General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I've got a boost controller and JWT ECU. Can bigger injectors just be plugged in or does the ECU and other bits need changing? I assume the injectors are just pumping larger amounts of fuel at a time so more boost can be used. I'm running 16psi now so what could I go to? How much do they cost and how easy to fit? Are there any scrapped cars out there with suitable big injectors for my Z? I'm Z broke anyway so not for a while anyway but I can dream.

Some plonker reversed onto the front of my Z in his 4x4, broke one of the headlight mounting lugs and drove off. Only witness didn't get his reg. Luckily no paint scrapes and the light is intact but shakes all over when moving. Tried glueing it but won't hold. How easy are they to remove and is the mounting section replaceable on it's own? Had a quick look tonight and couldn't see how you get 'em out.

Why bother with headlight mods get one of these!! Jeff TT

Does anyone use a K&N filter on their Z and if so how do they compare to Blitz or HKS considering the price difference?

what is the 'key lock adapter' for? just ripped it out of car in an attempt to disengage the push button on the steering column - fed up with sitting in car and waiting for turbo timer to count down, bloody inconveniant when you just pop into a shop... Ok just organized one of two dates in November for the dyno day. 17th november which is a Saturday 24th November which is also a saturday 33 SQUID for your run and they will tune car if you want. Or you can just have a run. Youll get full print out and all. I nee dto get this going so please can you give me a yay or a nay answer, and i will then need deposit or payement in full.

On the flat at 75 ish mine reads just under minus 7psi or minus half scale. Foot off decelerating gives almost -14psi. Is this about right? I remember reading a long time ago that the degree of vacuum pulled on closed throttle is a good indication of the condition of your piston rings and bores. So should it go to -14 or lower on foot off over-run? and is higher a bad sign?

lo hi, I didn't use my car for 2 days... then I used it for about 30min... then I didn't use it for 2 days... this morning as soon as I turned the key one tick.. just to that the red indicators on the dash went red... 1 second and all goes dead!... I thouhgt this is the battery or some fuse... I go the DirectLine rescue guy around.. and as soon as he got the jump-cable ON... the car got the power back just fine.... He said the alternator looks fine... and the battery is charging at 14,5 volts.. a bit higher than 14,4 (which is supposed to be the maximum!) He says I need to change the battery.... Hi all I'm seriously pissed! Spent a load of dosh on new seals for the targa tops, had them fitted, checked the drain holes etc. and the fucking thing pisses water in more than before.Help I'm out of ideas and at my wits end with tis fucking car. everyone always said everything is a tight fit in the 300z, i never knew how much til I had to change out the battery, ah what a pain!, even though that's a small thing....still a pain!

I have hesitation from idle and surging revs when cold from my 91 2+2 NA Auto; Heres whats been done so far to no avail, can anyone suggest something else for me to try? My snooper always picks up the radar on the auto doors at Asda and at a certain set of traffic lights but I have been past all the local gatsos a few times now and never got any alert. Can these cameras be switched off most of the time? Paul

Oh crap! I spent days arguing with Nelson to get them to respray my front spoiler (the one they cracked the last time my Zed was in their care). Come hell or high water I was not going to pay for it and they finally gave in. Took the car in this morning, got a lovely Micra "Vibe" in return (laugh all you want but the headlights are MILES better than our Zeds), and when I went to pick it up this afternoon there was an even larger scrape and paint damage on the lower spoiler just infront of the passenger side front wheel! Having just (10:12pm) come in from 4 hours in the rain refitting the headlights as pics below, I can report that it has been 150% success.The beam is now much wider and deeper the spread is even more impressive.I now have a clearly visiable lit area starting some 2 meters in front of the car to maybe 20 metres ahead! and the left dipping cut off remains ok, so ok mister Mot man and oncoming traffic.I am well pleased, I am off for a shower and a cuppa will be back about 11:00pm Jeff TT

Yo guys. Anyone know anything about after market alarms etc. Thinking about getting one of these engine starter things when you press the remote and it starts the car from your house, but have already got a thacham approved immobiliser with a transponder fitted. So car probably wont start. Anyone know if there is a way around this like wiring it up after the immobiliser or something. Cheers for any feedback. Must go and move the car now before the water levels rise and it gets flooded like me brothers car. Bloody rain.

Hi guys, When fitting an upgrade air take that eliminates the hole std box, what do I do with the sensor wires to stop it going into safty mode? A diagram of the loop out or reconnections would be pukka. cheers harve

Hello Z Boys and Girls While I had the front of the car in bits today, trying to find my siren for the alarm, I removed the front fogs only to find they are nothing but plastic shells WTF is that all about, I've never noticed until 2 weeks ago that they didn't work I just thought is was a loose wire. Is this normal or not, where can I get ones that work????? I posted recently that I thought my alarm was silenced, but no I've had a dissapearing siren thing, the only thing I can think of is that when I was hit by a bus in Jan, the work shop just cut it out not bothering to replace it!!bastards!! Thats my penny thought for the day regards JOHN

If you've not got the UK rear bumper what have you done for a rear foggy? I guess converting a reversive light with a red filter is an option...
