Help, what do i do now, left work this pm and the car was ok, after about two miles it misfired and started to splutter and pop again:( , its not ticking over right about 300 rpm on what sounds like 2 cyls with the third occasionaly trying then going off. It sounds like a bag of shi*e, however put your foot down and all seems well? loads of accelleration and doesnt miss a beat?? soon as your off throttle its popping and banging in the exhaust, it feels like its really over fueling if that makes any sense, what can i check??? im having no luck at the minute? any help would be great.

Sorry - I know there's a for sale and wanted section, but my car is in at C&S Wood in bits and I need some parts quickly or the work won't get done in the window I have booked with them (and I won't have my car back for the bank holiday weekend or the NW Forum Members meet!) I desperately need.... a pair of front tie bar bushes (preferebly synthetic) n/s front top suspension arm steering universal joint (lower - between the column and the rack) o/s rear wheel baring (not as urgent) and (if there is such a thing available) I'd be interested in a manual gearbox too! PM me if you have goods ready to despatch this week please! Many thanks.

I was asked to start supplying this garage as the owner has a Zed and he says that they are often working on them, so i asked for some idea of prices for various jobs that people often ask me about when buying goods of me, i have never dealt with them for jobs on a Zed, but thought it might prove usual to anyone nearby their Garage. Engine out/in for Turbo swap £1,000, Cambelt £160, Clutch £130, Auto to Manual £350 all are labour only and a guide, Hope this helps someone. Hall + Martin garage, Ross road garage, Huntley, Gloucester. Tel 01452-830333 cheers smithy

Someone must know where we can get mats like these. Japanese Z's (being right hand drive) must have sorted some decent mats out !!?? Anyone got a Jap contact we could ask? .....or has anyone actually tried fitting the ones on the attachment, ie the left hand drive mats, how bad would they be do you think?

...I've had this on and off since I got the car (NA) 3 years ago. At first I thought it was disks so I replaced them, but it still juddered once the pads had settled in. Then I noticed that it went away if I replaced the pads, but when they were half worn, the judder was back. I'm told that the calliper pistons get corroded at their midish point so last weekend I dismantled them and cleaned them uo - they were like new - and replaced all of the seals (kit off this forum). Bled the brakes and all's well, apart from the fact that under easy braking. I still get the wheel wobble - but no where near as bad as it was. Both tie rod bushes seem ok, Pads are ok, disks look o…

I'm converting my auto to manual Where is the oil cooler for a manual Z? I thought it was at the front but been told since that it's on the diff at the back? Can I just fit a Z Centre engine oil cooler at the front and use my Jap engine oil cooler for the manual box? Where is the pump to circulate the oil?

Isn't it about time we had some car stickers to show that we are proud of our Zs. A lot of us have other cars and you feel an idiot when you flash a Z and he looks at you as if your mad. If we had a sticker something like "my other cars a Z", we could be recognised. The second sticker is for the Z. Couldn't we have a funny sticker like the old ones of "windsurfers do it standing up" "accountants do it with internal control" Any suggestions?

My battery is being drained of power when my car is not running. If I park for about 6 hours I can't get started again. I've checked everything I can think of but can't work out what's draining the power. Any idea's ?
-
Right i have been experiencing this for quite a while now and its starting to bug me. The car is running so well and this is the only thing which lets it down. When the clutch reaches its biting point the car judders, and also the biting point changes, so its a bit of a bugger to drive. Sometimes its low sometimes its high. Any thoughts and ideas would be gr8:confused: Ray

A mate of mine from uni days has just ordered himself a new scooby WRX STi with some extra kit from the manufacturer. reckons it can do 0-60 in about 4.6 secs. Added to that the fact it handles better than the Zed, uses less fuel and is cheaper to maintain means that I`m getting nightly phone calls telling me to get a car that is worth racing.......he`s a decent guy (really) but is really pi**sing me off right now. Just thought I`d share. Fancy a scooby being quicker than my 400hp Zed. I just can`t imagine it.

My wife wanted blue headlight bulbs for our Z'd import, so I did the sensible thing and searched the forums for tips, having read previosly that there was a problem regarding the number of terminals. Anyway I went to halfords with a main and a dipped beam bulb as a pattern. The book in halfords stated No 448 for both, but that was abviously wrong as the 448 only matched the main beam bulb (except for the number of terminals). The dipped beam bulb I couldn't even match for size/ shape with anything in the place. Going back to the 448 main beam replacement, it has only one terminal whereas the one I had had two. I don't know if this has been covered somewhere alread…

Went shopping for new 18's with SRRAE today- thanks for the patience mate  I am amazed how difficult it is to get wheels to fit a zed, the biggest problem is that of brake caliper clearance. Anyway, I've got my eye on a set of these :- http://www.carnoisseur.com/store/images/products/p033_Autopart_HiOctaneH109_lrg.jpg What do you think??? The only problem is that the widest size they have is 8"- any ideas on the widest tyre that I can get to fit on these? Cheerz, Dave

New PCV valves fitted along with the hoses going into them and smoke has gone at idle as far as I can tell. Car also feels a lot more responsive, the tail got a bit happy on the way home in a straight line like it used to :o) Im a happy bunny Thanks to Andy Duff for his advice ;) and to dave marley for organising the group buy.
