I've found a local engineering company who will skim my warped slotted and cross drilled disks for £8.00 each. Sounds like a bargain to me.

Finally got my Z back today, I think they have fixed the hesitation problem, need to try it out a bit more first. They cleaned all the sensors/terminals setup the TPS sensor, and replaced the Fuel filter, is this a common thing?

I recently had 2 new temp sensors put in my Z as I was only getting 12Mpg. It now does around 19 but there seems to be a gurgling sound coming from the top left of the engine. It does it about 60% of the time, and when I phoned Aldershot Nissan knew what I was talking about straight away and said that all Z's do it and it is normal..... although it has never done it before, does anyone elses car gurgle.....? Also when I picked it up the Super HICAS light was flashing and when I took it back they said that the 'levels' were low and topped them up, since then it has dripped a small amount of oil, but they said that they will need to take some of my engine out to find the ca…

I like you GuyZ so I thought I'd share this with you... http://www.darkforce.com/royce/lemans.htm Great pics and a nice write-up at the end about the team. Interestingly Martin Brundle Fly drove for Nissan briefly, but left for Toyota after his season was "marred with unreliability problems". Funny that! I won't say anymore!!! LOL! Tim ;-)

Hi all, I've been away for a while moving house and all that and in all the excitement realised my insurance is due. Here's the crack. 26 yrs old 1 accident last year (lost all no claims) 1 sp60 conviction many mods including body work, wheels, ECU (Mines), boost upgrade etc etc. Cat 1 alarm. Only Priveledge will insure me with the mods. Over 7 grand !!! Nobody else will touch me. Greenlight no longer insure imports. Can't get through to Adrian Flux. Norwich Union will do £2100 for standard power only. I'm running out of options. Any ideas? Cheers Andy PS1. Nice forum mods PS2. Nice to see some new members PS3. Warren ne…

F1 CHICKEN Why did the chicken cross the road? We asked this traditional question to a whole load of Formula 1 personalities. As you'd expect from grand prix drivers and team managers, the answers were quite varied... Mika Hakkinen (McLaren) "Why did the chicken cross the road?" (pause) "that's tough question" (pause) "maybe" (pause) "maybe it's a question you have to ask the chicken." David Coulthard (McLaren) "I was really surprised when the chicken swerved right in front of me and crossed the road. I was expecting it to walk straight along the pavement, but it just cut right across in fro…

I took my Z into the mechanic today for the 'bottoming out' I mentioned in my earlier post. If they chuck it on the computer again there is a good chance it will show there is nothing wrong (same as last time), is there much that can be wrong that WONT show up on the computer diagnostic?

Hi Guys, there are some pictures up of the Le Mans trip on the Nikonnet site. Currently, we have pictures from me and Warren but I am expecting more to be added from the others when they get them. I'll post here everytime there are some new ones. To get to the pictures: 1) You have to admit that a Bentley is a Bentley and NOT A BLOODY AUDI 2) Go to www.nikonnet.com 3) Login as: Login ID: andrew_ingram Guest password: nikoneditor_-285949290 4) Click on "Albums" at the top of the page Enjoy. Chapz Given that my first and only zed always ran in safety I am not aware of the true boost it (or any proper-running zed) should peak at in first and second gears.... The reason I mention this is, I am going to look at an import TT manual out at Jap Village when he has the thing sorted from the boat trip.... I called him on the phone and asked about a couple of things - the fourth gear synchro and how it boosted (cant handle another knock sensor nightmare) He said his driver had given it some and it only boosted right up in third as and i quote: "300TT's dont boost right up in first and second.. they are like the GT4's and MR2 turbos like that - only get max boo…

I don't want to put too much of a dampener on things but had to share this. I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday who's husband is a mechanic for a team that races a mini (Craig, it's the team that got us into Silverstone last year - you met them all). Their driver was killed in an accident at Silverstone on Saturday. Bad enough in itself but death occurred due to his neck breaking at the moment of impact : only 100 mph and into a tyre wall. Have a think about this the next time you're doing silly speeds - tyre walls have a fair bit of give and 100 mph really isn't that quick ... I know a mini won't have the strength or the front end impact absorbance …

My Z is still bogging down below 3500 RPM. I cleaned the throttle bodies last night and have noticed a big improvement overall - much smoother and more free revving, but the problem is still there. I haven't had chance to do an ECU diag yet but some of you guys said it could be the O2 or lambda sensors. How much are these and what's involved in fitting them if they have gone? I'll start preparing the bank account for another shock...

Some of us are going through engine rebuilds at the moment, a couple of us at SE. We are having our heads and valves done, so what are the ins and outs of having polished heads and valves etc. I know that the gases can shift through the heads quicker but what sort of power gain should you expect from this upgrade? Tim ;-)
