Hi, I'm new to this forum (and new to owning a Z - two weeks so far and I've had plenty of teething problems). I've found lots of helpful advice on here, but now things have gone pear shaped. Cruising back up the M6 (at only 85ish), a big end went. Ouch. So now it's either new shells on the crank or a recon engine. The question is - are there any recommended garages in the Warwickshire area (preferably Leamington Spa) that I can contact. There is a main dealer but there not going to be my first point of call for this. I've just spent an arm and a leg having a full service, timing belt change, new radiator hose etc. 200 miles done so far. Looks like I bought…

Hi peeps, i have a spare intake plenum and balance bar that i am polishing as and when i can at work - iv looked at the faq but has anyone got any piccies of this being done? also the list of bits needed to be replaced - PCV valves and hoses Turbo bypass kit - water hoses under the plenum Upper-lower intake gasket Throttle body gasket x 2 IACV gasket EGR gasket x 2 how much should i expect to pay for these? Thank you!!!

I'm thinking about uprating my suspension and I'm looking for advice on best set up for the 300ZX. I've got a late series 1996 (Import). I've recently added a new set of wheels Imiglia F20's. The fronts are 19x35x235 Toyo Proxes on 8.5" rims and the rears are 19x30x265 Toyo Proxes on 9.5" rims. Not sure if I'll be able to lower the car with this wheel and tyre combination. Any ideas!!! How much would I expect to pay for an upgrade and where's he best place to get them from & fitted? Cheers Steve

Hi folks.....hope you are all well on a Monday morning!! What I'm looking for is info on whats the best replacement for the z32 air intake. I'm keeping standard ish power and as long as it does its job and looks the balls i will be interested. Thanks, hopefully for the reply. Hi all, Ive been to look at a friends zed 2day, he has had the car stood for about 3-4 months because he said it wouldnt start (imob issue he thought) so i went to look cus i fit alarms and could have a look at it it's a K reg (92?) 2+2 TT it has 180km on the clock i belive I put the battery on and just though i would start it, started first time with a little lumpy idle kept the revs at about 2k for a few minutes then it idled fine so no alarm issues... i noticed, his boost gauge only had -7 0 then i think +7 or 9 i cant quite remember at idle it sat just after -7 but when reving it the gauge only moved to just under or just over 0 didnt go over…

please can anyone help me finding the right grade of bearing for my 1990 tt auto uk spec ok then here are the numbers as i see them, reading the block from the oil pump end the numbers read 2 2 1 1 and on the crankshaft at the oil pump end they read F2 1 2 1 i think but not 100% that the grades required would be 4 3 3 2 right then now for the conrods on the crankshaft at the flywheel end the numbers read 1 0 1 1 1 11 (11 must mean a 2 please can you confirm) and on each of the conrods they read no1 1G1 no2 1G0 no3 1G0 no4 …

hi,, i have auto tt, 91 this may sound silly qestion , but do you have to stop the car put in n,, to switch it to overdrive on ,,or off, or can you do it whilst driving ,, off the throttle of course,, only asking as i a manual said i had too on previous car i owned,, ps wasnt a zed, !

Have just installed the HKS ALC unit and have a prob, The car wont go into top gear and overdrive (yes the overdrive switch is on), have checked everything that i can think of, and checked over and over again the connections, but i cant see nothing wrong? Also when you come off the gas the revs drop down to tickover RPM, even doing 70MPH.? Has anyone else fitted one of these and had the same problem? :smash: HELP

Put my powertrix upper arms on last week, and finally set them up this weekend. Initially, without them on camber was ~ -2.5° on both fronts. Played around a bit and around -1.0° seems to give the best feel, car feels much more stable in a straight line. Set the castor up to 9° aferwards, which is where I had it before. Seems OK, steering weights up nicely. Overall, seem to be able to lean on the front much harder now than before and not use the diff to steer it so much. Odd thing is that the inital over-dartiness on turn in that I'd put down to excess toe appears to have gone, but not sure yet if that's because the toe settings have been affected by adjustin…

Hi, Just bought my 300zx twin Turbo Jap import 1 month ago but now it sometimes smokes when sitting in traffic (when idling) its fine when its going along. It only smokes sometimes at Idle - not always. Any Ideas guys. Willie (1990 Twin Turbo, Decatted and stright through rear boxes, air induction kit, twin dump valves)

I have my car alf on and half off the driveway, ive left the door open all day and I think The battery has gone dead, When I turn the ignitionther is just a constant clicking, its an auto and refuses to come out of park so i cnt push it, an help woud be apreciated as i cant just leave it where it is

my clutch has gone dodgy, car had a new centreforce clutch rated to 600bhp last year, only done 5k miles MAX of easy driving since then pedals gone soft and I cant change gear now, there was never any slip or nothing before this do you think its possible that theres air in the system >? even after 5k miles driving ?

hi guys and girls dont know if you remember but during the storms a tree fell on my zed ripping off the divers side mirror and denting the bonnet and wing etc ..well the mirrors now dont electically function at all , and the intermittent wiper and console clock are also dead as a dodo ..i assume they are all off the same feed / fuse do any of you guys know which one i should look for to replace ......any help appreciated .....cheers steve
