General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Starting to lose my rag now- trying to install my copy of Conzult on Win10 upgrade. Worked fine on Win7 on another PC. Now despairing as apparently installs, but when I try to open, comes up with Exception EReadError in module conzult.exe at 0001A4C7. Error reading comportset.ComProperty: Registry error (win error code:2). I know we have some serious techies on here- which I am not- and hope you can advise! What have I done wrong? Anyone else have a problem? Is there an update for Conzult?- as OBD etc seem to say it works OK with Win10. Hate Win10 now- wouldnt have moved from Win7 if they hadnt forced me! Dave ??

Seen this 300zx for sale on ebay and its very lets say personalized rather than modified. But what made my jaw drop was the front grill I know a bird can sometimes fly into your grill but to have one flying out of it was something else. I think I know now why Funkysi sold his Z and this would definitely send him over the edge of reason.

Are there any OEM style bushes available for the suspension? I hate polybushes with a passion (although I am aware I will need to get them for the subframe as there is no other option). So aside from Nismo bushes and ES/Whiteline/SuperPro polybushes are there any other options? (I'm prepared to go for Nismo, but want to look and explore all the alternatives before committing.

hi guys looking at changing my ecu chip over the winter, I currently have a jap map in mine which seems to be overfilling on the over run (popping from exhaust) although the car runs ok, I want to get rid of the boy racer 'pop' I've come across turbonoz stage 1 chips, couple of questions are these any good? and they list 2 for a manual t/t one standard and one listed as a jwt, descriptions on both are exactly the same so anyone got any idea of the differences? the other option is I have my old zed currently for parts, which has a chip in I bought from a club member around 16/17 years ago, not sure if this was a Jim Dixon chip (or a modified version) but I always had an au…

Hi all Didn't have the equipment to pull the engine out so I'm removing the drivers turbo whilst the engine is in the car. Everything is off except the manifold heat shield to access the manifold nuts, cant seem to figure out how to remove it. Its loose but it wraps around the front of the manifold and wont squeeze past the turbo intake. It's a 1993 jap import. Any help would be appreciated.

As I have just replied to Garry about discussing Zeds, I will just bring you up to date with my zed. I imported the Z myself back in 2014. At the end of 2019 my 3rd auto box failed. I managed to source a full manual conversion in January 2020. New Exedy lightweight flywheel, clutch plate & bearing. New manual gearbox loom purchased. All coil packs & spark plugs replaced Front sills replaced tomorrow & ready to drive home Friday all being well. Art

Are unmolested twin turbo automatic 2 plus 2 imports good sellers? Mine is completely original including owner manual & targa bags with 98000 kilometres on clock. New cambelt etc 2 yrs ago - done 500 miles since.

My zed is near completion, I guess my insurance company need to know? also do I have to inform DVLA that my zed is now a manual? Not related! Before the work started I couldn’t get the key out of the ignition & it is still there & it will not come out! When it was an auto, when you put the shifter in park & turn the ignition off it would click then the key would release. Any body had this problem with the zed? Art

Hi all. Not sure if many still remember me, it’s been a good 10+ years since I’ve been on here. Just been looking at getting a zed again maybe ?. What’s the zed scene like these days? Who’s about that’s good to work on them and get parts? Used to use Jeff @ zedworld and Zcentre for my old zed. Also I’ve seen an Impul on eBay for £12k what’s peoples opinion on this? I would really be looking at getting it converted to manual though.

Hi all, I’ve got a completely random issue here. Yesterday I noticed when I parked car at work (with headlights off) that my reverse lights are stuck on, then I engaged reverse and back to neutral then they turned off. Tonight I went out and as soon as I turned headlights on, the reverse lights are stuck on. I reversed a couple time’s and went forward and back on my driveway to see if it was the switch getting stuck engaged, but it didn’t turn off, nor during my ten minute journey. For the past week I’ve also had a very wet drivers side floor under the carpet, I can feel it’s drenched. I’m assuming the bottom of the front targa drain has become disconnected and drain…
