General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi, I haven't had my 300 too long, and I've only been a member on here for a short time so please experienced zeders don't laugh at me. My problem is a "pulsing" feeling through the brake peddle when braking. I don't know if this is relevent but a couple of months ago I had to top the master cylinder every week for about a month, but there was no sign of a leak anywhere. I originally thought that it was just a case of a worped disc, but now I'm not so sure. BTW I haven't checked the brake pads for wear. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

Just got home from a 2mile journey and i wasnt thrapeing it all..(its peeing it down here) switched the engine off and noticed a lot of steam coming from the bonnet..now im presuming and hopeing that this is because 1. the engine gets hot !! and 2. it is really really peeing it down and my breath was turning to steam too! dont get me wrong it wasnt smoke...just steam..i think its just condensation.. :p

can anyone help my indicators have stopped working so has my main beam but it works on flash i`ve changed the fuse but still nothing has anyone got any ideas. cheers.

how easy/hard is it to remove the thermostate?

Hi Guys when I boot it in my car it throbs, kind of sounds like those thai fighter things out of star wars (why do I know that!?) Is this normal or is there somethng funny going on with her? Also what does it mean if she is idling at about 1,200 rpm when shes warm? Gotta love the questions hey! Thanks :) The feet. :shock:

what year was the last year of manufacture of the z32, in japan what year were they last sold from new in the uk what year were they last sold from new in japan will a z32 engine 2x2 fit both a manual or auto this is to settle a couple of arguments thanks trish

hmm, what preperations do i need to do before increasing the boost? im looking at running between 12-14 psi nothing silly i wouldnt have thought. can the clutch take it etc? cheers

when i used to come on years ago i remember other people having this fault and them changing a valve to solve the problem but for the life of me cant remember which can any one remember please? Thanks Si

now i know u fellow members on here might here this all the time but what disk and pad brake conversion is the best for my zed twinturbo.the power has been up'd :) and i can now tell it time to updrade my brakes :shock: ,tho i dont wont to do the calipers. there are so many drilled and grooved sets out there but wot do u guys say? cheers

Sorry i have only had my z a week and i cant find this in the manual anywhere. I'm probably being stupid but what goes in here?

just a quick question for those who have got one. the aftermarket shifters, do they have a slight bend in the rod that comes from the tube that holds the bushings in? on a standard zed gearstick there is a slight bend to the rod but in all the pics i have seen of the short shifters they dont seem to have this bend. is that so? thanks si

Hi Guys I have my second zx now and love em but my had gasket just went, had to get it towed all the way from stoke on trent to tunbridge wells - at least I did not have to pay for the petrol on her! lol Seeing as I have to spend a wedge do you have any advice if I should get anything checked out, where I should get it done, how much I should pay etc??? I have just fitted new rear lights and there are no reflectors and wondered if anyone knows the legal requirements as to where they have got to be? ie: how high and how near to the outer edge of the car should they be. Thanks

Hi. Just got the zed back after getting new TT engine and autobox in. Driving home te other night from work I decided to stick my foot down a little, car went like stink, good but when I got back home to check the levels I noticed that the engine oil dip stick had come out of the dip stick pipe by about half an inch and the same thing happened to the autobox stick, could this be because they are over filled. Also I now have a huge water leak and over the course of the week as it was parked in the garage I notice nearly all of the water had drained out. Checked to see where the water was leaking and it seems to be coming from the back of the engine in the midd…

Right im getting it in the neck because someone has a Zed like mine and driving it like a chav (I personaly don't care how you drive it) in the Llangefni area. I've been offered a GTR R34 brake setup for decent money and the seller has revealed the following... Is this conversion an issue or will they be a direct bolt on? Have already checked caliper clearance and this is fine with my wheels! Any input appreciated as always :D CheerZ Steve :)

I can't help but notice that most of the z32's I see are 1990 models. With that in mind is there a year where the car was at its peak? Or are they prety much all the same performance wise? Al
