General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi all, Feel like replacing all the vacuum pipes in the engine bay with some nice blue piping :D . Is this an easy job to do without taking loads of other parts off or is it a right pain in the Ar :D ?? What sort of time has it taken people to do this?? Bary (Hexaking) might have a job for ya bud if its too technical for me ;) and no removing anything else cause you dont think it needs to be there :rofl: Smithy do you still do this piping?? Hi there Can some one tell me how the boost pressure measurement works on these twin turbo cars? Whats confusing is that on a single turbo car you feed the boost gauge from the throttle or thereabouts and you get your reading - simple. On the twin turbo z though the reading comes from the balance bar which evens the boost out between the turbos. My question is that when you are running 14psi (for example) is that the boost both turbos are running or are they running 7 psi each. If both turbos were running 14 psi i would have thought that would give a reading of 28 psi? :confused: Please help BensJammin

Hi, Does anybody know where I can get smoked rear light clusters please? Zcentre don't seem to keep them. Also, and I'll fully admit to being a bit of a tart for asking this, can you get a rear panel such that the "300 ZX" lights up? (I can almost hear the groans now). Thanks, Bart

Fellow Z trekkers I would like to have a manual gear box, I have searched the holy Z forum but my quest comes up with a different answer to behold. There has within the last 6 months been a brand new AUTO box and cooler fitted to my car which is still under warranty till august it cost about 2K. It has done about 5k and is beautiful also no mods have been done to the car apart from blitz filter and exhaust so it hasnt had to cope with much stress. Theoretically I should be able to do a manual conversion for free with the profits from the Auto box. But do these auto boxes sell at a good price even under these conditions so whats the best way to go pr…

Any help on this. Replaced injector caps and reinstalled plenum. Car won't start just keeps flooding + the spark starts nice and bright then fades to nothing. Also one of the coil pakes looks like it melted.

can the turbos on a zed be overhauled without taking the engine out if yes has anyone done it any help will be gratefull p.s ive got small hands and an extremely good mechanic as a brother in law lol :bow:

Seen some Jap fog lights in the 'for sale section' and was wondering if they will fit into the standard UK bumper?? One more question, I've heard people talking about driving lights, are they any different to fogs?? Thanks Andrew :D

I have just been told by a main dealer that he needs to take my cylinder heads of, he thinks the head gaskets might be the cause of my 300 zx not starting. Does anyone know of a mechanic near to Chester who could look at this for me. some one has mentioned Andy Duff and Johnny Grasshopper. Does any one know of these guys.

The clutch on one of my NA's is going at an alarming rate. What is the cheapest way to get my clutch done either from a garage or buying parts and doing it myself.

Hi guys, I'm looking into fitting a bomex (or similar) kit to the one below: http://www.bomexaero.com/images1/300z/ad099.jpg Anyone got any advice on good suppliers in the UK? Some chap on ebay is quoting me around £900 for genuine bomex bits which seems pretty good. Any advice much appreciated :)

First off, Just a quick hello to all as this is my first proper thread. Anyways, I have a J-spec TT manual '94, lovely car & shedloads faster than my old Pulsar GTi-R until this morning :( :headvswal :headvswal Heres the problem, the car runs absolutely fine up to 2500rpm, then feels rough as a badger arse, boost pressure looks fine at idle no warning lights on. Only thing I have noticed is that fuel pump is buzzing almost constantly, had same noise on Pulsar pump prior to it dying.The Zed is standard aside a Blitz SUS. Thanking you all in advance, Chris.

Hi, im new to these forums, and new to the 300zx scene in general, went out last month to buy the missus a micra, they had a 1990 zx on the forecourt (i found out later it was an import) i spent more time looking at the zx than i did at the micra, and my missus waited untill just the right moment to say, "you can have that if I can have he car i realy want" and me being the guilible idiot ran over to the sales man and put a deposit on it immediately before she changed her mind. isa got turbo probs , engine rear main leak, gearbox rear leak,also i`m replacing cat`s , so i ask you lot for some advice, do i leave engine in and just take out man gearbox , are turbo`s better to / easier to replace while engine is out or is it more work,i intend to start work on me zed in next couple of week`s and i could do with advice,anybody had turbo`s from www. itturbo`s.co .uk , a freind put me on to them ( 375 + vat ) full recon for standard one`s cheer`s

hi guys just after a little info my headlamps are very dim the globes on the dip beam side seem to be frosted is this normal? also the car has halfords bulbs in do the original nissan one's make a difference? my car is uk spec by the way cheers kev

Ok I managed to find a harness for my Blitz Turbo Timer, which was connected to my RAZO turbo timer an looks the same. But there are 2 wires that confuse me. there is a 2nd set of wire out the back of the unit with a 3 pin plug. Out of this is 1 purple, 1 orange and 1 white with brown stripes. Now i know the purple is to goto the handbrake, but not the other 2. The harness which connects to the car also has a white wire with brown stripes, so i guess I just connect the 2 together. Just the orange one then. Ohh its one of the silber Blitz Turbo Timer with boost guage.
