Driving home 2nite ,put my foot down about half throttle "ish" , boost started building and the engine died , imediately took my foot off and the engine ran :confused: , tried it again -boost coming on strong ,engine died , took my foot off, ran lovely . Its running perfect under normal driving but not under boost :headvswal . Any ideas chaps, could the ptu starting to breakdown cause this? thanx allan

Driving Back From An Alignment Check Today And The Z Started Running Real Rough And The Warning Light That Looks Like An Exhaust With Heat Coming Off The Top Came On Intermitently (o2 Sensor?). Got It Home And It Seems To Idle A Little Like Its Got A Cylinder Out. Pulled All The Connectors Off The Coils One At A Time And All Seem To Be Firing (couldnt Check The One Under The Balance Tube While Running So I Swapped The Coil On That Cylinder For Another To Check It. Still Same Problem. Any Ideas Gratefully Received

Hi, I'm upgrading my air intake for the z32 uk spec tt. I have been told the apexi is a good choice. Now , from what I believe it is a dry type to stop the oil in these filters wrecking the afm unit.. Does that mean you chuck them out when they are dirty and at £100 or so a touch, seems high, but if that is the price you pay for improved bhp then why not!! What do you wise folks think..apexi or blitz etc...... :D

Anybody fitted dump valves to their Z? Are they worth it? I was considering fitting some to protect the turbos from stalling and hopefully prolong their lives... then of course there's the sound they make but that is (honestly) a secondary consideration. Any suggestions on the best make to go for? Cheers, Bart

Weird, but I test drove a zed before I bought this one, and the main thing that put me off it was the strong smell of petrol (!) Now my car has developed the same problem. I;ve had it checked out and loose fitting rubber hoses were blamed and replaced, but the problem persists. There's no obvious leaks when the car is parked up - so I'm after suggestions - what do I try next? Thanks.

got a j-spec twin turbo that is developing a propshaft vibration. seems to be worse when cold. is the prop center bearing still available and is it the same part as uk spec cars? where do i get them, nissan? or does someone else do them. May have a bash myself. HAS ANYBODY TRIED USING A ONE PIECE PROP TO ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM ALTOGETHER

I ve removed the complete hicas system and after i turned on the car the revs are around 1700 is there any mods that i have to do on any electrical circuits or it doesnt have to do with the hicas

Pals me car is going into the spray shop on the 24th march.. As I want it looking brand new for the shows. Its being resprayed its original colour as to not affect anything.. question is shall I go for an aftermarket front bumper and keep the original for the future etc if so which one thats not mega expensive or shall I keep original and have all the crystal lights etc with some nice black number plates.. or shall I have the 99 spec bumper problem is my car is low and havent seen a 99 spec bumper on a car that makes me really like it yet as most of the cars are a lot higher than mine. and obviously it doesnt make the bumper look so bold. 2.has an…

As summer is slowly approaching, I need to sort out my Aircon. Aircon works perfectly fine when I turn it on, except for a loud deep whirring noise from engine bay, that changes note with engine RPM. So I just use it in 'eco' mode, which makes no noise. I would guess its the Aircon pump bearings or something like that ? If replacing the Pump...would the system then need to be regassed ?

I have got my hands on a WOLF programmable*ECU that looks as if it would be a massive headache to fit, as it has millions of wires that need to be conected to sensors etc. Does anyone know if it would be worth in BHP the time and effort need to fit one of these on an NA?

I'm a newbie here, and been a huge fan of the Z32 Fairlady for a long time. Now I can actually (nearly!) afford one. I love the look of the 2 seater and was wondering what the chances are of finding a TT manual without the targa tops. Also, any idea of the price? Thanks for any guidance.

I have a series 4 1996 Import and for those who didn't know, the stock boost guage was deleted from the speedo, unsure why??? I'm now looking at the possibility of adding a performance chip but think I should first get myself an after market boost guage. Thinkng about an A pillar pod but unsure where the best place to get one from. Same with the guage. Thinking about maybe a triple pod with an additional 2 guages but unsure what I should be getting (Oil pressure, Water Pump etc.). My eagerly waited Apexi AVCR boost controller is landing tommorow. Iv done extensive searchin on this board but have not come across an installation guide of how to fit this amazing unit. There have been loads of people who have asked however nobody has responded. Please if you could and if its not to much bother send me a picture with labels of the ECU a 300zx automatic twin turbo det30 has even a link will be greatfull also if any1 can tell me where the solenoid that needs to replaced is and where i must fit the other filter thingy. Daft question guys, but can anyone tell me what spoiler I have on me Zed plse? Been lookin thru the rides section to see if anyone else has one similar on different years but to no avail. Also does everyone have a third brake light hidden in the upper black tailgate strip above the rear centre panel??? (still a noob, and not been behind another Zed yet to see!! :rolleyes: )

Hi all! Finally got my Z back with a new (recon) engine after 6 Months!! :hyper: It a UK manuall TT.. Having let the engine bed in after 2 weeks driving off boost it was finally time to give the old girl a kane!! All though this engine seems stonger than my last on it's only boosting at 0.4 bar as opposed to 0.6 bar which is what my old engine used too :cry: ... This new engine as had all new electrical connectors fitted, new injectors - plugs etc and also when the car gets up to temprature the interior fans speed up indicating that everything is fine for full boost!! My battery doesnt seem to want to hold a charge any more, phoned an autoshop today ony to be told that they dont stock a battery for a 300zx!, questions are Where?, How much?, and do i need to specify its an import model? coz i seem to remember seeing a pic where the battery was situated in a different place to mine...Mines on the passener side near the screen
