As title, spotted near Chunks house as I was on my way back home. Just off one of them little piddly islands that litter the main road there, I flashed him/her ;) and got a 'horn' back and I gave them my thumbs up!! ;) I have a sneaky suspicion that it was 'gworilla' but I'm not sure...the back end gave it away as it went under the exhaust... :) Matty.

Got a sligh belt sqeal from Cerina car a few day ago. I had a chance to look at it this morning to tighten the tensioners. I found the top bolt to the alternator was pretty much all the way out and the alternator is not misaligned so it doesn't go back in. I've stripped out the rad, fan and taken the belt off, but it just doesn't seem to want to line up with the hole anymore. The adjuster screw is loose and the alternator does move but I can not seem to get the bolt to line up. Do you think I need to take the alternator off completely or am I missing something ?

I MAY have broken my clocks :xxx: If I stick some UK clocks in a Jap Zed will the speedo be automatically correct? i.e do Jap and UK cars use the same pulse and therefore is it the clocks themselves that convert that pulse to kph or mph? If the answer is no, has anyone got any Jap clocks they want to sell?? Cheers Rich

That got ya attention.... Anyway, my car is still fooked. Anybody got a Petrol Can and a Zippo for sale....?? I'm willing to pay only £5 for the items above, cuz thats all the car is worth... Here's the problem: * Its badly missfiring * Due to the misfire it idles like a bitch (to a stall) * Sounds smoother when i rev to 3000+ Here's what i have checked: * Its sparking ok on all cylinders * Checked for vacuum leaks * No Dodgy wires * PTU is perfect (swapped with Cos's, no change). * Put me Cunzult on the car, all sensors are ok. All Solenoids Click Ok too. * Added new Denso Iridium Spark Plugs Too So the…

Hi guys, What the difference between jap and uk boost levels? I'm thinking that the Jap spec runs 9psi and the UK 14? Is that correct? So in theory is it ok for a Jap 300 to run 14psi without further modifications? Ta Dave

Turbo's -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can anybody tell me what turbo's a 89 jap import should have on as standard. Had car over the pit today and the only ID I can see on them is Garrett 189. No other numbers are visable. Are these the standard turbo's or have they been changed ? Regards Kevin

Hi all, I've recently bought a Zed, and it arrived into the country in December. Since I picked it up I've became an bit of a Zed Head. Its a 1991 2+2 NA Auto with Leather etc. in yellow pearl with 63k on the clock. It was totally standard but had a few parking scuffs and dings here and there so I got my hands dirty and treated it to a little work.. As I mentioned everything was standard when I got it, and I'm not overly concerned about all out performance (or I would have suffered the extra insurance and got the turbo :) ) but I have been thinking about doing a few mods so I hope you guys can help. Firstly, what difference can I expect if I remove th…

Just chasing a Lexus IS200 Sport along a twisty road on way back from Alton Towers yestaerday - every time I hit a bump in the road or a stone the back end came out to the left by about 20 degrees - scaring the bejeezus out of me (nearly put it into a wall as well!) Last time my car was looked at (apart from my front tension rods being fooked) I was told the Hicas arms were fooked as well. Do these sound like the symptoms?

I've never had an auto before. My mate just bought one too (but his is a Mitsubishi Sigma  ). When you're at traffic lights, stopped, is it ok to just hold it on the brake or should you put it in neutral or park? I don't want to burn the clutch out or anything. Thanks chaps. :hyper: :hyper:

I know its not a 300 but my missus has a 200sx. I have drove it to work today whilst mine is back at bodyshop and its gutless. It used to be pretty quick, I dont know what happened but its got lots of flat spots throught the lower rev range now. Is there a diag test like on the 300 I can run? Any ideas where to start troubleshooting - I though plugs - but I thought they would break down at higher revs? Thanks

What ECU should a mildly modded jap TT Auto use? and what kind of performance increase could be expected? Say with SS decat, bovs, boost controller, Blitz filter. I have seen a few copy JWT chips on Ebay for around £60 which would require resoldering the chip in the ECU, which wouldnt be too much of a problem as I have a spare ECU. Reason being one of my workmates got quoted £500 to get a chip fitted by superchips and was told to expect a 60bhp power hike :slap:?

Right guys, i've decided to get rid of my boost jets and go for a Greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller. A couple of questions though, what is boost creep and boost spike? It says in the write up that it reduces creep and spike. Also how long should it take a reasonably capable mechanic to fit it? Cheers.

Hoping for some inspiration for a freind. 300NA Auto. For some time has been quite lazy changiong up- lags and revs during shifts. Got progressively worse & now really struggles to get into 3rd. Carried out the manual diagnostic and this showed up perfect. TPS appears to work OK and hav'nt got a Conzult. Any ideas?- don't know when the oil was last changed (its done 55,000 miles- apparently)- would it do this if the filter was choked up? Any Help much appreciated! (he's so frustrated he's talking about joining the ranks of ex- owners!) :( Regards to all, Dave

Seen this one twice now, once in Jesmond and last night outside my mums house near whitley bay. Pale metallic blue with a high rear spoiler, round rear lights - very nice. I'm always in my other car when I see it. Anyone here? David

Does anyone know if there are any differences between the N/A autobox and the TT? I can't see anything in the manual but someone once said that the bell housings need to be swapped. Thanks

I'm hoping I can put a spacer in and get it pretty close before I take it for a check/alignment. I think Harve said that for 25 to 30mm lowered springs you will need roughly a 6mm spacer. Has anybody tested this out yet? I've got Blitz Super Traction springs and I'm not sure what drop they give. I did a search and someone mentioned they are 15mm at the front but this doesn't sound like much to me. Any ideas chappies?
