Hi Bit of an update and plea for help or ideas, in my previous threads I stated I needed windscreen changed and had concerns over A Pillar trims, well auto glass came to do screen and on removal found the Pillar trims to have just been stuck with resin from screen bonding no Retainer or clips. New screen fitted my intention was to replace retainer trim and clips with new , after email Luke at Z centre I have been informed Retainer normally fitted under screen and the bonded in which now leaves me a gap where trim should be fitted. Any ideas on how to cover this without having to have screen removed again and I don't won't to buy new retainers and trims etc if I h…

So a little bit of fun here no names no need for that just an insight into pricing of work on zeds 14 years ago and some a little sooner, have loads of these receipts and some of the prices are mind boggling... So a run of the mill oil change, nothing simpler.....how much would you pay? A more serious upgrade one here, but given I know this ecu has a generic chip in the software cost was enormous.. Have some more howlers I will take pics and post some more, I have been crying with laughter here at some, the garages must have just been thinking up numbers and doubling them and then double again...Lol Jeff TT

I have been chasing a problem with my TT engine for a few weeks now - started as a knock on 6, so I stripped the bottom end out with the car on the ramp to investigate Sure enough, No 6 big end bearing was shot... even though it was a very "new" ACL and the rest were fine. I concluded the crank was scored and needed a fuller investigation, so out came the box, and everything else to pull the crank. Took it to my engine builder who inspected and concluded that the journals were still in limits and after a polish could be used. Yet the mystery of why no 6 was shot when the rest were fine bugged me. After some really careful inspection I have conclude…

Silly question but I'm sure someone has done this before, can u get 4 18" wheels fitted with tyres in a zed? I'm thinking 2 in boot and 2 wrapped up on back seat. Rather a road trip in the z than a hilux diesel!

Hello guys, recently my zed fuel pump is buzzing noisily especially under throttle and the car stumbles at high rpm. This leads me to believe the pump is failing, I havea new Walbro 255lph pump and was wondering if it's just a straight replacement and if anyone has a guide to the process? Thanks for looking

Hey folks:) been looking for a pair of front passenger and driver floor mats for the Z. Last time I got some was 4 years ago at Z1motorsports I was checking the ones with Z logo but Jesus Christ! $129 + $80 shipping is just too much. I was wondering if you guys knew about any Z floor mats that are not that way expensive. Any help and advice will be appreciated:))

I am well and truly a one trick pony I know . But I follow 'customer' remits and these are two more completed today. Not going to say who they're for but let them comment if they so wish. In the foreground is a genuine 99 spec one and as is the way these days the 300ZX lights up red of course with my unique work - both are not powered up in the pic so you could say in daytime mode. The other just a normal one to start with, complete with my red 300ZX work also that mimics the genuine units, this lights up also, both are provided with the invertor to carry out this job. You will notice this one is not as long as the other, because quite obviously…

So for a start, did another boost leak test yesterday, It still seams to be coming from the back at the top. got underneath it and the turbo's sound fine. It appeared to be coming from this thing (red circle) there was some oil around the bolt that was rippling in the breeze (from the boost leak I'm assuming) but no amount of soapy water was making any bubbles, although it was slightly muffling the sound when the rush was around it. Tried tightening both sides which seemed to help a bit, but still didn't stop the leak. Also I was wondering what the thing is the green arrow is pointing too? after boxing it all backup after drove it home…

Hi Chaps. Wondering what this pipe is please. Passenger front wheel well, comes from behind the front bumper area and goes what seems to be into the frame rail. Its a dead end pipe with just a slit opening on the end of it. Is it from the carbon canister vent? Just doing a bit of tidying up. Fully removed all AIV and PRVR components. Thanks...

Some of you may know I have an FB page documenting my progress, but since a few don't have/want FB, I'm going to start uploading pics here too as I get time. As I've said before, not competing this year, time is being focussed on family and home projects, both of which I largely ignored last year! I also enjoy modifying and developing the car as much as driving it, so can tinker away at it through the year, so don't expect fast progress. Open for discussion, criticism etc :)

Looking for some advice here... I was driving my zed last weekend, I was driving normally along the motor way then I noticed my heating went cold, very quickly after this I noticed a loss of power, I began to slow down but before I could do anything else the engine cut out completely. I had to pull into the hard shoulder and as I did a lot of smoke began to come from under the bonnet. I opened it up to let it cool down and noticed there was coolant spit all over the top of the engine. I tried to fire it up again after it cooled but had no joy and had to be towed home (over 70 miles  ) I'm no mechanic but I'm fairly sure the engine is wrecked, I've been really …

I've seen the name pop up a few times lately with thanks from members for going above and beyond and he's gone and done it again! Not only did Keith give me a great price on some glass that I was after for the zed, he also drove the width of the country to deliver it to me to ensure it arrived safe. Once again Keith, thankyou very much for your efforts and I hope to have more time to have a good chinwag next time. Nice to meet you matey :) Joel.

OK guys n gals well this is just a bit of fun really My car is going to Noz for mapping and dyno testing on Thursday  Anyone want to try and guess what BHP I will get? Assuming these are the things that will mostly determine or limit the results: I have GTX2860R turbos 600cc Injectors from PFI Canada Yellow Jacket coil packs HKS EVC Boost Controller Some sort of decat stainless exhaust system (never knew what it actually is) Standard SMICs, Induction, manifold Stock engine Manual transmission All the usual deletes - EGR, Air Con etc So just for a bit of fun then, what's the best guess for that lot? Closest gets..... some …

I required some throttle body gaskets so on searching the forum I came across a thread where Jimmer said he had some, emailed him and politely also asked about the idle valve gasket, he had this also - wouldn't accept any payment whatsoever :cool3:. A few weeks later I sent a pm to Znut, optimistically really enquiring if he had rocker cover gaskets and a plenum gasket, his reply said I was a lucky so and so as he had all 3 !! Result and again after practically begging him to pay he would ignore all my request for a paypal address !! I must also say that I did hold something for Brian that he wanted for many months, this what not a problem for me but the sale of his …
