May 18, 201412 yr Well, spent the day packing every tool I could, fluids and spare wheels. Loaded the car and ready for a 4:45 start in the morning.
May 18, 201412 yr Good luck mate. Actually I'm leaving Tadley with my 2+2 on the trailer at around 05.00 bound for Advanced Motorsports just to give it a tweak now I'm keeping it. Zeds on trailers used to be a bad thing but if we keep working on it maybe one day it will become a 'good' thing :)
May 19, 201412 yr Author Thanks pal and good point. Well, just got back all safe form my track day. Got up at 4:30 and loaded up. after arriving and unloading usual signing on, drivers briefing, noise test (97.5dB @4500rpm). Then a trip out to the pits just before my first laps the guy was ok but i hope it wasn't the wife car...... then on to the track... all went well. new NA diff was really good but the solid diff and subframe mounts let you hear every clunk and clank. Just getting up to speed, keeping caterhams, elises and 6.3L AMGs in my rear mirror and the brakes started to not feel quite right. Came in to let them cool as i was thinking they were possible overheating/fading. Went out on stone cold brakes after lunch and they we the same, solid pedal then it moved a bit but the braking was very poor. Tried a couple of stamps on the brakes and the car gently slowed a bit. I realised that stopping quickly wasn't an option for me so came in. Packed the car up for another day. Brakes can't even hold the car on the transporter ramps... When I press the pedal, there's a 'pppphhheeesssss' sound from the pedal area which i've never noticed before. Gut feeling is that it's to do with the master cylinder. May be an air/vac leak?
