as im having the usual hesitation probs and yesterday my cat warning light came on after just 5 mins driving from cold i pressume after reading other posts that my ptu could be to blame anyway was wondering are the new series 2 ptu interchangable with the old kind and are they different for tt & na vehicles let me know thanks:confused:

Just took the car for its Mot and it failed on bad tyres and N/S/F shock absorber. Where can i get the front shock and whats the likely price? Anybody have a second hand decent one? much appreciated:)

Might be a bit stupid but do you need new gaskets for fitting tail lights? My lights are cracked and im replacing them with a 2nd hand set. Dont want water getting everywhere.

Following feedback on topic dicky auto gearbox, guess I need a box has anyone got a good auto box for sale.

I had been driving around and everything was fine. Got onto a nice long straight and accelerated suddenly the steering wheel was pointing quite a bit to the left even though it was still going in a straight line ! Now when I turn into or go around corners it seems I am turning the wheel twice as much as I used to and full lock doesn't seem to turn as much anymore ! Anyone ever had this or know what it could be ??? A little worried as I don't want to be doing 170 and can't steer it properly !!!! Olly.

Hi all ! New member here so please bear with me. I have just bought a 1988 fairlady 2+2 non turbo,,great condition but for an annoying, and LOUD rattle/ rumble after driving for a couple miles . This only happens under light throttle ,,coast or standing on it and nothing at all. The sound is coming from the rear and I'm wondering if it's just CV joints or could it be the diff? (hopeing it's just something loose underneath) LOL ! The car has 58,000 documented miles so I'm kinda wondering if it's something serious or not??? I have access to a complete rearend assembly for £550 but that won't be there forever and I can't get it into a garage till next week. Sorry to be so …

I/ve just gone full circle and got my second Z. A 92 TT import. The oil pressure gauge is puzzling me. It varies its reding at the same RPM. I looked up normal readings and it will sit at this level for a while and increase under load as expected. Then it will just drop off to 0 at idel and under load increase to normal idle level. There is no smoking of any kind after driving and letting car run for a while, no burning oil smell, no oil leaks. Car runs full boost. Has 40k on the clock and very well looked after. Had a 90 Uk spec about 5 yrs ago and suffered the dreaded turbo seal failure. So I know the symptoms. Is this likley to be just the oil pre…

i have just studied the u.k. vec reg cert i got with my car it says the car was registered new in aug. 91 but the first keeper did not go on till oct 93 he then had it till oct 2001 then second keeper is named till i bought the car in sept 2003 then on rhs of cert it says former keepers 4 why are the other 2 not named it was 8 years in leamington spa and 2 in amhersham used to be j612 rey ands its red 2 2 tt manual anyone over there ever seen it .. bored here in work cheerz

Hello, Hope this isn't a stoopid question, but I've got a hole in my exhaust about the size of a 1p. Its on the last bend just before the backbox. Is this an MOT failure (test on monday). Can I just patch it for now until i can afford to buy a nice new one? Also, I've got a funny noise coming from the top/front of the engine. The only way I can describe it is a kind of rubbing noise, like when bearings are wearing??. Its just audible at idle, gets a little noisier at about 3000rpm, then disappears after about 3500rpm.. Any ideas wot it could be.. nothing too expensive I'm praying :( Thanks in advance for any answers..:D Malibu

K - not looking to sell the Z unlike the usual trend - its been way too reliable workhorse and so has anyone fitted a baby seat into theirs and if so how did they do it? I think I'll need to put UK seatbelts into the back though to replace the Jap ones as its an import.

Next question from me......... (89 TT Auto) When coming to a stop and then to pull away my car seems to hesitate as if it is going to stall but doesnt? Is this something that is common and easy to fix?? Oh and it did cut out once too, but started straight away with no probs. My idle revs are: Park - 900 All the rest 500/600 Does this seem low? and if so can I just adjust the idle speed? Thanks Ant:confused:

Recently when my zed is started from cold it jumps rpm. For example I could be in 3rd and I accelerate from about 3000 rpm, it jumps to about 4000rpm and then back to about 3500 rpm. I feel a little extra power surge when it does this, but why? Cheerz!

OK - you must all have laughed when I tried to turn the radio down using the air handling pod... :p However out again today in a very hopeful contender, right colour, right spec and standard (not tuned er... yet). At the start of the test drive the inducators went U/S - garage chap said it was the hazard switch happened a lot and would of course be fixed. Ten minutes into the test drive the speedo failed (ahh thinks I the speed sensor has faulted) then about two minutes later the HCAS light came on. The auto box was a bit jerky initially but that smoothed out. And I got to light up the turbos but only briefly as the road seemed to run out rapidly. OK …

I have a MINES ecu which as I understand comes out of the factory set up to run with 440cc or 550cc injectors , not 370cc injectors. I have been running the ecu with standard 370cc injectors at 14psi with no problems but will be having the tubs replaced next week with new standard tubs, so was going to put some 555's in at the same time to be able to run 16.5 psi . now my question is if the ecu has been set up to run on 440cc injectors will it run like a bag of nails if I use 555cc injectors ?? Ive just been readin a back issue of jap performance (zx buyers guide)and they said when comparing the uk & jap spec that the jap spec has a 1.5 inch resrictor in the exhaust.If this is true were about is it?Looked on the search but cudnt find anything????

As I've got a water leak somewhere and my engine bay needs brightening up, I'm trying to source a full set of cooling hoses, preferably red (blue would do). Any UK suppliers that you recommend? I've looked at Samco's site and they only seem to have a 2 hose kit available.
