Hi all.... I have recently purchased a new CAS connector from a reputable source in the US..... and it is nothing like any CAS connector I have ever seen on a VG30DETT engine? I got this connector today.... I contacted the supplier who is telling me I ordered the wrong part even though there is only one VG30DE CAS connector listed on the site and that it is my mistake and I need to purchase the correct connector that is actually listed as a SR20DET MAF connector...... ?? Am I going mad??

I have genuine 99 tails which a few years ago i did led up but i had one single failure out of the 12 strips i crammed in so i ripped them out and learnt from it, ever since i just used stock filament bulbs in them which i will keep as a spare set. Not going to reveal just yet what these do until i get fitted and can show in a video but these were made from a stock 89 tango pair involving a tremendous amount of work but i'm very happy with how they've turned out. I have made fully clear lens tails before but never for myself and certainly not with led's and/or the unique selling point .

I have a pair of larger SMICs here that'll be getting fitted in the new year. I assume I should renew the flexible couplers on both entry and exit points, yes? So my real questions are: where's the best place to get these from (silicon, preferably) and are they an "off the shelf" part? Cheers.

Getting fed up of my slicktop now, it's developed another fault, I'm confused, not sure what could cause it, its like something is cutting the throttle, it runs for about a second then idles for 2 then then runs again, it ignores the throttle, I'm getting a voltage off the tps and vacuum is going, so throttles are operating but the car does nothing? It's a constant cycle, and undrivable it doesn't matter how hard you accelerate, maf has a good voltage, I have a computer ( blitz rvit) giving me voltages Any ideas, thanks...

So guys I know this is probably a well covered subject but iv just done my manual conversion and noticed I'm getting much better milage from 20 quid, I'm assuming this is due to the falling price of fuel and that most manual cars are better on fuel over there auto brothers. I was getting 45 miles from 20 quid where as now I'm getting over 70 (that was with a little a23 driving) Just thought this interesting as anything to make 300's cheeper is a win :) i will try work out my actual mpg.

Just got around to checking the tyre pressures on the Zed, and they're set to 32psi all round. The sticker in the door jamb recommends 2.3bar (34psi) but that's for 225mm all round. I have 235s at the front and 265s at the back. I did a few back of envelope sums and to get the same aspect ratio contact patch, given the Zed's weight distribution, I come up with 31 front/25 rear. Sounds a bit low at the back, anybody out there running similar rubber? If so what pressures do you run? Cheers, Chris

I seem to be getting a collection of zeds together after agreeing to buy another one, which im picking up at the beginning of Jan. As you may know my yellow NA is in process of having the engine rebuilt, although i have come to a stand still at the moment with the weather and work, but have been offered a low mileage NA auto cheap, has 18" alloys, painted matt black but was originally silver and has MOT till next October, pics to follow when he sends them over to me in the next week. I spoke to this guy at the NEC classic car show, he basically bought it to show off to his mate ( dont know why) but now the job is done he no longer needs it and i told him at the …

Hi, my drivers door speaker stopped working so took off the trim and accessed the speaker area. Got my multimeter and established connectivity on the lead back to the connector on the back of the stereo unit. I have put a working speaker (one of the rears) on the leads and no joy. So any thoughts why it wont work? (Quick question, what sort of output should I see on the speaker leads, ) Rich

Hi, had some H3C lights and thought id put them in for comparison, put them in, clamped, and took the flying lead with a spade to the connector. plugged in to the live and switched on. Nothing. took it out and placed the baseplate against bolt head Voila!! let there be light. So I thought the baseplate was the earth so a lead to the earth side of the connector wasn't needed. Where am I going wrong... Cheers Rich
