Looking for some pics of a tailgate tub fitted to a two seater - wondering which spoiler to go for and can only find pics of the very tall spoiler which I'm not so keen on...

I wonder if anyone could help... I have owned my Z for a couple of months now and I have always thought that it's not THAT quick. I have done an ECU test and it came up with 55. Anyway, I looked around and found a few sources that showed the speeds for each gear: 1st should be 43mph @ 7200 - I only get 35mph 2nd should be 72mph @ 7200 - I only get 65mph 3rd should be 107mph @7200 - I only get 97mph 4th should be 139mph @ 7200 - I only get 125mph (theorectically of course :o :D) 5th should be 165mph @ 6400 - well, I maxed out at 140mph, might have got 145 at a push (again, theoretical) Have I got a problem? if so, what can I do to solve it? …

anyone know the thread for number plate laws over here, mine is an import and i believe you can fit the smaller plates to these cars without breakin any laws

hi guys i need your help iam new on here as iam trying to buy a 300zx, ive just lost out on e-bay on one of your members cars. what i want to know is whats the best car to buy a manual or a auto?????? ive had a auto before, but not sure on these cars as ive heard so many stories about smaller turbos but faster 0-60??? iam not sure any help would he good. also ive got £4,000 and still looking for a 300zx anyone got 1 for sale i dont want a car with high milage. ive had to budgit for £4k as just bought a west wings body kit so just need a good car.

What's the best transmission fluid for the N/A auto box. I guess it's personal opinion (May be i should start a poll) but I would like to hear what you all think....

The sick auto box is due to come out next week. Can anyone think of anything I should be looking to do while the box is out? Any thoughts anyone....

Just to confirm that im not going mad, can any one tell me, when your ignition is switched to the on position, but not started, does your battery warning light illuminate, because mine dont. I have checked the charge system which is now fine, but this light is really starting to get me at it!!!! All i have lit up is the hicas, handbrake and door warning lights, is this right??? :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

Had a post not so long ago about early limiting, and ive been advised that the best idea is to have the car chipped. My car is a 1990, jap, manual, NA. I read on http://www.ztechz.net/turboupgradeforvg30dett all about ECU tuning and how to reprogram an ECU. This is a job that i could never do. The site gives a programme that i could use but i have no idea how to go from this to getting the programme onto a chip then onto my ECU. Does anyone have any idea how to do this? Alternatively, i could get my ECU done by JWT or somone like that. Is there anywhere in Britain that does chips for the 300? Dont want to have to send my ECU away to america... Every time I switch the ignition on, the time on my clock is different! I mean changed! but not to the correct time, if you see, what I am trying badly to explain!!!!!! I have read the thread about changing the resistors for clocks that are dim, my clock is not dim, it lights up ok. And I do not want to replace it with dials! Has anyone else had this problem or have I got gremlins in there? Any suggestion welcome. Arthur

Today i decided i would have a go at the auto diagnostic to see if it showed any probs, but alas i didn't get as far as that because whilst warming the engine up i noticed that it was sticking on high idle which i didnt think was too bad as it is bloody freezing, anyway after 5-10 mins i got in the car to rev it a little and thats where me problems began, as soon as i dabbed the accelerator revs dropped to almost nothing then climbed to about 2500 and then took a good few seconds to drop to 1200! Just had my '90 Jap TT serviced and noticed that the turbo boost gauge now doesn't move at all - even when the engine is switched off. It seems permanently stuck just to the right of zero. No change to performance however - still as quick as ever. Is it possible the needle is stuck or could this be something more serious?

I am experiencing extreme difficulties getting hold of a set of front disks for a 90 non turbo auto j-spec I've had to send back 4 sets of disks so far and i'm rapidly getting shirty about this . Does anyone have an idea where i can buy a set of front disks as they seem to be as rare as rocking horse shit :rofl:

just e-mailed 3g brakes for a price on there big disk conversion, which was a set of 310mm grooved rotors, and mounting brackets for my existing callipers!! the price was £425 is there a cheaper way of doing this conversion as all i need is the rotors and mounting brakets, if it came to the crunch i could manufacture my own brackets and i would only need the disks!! cheers

A while ago I posted asking for advice on noise and vibration from the driveline - just thought I'd give you an update. The vibration was the joint in the propshaft. Apparantly this had partly siezed which is not good for smooth running. Protech in Nailsea sorted this for me and the car can now play in the fast lane of the M4 without shaking itself to bits. However, that wasn't causing the loudest noise I had. That turned out to be the Japanese spec tyres (Bridgestones). After replacing them with Pirellis the "wu-wu-wu-wu-wu" at 40mph+ is now gone. hi when i first bought my car the gear box blow (auto) i had the box recondishend. when i got it back it reved out in 1st the garage had it back and took it to nissan they said gearbox is working ok its the cam shaft sensor i bought a second hand one and fitted it it was even worse the macanic said he didnt think the plug that plugs into sensor was very good. so we bodged it with a big cable tie to hold it on tight. its a lot lot better now but still dose it now and then. could it be anythink else or do i need a new plug?? thanks steve

Hi Guys I have looked over the net to try and come up with info on my clutch but have turned up nothing can anyone help?? I have a stillen kevlar clutch i have a stock number of sm451200 but this maybe just the company it was from?? It slip at the moment but only now and again so it maybe getting some oil on the plate now and again so i may be able to refub it but if it will not handle serious power then can anyone recommend another clutch i have looked at the rps street max spring hub thingy which seems to be a good clutch which is not too expensive?? I just thought that i could get some rear koni adjustables and buy the rear springs seperatly. The shocks would cost me about £200 and the springs another £100. Would i be able to have tein at the front and then the konis at the rear or am i just chatting garbish and resorting to TOM FOOLERY. If this is a good idea whos the best person to buy them off. Do any of yo guy's thet are going to the AWOL meet on Sunday have a conzult, if you do would you be so nice to a novice and bring it along for me to check my ecu bacause my car is running a bit ruff and i need to know whats happening. Symptons are hot or cold from tyme to tyme she misfires and some black smoke apeers from the rear pipes, revs rises and drops quite a bit, then all the sudden it is all over and the smoke disapeer and she idles and runs perfectly fine. Could any one help please.:confused:

hi this has probably been asked and answered many times before(did search but couldn't find anything relevent)... is there a way of removing restrictor on cruise control cos its a bit of a pain in butt for it to stop at 69mph. i'm assuming that there is some sort of restrictor on system or if not i've got big problem wiv my cruise control ..... bugger:rolleyes: cheers nick
