The story so far, I bought a Sony Xplod 4x50w to replace my standard Jap unit and found that 3 of the 4 speakers had torn cones/foam. So, to start, I bought 2 6x4 for the rear 25w rms 100w peak and found that thy distorted at a relatively low volume and thought they were just sh1te. I found 2 6x9 35w rms 100w peak in my dads garage I had a while ago, so I just slipped one in as it were and did a quick comparison. It would seem that both the 6x4's and the 6x9's become distorted at exactly the same volume. Am I right in understanding that the Jap import had an optional rear amp ? Assuming that I have one and this is the problem, where is it located so that I can bypass it…

Hello there people got a problem. my spoiler`s going all funny on me.it seems that while i`ve been away serving for queen and country some little tike has come along and slashed my stock spoiler. And as it`s been in this lovely weather for some time now it`s started to fall to bit`s and it look`s like the rain has got in to the boot. And has started rusting up the boot. this look`s a bit expensive? Where is the best place for a stock spoiler or shall i just get a skin on it?. cheer`s everyone.

Just a note too say that just over 50% of the cars we have seen in the last 2 months have had very little or zero coolant/antifreeze in them, not only does coolant/antifreeze do the obvious it also protects the coolant system from breaking down and the engine rusting from the inside out, the coolant system on these cars is just as important for the longevity of your engines as the oil system so please check your levels :hyper: rant over :D

I've been replacing the vacuum hoses and have found and fixed one leak (pipe under o/s TB was holed), but I'm sure I can hear a hissing from the area in the attached pic. Is the circled pipe a normal vac pipe which I can remove and replace, or are there any other vac lines below this one that might be causing the hiss?

I've been reading through the English version of the Falcon Jap site, and have come across this link for the ideal lighting patern for HID's. The problem I have is that it wont let me register to find out how to do it. So does anyone know how this lighting patern is achived? Apparentley keeping the HID's on while flashing, will increase the life expectancy of them, so this could be of interest to all who have them fitted.

Hi Guys Had the battery out of my car the other day and thought I'd inspect the condition of the hose coming of the pax side PCV (had them replace a couple of years ago). Well to my surprise, the bit at the end of the hose (opposite end to PCV) that goes into the engine pulls out of the engine really easily. It's only held in place by the stiffness of the rubber hose. Pictures below explain this more clearly. Is this normal? Cheers Jon

Bit of an odd combination of things here, so if anyone can help shed a little light then I'd appreciate it! Points to note: a) I haven't tried the HICAS test yet, and I'm not getting a HICAS warning light. :) b) I've had 4-wheel tracking done, which didn't highlight problems with any of the points below. :( These are the things I'm concerned about: 1) The steering lock engages when the steering wheel is 1/4 turn to the right. Is this correct/acceptable? 2) To steer straight, the steering wheel is typically 1/8 turn to the right. 3) Generally the car tries to pull a bit to the left, but this can be exaggerated under certain c…

Hello all. I'm not new to the site, but I tend to read posts instead of replying. There seems to be good advise all around. Right, here's the problem. My HICAS and hand brake dash lights started coming on a week ago. I went to Halfords today and got some Castrol Dexron III to fill the power steering resevior. (ya my spelling sucks!) In the car park I went to put it in and got slightly distracted by a female wearing a flattering bikini top. Next thing you know, I found myself filling the brake fluid cylinder with Dexron III. Too late, filled it to the top. I did top up the HICAS/power steering one also. Is it safe to drive my Zed like this until I can …

Hi to all. Alittle techical question. I am in the middle of replacing my rear sub frame in my 90 spec uk tt. My question being, can you get rid of the diff cooler , that inturn feeds a small radiator to the side of the rear sub frame and from that , cooling pipes that lead out to the rear of the car behind the rear bumper...I'm not exactly michael schumacher on the roads and would generally not drive the car as such, but for the odd blast here and there...Am I right in believing that the jap spec versions of my car do not carry the cooler at all? Then why do the uk one's have one ?

I need to take a feed to light up my new boost gauge. Thinking of somewhere from the light switch cluster but don't know which to use as they are all different colours. Anyone used this or something similar?
