i have recently carried out some mods , de catted exhaust blitz sonic induction kit , re mapped ecu , i have tried the boost at 15 psi using unleaded and optimax but it is running uneven however if i adjust the boost to 12psi it runs fine no problems and performs very well , i would like to run at the higher boost if possible as enough speed is never enough speed :D

A colleague here in the office has a LE 4WD Calibre Turbo, and the thing has not been performing as it should, i.e. when the Turbos are supposed to cut in, you just get a flat response no oomph! ( v. tech). He has tried new new intake, new B off valve etc. had it dynod several times to check output curve, all to no improvement. Can anybody here recommend a workshop that could do Dyno check and sort out the problem? South west area preferably ( Bristol ):(

I have seen 2 different links on this forum for modifying the low beam to take H3 bulbs, one requires soldering the other just a piece of wire with a blade terminal on one end and a spade terminal on the other. Do both work ? The one with the wire with terminals on both ends appeals to me, has anyone tried it ? If it works okay, why would anyone want to use the solder method, a bit risky, and you have to re-do it when you bulb needs changing. Thanks John

I have a Jap n/a auto, a few weeks ago I pumped about 4 litres of the fluid out using a vacuum pump with a tube down in the filler tube, putting back 4 litres of dextron 3. Now I am going to the second step (now the gasket has finally arrived at my local Nissan dealer) to remove the pan and drain it again. My question is, do I need any liquid gasket sealer on the gasket, or do I just put in on dry? Does anyone know the torque setting for the pan bolts? Any tips or things I should do while the pan is off? Thanks John

Got the dreaded MOT in a month or so and my reversing lights are very tempremental, they tend to flash on and off when going back. I presume it needs a new switch on gearbox. Is this just a case of unscrewing and replacing? Do you actually need reversing lights for MOT? for some reason I'm sure you don't.

Hi, I am soon to take delivery of my first Zed but have horrid tweed interior in it. I would much prefer leather but at the time the best cars all had tweed. Anyone have any idea on how much a retrim in leather is gonna cost me and if not then any leather interiors up for grabs anywhere? Many thanks, Justin

Had a bit of an incident today, started her up and slotted into drive, admittedly i did put it into drive a little quickly, before the engine had time to sort out the idle, but since then when I blip the throttle the revs drop about 400rpm then it revs, like its clearing its throat. I've also notice that it idles much higher, about 1500rpm. Any ideas anyone? Cheers Rod

I was just driving along and decided to put my heater on - it started to blow cold air. Thinking that it may need charging or it was out of water i checked the temp gauge and it was normal. I stopped at the lights and the car cut out. It turned over really slow and started after about 10 seconds. Evertime i stopped after that it cut out, and when i put by foot down it made a horrible pinking noise (sounded like an old diesel taxi or a bus). I managed to get it home and popped the bonnet and there is loads of smoke comming from under the inlet manifold area. Any ideas ? Im worried it may be the head gasket! Havent checked the water yet as its too hot:confused: Ps. it…

Can anyone suggest why Chrissy P's Z might lose reverse gear and then 2 weeks later it's back with no problem? He drove the car hard and when he parked up he had no reverse gear and it was crunching when going into neutral. He didn't drive the car for nearly 2 weeks and when he tried it again, still the same thing. This morning he drove it down to my mechanics and when I drove it, everything was fine and back to normal:confused: Has anyone got any ideas what might have happened? Is it worth trying a gearbox flush? He has not lost anyone fluid and the fluid in the car is dirty but not black but is probably the original fluid. Cheers Vijay

I have a UK 91 ZXTT 92K miles black in very good condition with all the bills, right down to the oil changes. The thing is I never drive it. to be honest I have not driven it for almost a month now. It would make sense to sell it but as I have had it for almost 5 years now and look after it so well would the money I get for it be worth the effort of selling it. I do not need a car as I live in london and work in the city. Should I let it go to a good home or because I use it so rarely should I keep it until it dies? Any thougths, and what is the going rate? I know this is not the selling forum but I'm not sure what to do.

Not sure what the Zed thinks its playing at now but the climate control seems to have gone weird. All windows now mist up and this is followed by a damp / chemical smell from the vents. have done a search but nothing seems to match the problem. the footwells are dry and the heater and fans all still work it just seems as though the air coming onto the screen is damp. Any ideas guy's as its bad enough when its foggy outside let alone inside. Sean
