Hello all, as you most probably see im new too these forums so hello first of all :) iam after a new car, and ive been looking at and very interested in the 300zx ive been to look at a few but none really taken my fancy, also information has been lacking on my park as im new too the japanese turbo market also i would appricate some pointers on what i should be looking for in my first zed, such as, what should i be looking at work wise? parts changed etc one of the main worrys is fuel consumption, now i know a 3.0 v6 TT is going to drink it like a irish barfeind but i wouldnt mind knowing figures on what you can get out of a standard zed mile…

Does anyone know whether I can get hold of the fittings for the scuttle panel on the zed? They are the small ones that go between the fins on the vent/drain on the panel and are like the automotive equivalent to rawl plugs - i.e. small plastic plugs with a screw that goes down the middle and locks it into place)? They are probably a standard Nissan part, but wouldn't know what to ask for!!! Cheers Rich

The car has started making a creaking noise when breaking or turning - especially when doing both (breaking AND turning) Thing is, the car runs straight, breaks straight and feels like it is cornering/handling correctly other than that. However, it also rattles like hell when going over bumps (of which there are many round here!!!) as if there is something loose underneath - sounds like the noise a train makes when trundling over joins in the track :rolleyes: . Import (I think) as I noticed a square front plate. Bloody typical - 1st time I've driven anywhere, not in my Z and I see one!

Anyone know what the stock exhaust bore diameter is ? and if it varies then im specifically interested in the bore size of the pipes between cats and backbox. Ta. :)

Got a problem with the autobox, its holding the gears for too long, for example it will stay in first and second at the same rpm for like 5 seconds at a time (seems like an eternity) before shifting up. Now chunk reckons his did this and it was the autobox ecu playing up. However, the car has a speedo chip fitted which also effects the steering. Could it be related to the speedo chip messing up the signal? Also is there a way of wiring up the speedo chip so that it doesnt mess with other things apart from the speedo? From what i can gather from the steering at least, the speedo cluster electrics has an effect on it. If I just unplugged the cluster would everyt…

Hi All, Just picked up my Z about a week ago. Came fitted with a set of First Super Weapon alloys (17s I think but I've not measured them) which are really nice, although a bit of a pain to clean. Haven't managed to find a supplier's site anywhere on the net but they look very much like the alloys on this GTO: http://www.3si.org/rotm/rotm200003.htm. Don't think much of the rest of this particular GTO, but nice wheels. Anyway cleaning them this evening I noticed a crack running right through one of the spokes on the front left wheel. Ouch. I'm thinking expensive, but I'm also thinking it needs to be sorted out because I imagine it will unbalance the load …

Hi All, Was unfortunate enough to encounter a road gritter coming in the opposite direction around a bend a few days ago. Wasn't going that fast, a smidge under 50, it was around dusk on a fairly wide road but visibility wasn't fantastic and I didn't even realise that it was a gritting lorry until I was a wee bit close to do anything about it. The problem is that when I cleaned the car on Sunday, my nice black paint job has a swath of little white pinpricks running across the bonnet and also on the right wing. You have to be looking, but it annoys me, and I'm now worried about water getting under the paint. I learnt another thing about washing a black car …

Just wondered if that is possible to do a single turbo conversion to these? as i know you can buy them for the supra twin turbo and the rx7 twin turbo but what about the zed as no one seems to do them ??

TPS 5.01v constant, replaced ECU/TPS reset error codes, TPS is functioning as revs rise/fall on operation, kick down U/S, gear change instant "neck braking" Anyone?

3 wide arch pearl painted 300zx, with lots of graphics, driving line astern down the naas road, up the m50, and onto the m1. All 3 had N.i. plates as far as I could see. Is it anyone on here. (they looked like race/drift cars).

At last! After a long winter z is coming out of hibernation. Booked into Z Tech at end of the month to get it serviced and to sort out the niggley problems that drive me insane! I am also looking for some ideas as to what to do next. Was going to go wide arch as wheels were rubbing but a smaller tyre seems to have sorted this out so now open to suggestions. Hi - my handbrake warning light has just started to stay on while I am driving - it comes on with the ignition and stays on even when the handbrake is released. What does this mean and what do I need to do about it pls? If u get a feeling of deja vue here, it's cos I posted almost exactly the same query re my HICAS warning light a coupla weeks ago. Have sorted that one now thanks to your help. Must be a month of warning lights for me .

has any one reconditioned their lifters? I know it is possible with z31 lifters but was wondering if you can do it with the z32 lifters, and what degree of success can be expected

As some of you may know I'm currently in the market for some new alloys to finish off my project Zed. I was dead set on getting 18's and have always sworn that I'd never go any bigger for fear of f*cking up the handling, however...there is a distinct possibility I may be able to get hold of a set of 19's in exactly the style I want in the perfect width fitment (8 1/2" on the front, 9 1/2 on the back) for a VERY reasonable amount of money. So, my dilemma: should I go for it? Would there actually be any detrimental effects, and if so, what would they be? What do we reckon people? Really don't want to screw things up! :) Cheers, Leigh.

hi guys i have a question , what difference does it make driving round town if i turn off the overdrive on my auto 300 tt , apart from losing a gear ?

Are they all the same fitment? I.e. each one the same setup? TA.. :)
