Hi all, Bought '91 Z32 manual TT in Sept 20. Ran fine for a while until check engine light came on while driving, mechanical whirring sound, clicky/zappy sounds from somewhere around driver's side, high-idle and jerky power-delivery. Now barely idles and just dies. It's been through two diagnostics that didn't flag anything. I was aware that it ran slightly rich when I got it but it seems to have got worse to the point of non-starting. Are there any Z or JDM specialists in Essex or SE that anyone is aware of. My 20 year old dream is becoming a bit of a 30 year old nightmare! All help/advice is appreciated. Thank you so much.

Please does anyone have a fuel tank for a 1986 300ZX Z31 Automatic, ours just failed its MOT on a rusty tank, or does anyone know who might be able to repair it.? Thanks for any help on this as we are keen to get the car back on the road for the summer.

Wiki says, 1994 - Seat belts redesigned; attachment points moved from door mounts to pillar mounts My Zed is a 1991, and the seat belts are not on the doors? Has someone relocated them?

  4. I'm at the early stages of getting the Zed back on the road... unfortunately the car's not been on the road for 16 years, and has been outside for the majority of that so rust is an issue - but not as much as I expected if I'm honest! Externally it's in pretty good shape, and the interior's looking good too... but under the bonnet and the rear sills are a different matter! So under the bonnet, there's surface rust everywhere... I've been all round with a hammer and it's all solid, so I'm thinking of getting it all off, probably mechanically, then chemically and just going with POR15... black engine bay isn't my first choice but guess I can always re-visit that in th…

Hi all, thought I'd throw on some progress Ive been making on my 92 NA 2+2 since I got it. I aquired the car mid Max Power transformation as per my newbies thread (first time z32 owner) and set about returning to a nice factory example. Mechanically the car is very good, runs nicely, pulls hard and after a good service has given peace of mind to use through the spring. I take the Z to work at least once a week plus weekend fun just to keep it alive. I'll be using the car in its current state throughout summer before tucking away for winter for a full body and paint restoration at my friends bodyshop (although Ill be doing the work myself, many late nights after work t…

hi guys just ordered a new pair of these brackets to go behind the side of the front bumper as mine have rusted, I notice they have a clip at the top to hold them to the front bumper between the mounting bolts. but can these be replaced without completely removing the front bumper? I'm not too worried about the top clip at the moment, as I can't seem to find any reference to a part number for it. plus I know one of the wing studs that hold the front bumber on is just turning in the wing.

Just seen BigH's beautiful grey wide body 300zx for sale link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300ZX/393233244116?hash=item5b8e871fd4:g:PD0AAOSwfZ9gaaHi. Considering the amount of money that's been invested, this is great value for money and is definitely up there with my club favourites. Not everyday you see a Zed of this calibre go up for sale, so thought I'd share in case anyone is looking to buy a ready built car; If I was looking, I'd have bought it already!

Do not normally take the Z out during the week but did today as the weather forecast is good. Ok it’s only a 40 mile round trip but always nice to drive.

I’m very close to getting the Zed ready for its manual conversion, but there’s a few things I’m not sure about. I intend on getting the manual kit off Bonsai Breakers, so hopefully I’ll get everything needed. Unless anyone on here has one? 1. Do I need a different ECU for a manual? 2. Do I remove the auto ecu or leave it? 3. The blue relay behind the wing I hear it is bridged together again do I remove the blue relay? 4. I’m sure my zed has a 1 piece prop, I’m guessing I will need a whole manual prop? 5. Does anything need setting up electronically once done? any pointers and advice you think I’ve missed would be great

does anyone know if the targa seals have any type of sealant on them. Been getting water coming in. at the front of the targa on drivers side and behind dripping on the back of the seat, this is the same on the passenger side. I silicone greased the seals (as this worked on my old Z), but when I removed the seals to look at their condition I noticed black bitumen just underneath where they sit under the drain holes. Looked original to my but old and not very water tight, is it supposed to have sealant/bitumen there? Looks like it’s to make sure the water goes down the drain holes and not between the body and door.

just seen an interesting debate about E10 petrol which is due to be the main petrol in the Uk from September, (obviously high octane e5 will still be available) will our cars run on e10 or would it cause damage? I only ask as I live in a rural area so still getting E5 could be an issue.

Hello everyone, I have searched the forums for a few days before taking the plunge and asking for help. 1992 Non Turbo fresh JDM import. I have finally decided to import my dream car, the 300zx! She drives off the transporter with a few misfires and perhaps a missing cylinder (not literally thankfully) and i get her parked up on my drive. Do an oil change, OEM filter, OEM fuel filter too, 6 irridium spark plugs "version 7" from z1Motorsports; slap them in. Put 6 litres of V-power to get it to the MOT garage. Next morning she starts on a dime, all 6 cylinders singing and happy no misfires. 60 seconds later the revs start to go up and down without settling, i pu…

Alright guys, been letting my car sit for far too long and it's time to get it looked at so I know where to start with it. It's been languishing for around a decade now and I've finally go round to putting a few quid to one side, but now I'm struggling to find a specialist garage anywhere near me. I've seen the posts about LA Autos and Powerzed, but they are a substantial distance from me (County Durham) and since we are still kind of locked down I'd ideally like to take it somewhere more local. Does anyone know of a garage up in the Durham/Newcastle area at all? Cheers Dan

Hi guys & girls After some advise I’m currently installing new injector plugs got the kit too do them but some of my old plugs were so bad that the wiring was just two spade connectors on an injector! I removed the wiring a few weeks back as I was doing other bits! But I’m now stuck on what wires are live and ground! Need to get them right at the plugs obviously just didn’t know if anyone knew of a diagram or what colours were live and ground at each injector so I can join these new pigtail plugs I got correctly Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi, Can anyone point me in the direction of a good audio service centre that could fix my original radio / cassette unit from my 1991 Uk 300 ZX? I want to retain my unit if possible although would also consider a very good replacement unit. Thanks in advance
