General Discussions - 300ZX Related

My mate's Sierra has a flat battery (been sitting like that for weeks). I'm gonna try and charge it with my 'inteligent' charger. If that doesn't work, is it OK to jump start it from my 300? Should I have my engine on or off when I try? Cheers lads! :dance:

where can i order some seals for the early alloy Z32 TT front calipers? mine are jap spec if it makes a difference. Cheers, Tom.

All I need to disconnect the two pipes that lead through the bulk head to the Air Con unit so that I can remove the engine wiring loom going through the bulk head, tight as can be to remove without I can tell you!! :( Can I just unscrew them or will gases end up blowing my lungs up? :D Searching for a FAQ now but struggling..... :(

As above please...... .....They have just given me a quote of £299 for a S/S (T304 grade) cat back exhaust system fully fitted to my ZX...... :shock: They are based in the Midlands (Walsal IIRC) - anyone used them or heard anything about them? Thanks Richard :cool:

I've had my aircon fuse out for a while now as the belt was slipping and it was doing my head in. As the sun is shining I finally got round to sorting the belt. Unfortunately the clutch on the compressor isn't engaging now. I've checked the relay - that's fine and the fuse. When I shorted out the output side of the relay contacts and the clutch kicked in fine (and the belt didn't squeal!). Any ideas? Can the ECU be preventing the aircon starting? Its adjusting the tick over to compensate ok. Cheers David

When i have my heater on there is a rattling noise comes from behind the dash i was told it sounded like somebody had dropped a pen down it, but unless they were really trying it couldnt have been done by accident. Has anyone else had a noisy heater, and what did you do to fix it.Also was told it might be the air conditioning unit needs a service?? :confused: :confused: :headvswal

He guy's hope someone can help. I was driving the beast the other day on a 27 mile drive and about half way it missfired for about 10 seconds. 3 days later after I took her out again and she's missing all the time really bad. It's got new injector connectors and coil pack connectors fitted and I have checked the ptu connectors and all that seems ok. It's only missing on the cylinder on the drivers side at the back as when i take the coil pack connector off it makes no difference to the running. It has been dry since I took it out first time ans I have the splash guard still in place so the filter wasn't damp. I'm going to do an ecu test this afternoon - will t…

Guys You wouldnt believe how much of a mess it was underneath my nose cone on the zed, ripped out the HKS filter which is now for sale and I want to fit an Apexi unit. Thing is, I cant see there being enough space.... I seem to have about 5 coolers in a row including the rad... Can someone name them for me so I know whether I can rip them out or I do actually need them: TA :)

Having ruled out any ignition problems I'm still having misfire on one cylinder at 10 PSI or more. Seems like it could be a dodgy injector but then again if the fuel pressure was too low, couldn't the last cylinder to be fed suffer as a result? Just wondering which road to go down next! Evenin' all. Just popped the passenger seat forward to let some poor ******* out, but now the seat keeps sliding backwards and forwards, the back locks into position OK though. Can't see anything in the dark, but is there anything obvious I should check in the morning? Thanks!

I`am Looking For Some Red Stuff Pads For My Car ,becouse My Car Was Made In 1990 No One Is Sure Which Pads Thay Are Supposed To Be, It`s A Fairlady 1990 Non Turbo Z32, I Think I`ve Got The Right Ref Number For The Brakes Which Is (31200) But If Any One Could Help Me Out Or Knows Any Different Before I Order Them. Hi All I have a 90TT import which is suffering with extreme hesitation/spluttering when hot. Car runs fine when cold, but as soon as the temp reaches normal running condition it will completely loose power on all cylinders, then violently kick back in, it will drive for a while until the condition worsens and cuts out. Once cooled down she is fine again. Have read through some other threads and problem seem to indicate towards PTU. However I changed it for a know good one today and no improvement. Also noticed that she has been smelling of fuel when cold recently but could not find a leak Any other ideas would be much appreciated. Cheers Andy

can somebody help? been using the z for about 10 days now after 8 months on a drive. just driven home, approx 10 mile and was sitting at the lights 1 mile from home when the temp guage started rising and oil pressure dropped slightly. thought id make it home, but got back and temp was sky high. started making rattling noises like a diesel. popped bonnet and somethins been burning - all the water had gone from rad. pleeeeeeease tell me its not a gasket or somethin? aaaarh!

I have a 1993 300zx tt (2 seats) Shortwheel base. Im after a rear bumper for it. I have been told that the bumpers are a different fit for the one i have and the 2+2. Anyone know if this is true or will any 300 rear bumper fit? Thanks
