If I took my Zed to a garage and asked them to change the PCV valves and hoses. How long do you think it would take them (assuming they are partially competent)!. I had a go myself last weekend and she is still in bits. It's a real arse.

Im after a engine oil dipstick and the sleeve it sits in as my sleeve was kinked by some mokeys refitting the engine and the dipstick was cut short to make it fit through the sleeve!!!!! If anyone has one please contact me as I cant tell how much oil I have(n)t got. I know this should probably be in the WANTED - but . . . . Does the sleeve just slip off and a new one slip into the hole ok - Me and John had a try last month and it seemed to come out so far but I dont know how to get it out and get a new sleeve in - does it require engine lifting?

What a dilema :( Should I leave the sticker saying the radio is coded in the window or should I remove it? So..... Tested the coil pack and plug from number 5 against the block this morning and received a nice strong spark. Also tested the number 1 set up and all was well. Totally swapped both coil pack and plug between 1 and 5 and again, just to be sure, tested for spark - nae botha. Plugged them back in and fired it up............still number 5 isn't kicking in. Now I genuinely did read the links that James gave me but they tend to work on the basis that if there is no spark you have a problem. I have a spark but no action  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated before I take it to an auto sparky.

After quite a fast run yesterday i shut down the car after the usual sitting until it cools for a few minutes. When i re-started it i noticed some smoke coming from the right exhaust.I blipped the throttle and noticed a little more. After a run for 1/2 hour all was fine. When i started this morning i noticed again a little smoke from cold. Is this the dreaded turbo seals on their way out,the car has covered 74k miles but has full NSH? I've had the car for 2k miles and am about to change the oil what should i use? If it is the seals and it's just on one side should i service both and if it's both how much do i need to spend? Sorry for all the q…

All, I'm not at work for until next Tuesday and I want to take the plenum off my car and polish it, replace it all by next Monday (so I can drive to work Tuesday!) Is this going to be possible (all depends on how easy it is to do and how fast I work I know..) and is there anything I need to know before I take it off. Or even better does someone have an A1 spare I can do a swap with plus a bit of cash?? ;) Any advice/help always appreciated!! :) Matty.

had some suggestions from some of you (andy in particular) that my stalling at standstill prob could be dirty throttle bodies etc. had the car looked at and they were pretty dirty, but also, the exhaust wasn't operating properly...seems to have started choking the car because they're going to shit inside! i never noticed because i've only pottered around in it recently. the car guy i took it to has recommended replacing the exhausts with a mongoose system....anyone know if that's the correct choice?
