed into my lovely Z. Luckily she's only smashed my indicator/sidelight, and the one next to it which does nothing, and scuffed my bumper. She is getting my the new lenses, but the question is, do i get her to pay for a respray on my bumper? I normally wouldn't, as it's covered in stone chips anyway, but she didn't even say sorry!! Hell, she didn't even get out of the car! This really wound me up. I got her No. and she works in the pub anyway so …

GuyZ, You're never going to believe what I'm about to enlighten you about, but this is not a wind-up!!! Just been reading about SPECCS system on that website I posted up earlier. The guy who runs the site is the leading authority on speed detection systems in the UK, and has been round Europe also checking out other systems in use. Anyway, check this, SPECCS cannot catch speeding bikers...FACT! At the time the system starts being rolled out only four wheeled vehicles will be vulnerable. SPECCS takes a photo of the front of the speeding car/truck etc. Bikes don't have number plates on the front! Apparently car drivers are being victimized with this syst…

Well, unless someone robs the Isle of Wight branch of Barclays in the morning, by this time tomorrow I should be the proud owner of a Manual TT. It's quite nice, there is a picture of it in the rides section under ChrisF. ;-) Glen. Chris mate, if you do read this, top geezer and see ya tomorrow!
