Hello all, new starter here, I'm after a nice black zx to do an engine transplant in. I have the engine but decided to scrap the car (Granada), and put engine and box into something decent! After a lot of searching I'm still a bit confused as to what the differences between turbo and non turbo are. I ask cos there's a nice non turbo for sale near me at the mo. What would I need to change to get the running gear up to turbo spec? I read there are some bodywork differences too, are these cosmetic or structural? Any idea how much power (torque) the turbo axle will take. My engine has a supercharger fitted and kicks out around 500hp. Any advice gratefully …

Can you get a 6 speed box or conversion for the z32? I have loads of power left over in 5th gear at 50mph + and the car could easily handle another gear. Most my traveling is at 75mph + and another gear would probably save me a load in fuel each year. I'm at 3500 rpm at 80mph and it seems a little high for the v6. Any ideas?

I think my Zed is running a bit rich at top end. When I give it some stick it sometimes makes an extremely loud BANG as I change up a gear. I presume that this is the excess fuel burning off as it comes out of the exhausts. Apart from fuel consumption is this bad in anyway? Also, I haven't seen this happening yet only heard it. Would it look anything like this photo of Chunk's flames? (stolen from Z Club) Thanks, Mike...

Hi guys. Eventually found the fuse box in the interior. (glad i bought that manual off ebay would never have found it.) Guess you aint supposed to blow a fuse. As the plan is in japanesse had to remove all the fuses to find which one I had blown. This involves kneeling down on the kerb getting wet and fiddling around behind the throttle pedal. Will remove the battery cable next time I am working on the sparks. Was only trying to remove the boing noise. :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal Think I have done it though but wont find out till i get another fuse. While i'm on anybody know which wire is…

I'm pressuming its the dredded turbo, but i would like a second and different opinion please! When the car is left idling for about 5 mins when hot, it begins to smoke out of the right hand exhaust, after pulling away it clears. The turbos were both re-cond about 9'ooo miles ago, its on standard tubs, de-cats, filter exhaust, stage 1 chip. Thanks for any help, STEVE

I know this isn't intrinsically Zed related as it's to do with the alarm but... I went to lock my Zed with the cobra remote today and it made a really high pitched beeeeeeeeeeeep! which wouldn't stop. When I opened it again it made two shorter high pitched beeps then stopped. I closed it again and.... beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep! I left it to beep away and after about 30 seconds it stopped. I went indoors and then 2 minutes later the alarm went all guns blazing, which the neighbours must have loved as we've only just moved here! Anyway - anyone know about cobra alarms on Zeds and why this might be happening? I've got a little stick thingy on the keyring that I think…

Im going to have a stab at cleaning the bodies and IAV and resetting my TPS and base idle. Ive already set my base idle and TPS but to do a 'proper' job i want to clean the TB and IAV and i wil reset the idle and TPS again afterward My question is when ive cleaned the TB's and IAV should i leave the TPS and Base idle alone for a while? as i ve heard the cleaning process may give a higher idle for a while? Chers guys Adam

Hi all, I know there's a few posts about autoboxes at tho mo.. Just wondered if there symptoms of an autobox 'going'.. I only say as sometimes when i put my foot down, it doesnt kick down, and also tonight on my way back from work, im sure it was missing a gear.. then other times, it seems perfectly fine..dont know if its just me as its my first auto car.. its a '90 TT Jap Auto - no cooler installed, yet..also i've no idea when the autobox oil was last replaced, if ever, so is it just worth, getting it changed anyway? Ta in advance.. Ed
