General Discussions - 300ZX Related

A friend of mine ran into a bit of bother today. He has a series 1 UK manual. It was driving fine for the most part of the day until he was pulling into a car park and the car started to loose power. He tried to give it some throttle but it just jerked slightly and wouldn’t take any power. The car then came to a slow stop. It didn’t over heat, good oil pressure and plenty of water in the radiator. Any suggestions??

Anyone know the rough BHP with the following: Apexi Induction Mongoose Exhaust ECU Upgrade Profec B 2 Spec (1bar) Lightweight U/D Pulley Lightened Flywheel Removed that metal bar in the back hatch.... I'm guessing the F/W and pulley don't actually increase BHP?????

i have a pair of these valves. does anyone know anywhere that will fit them for me? and how much? cheers

Changed the front side light bulbs for PIAA ultra white which now look very cool, checked the number plate lights to find one was out and one very dim. Replaced for new ones and discovered if you do this and turn the unit and plastic cover round for each light round 180 degrees you get more light onto the number plate and new bulbs makes it much brighter!!!!!! I can see everyone doing it this weekend!!!!!!

Hi guys, trying to fit a pair of DV36 Dump valves on my ride. My problem is the fitting kit supplied has incorrect size connector pipe. The pipe is 32mm and the outlet pipe for the original Nissan DV's is 35mm. Spoken to Bailey who tell me fitting kit is standard. Any body else had this problem and any advice to offer?

Hey all. I have a N15 Pulsar(Almera GTi) and I'm trying to work out a decent brake upgrade. I was thinking of 200sx calipers and I did a bit or research and I came across that the ZX calipers are alloy and so should be lighter. What I'm looking for here is a bit of info. Whats the difference in calipers on the ZX? I was told theres at least 2 types. If so are they all alloy or are some cast? Is there any other differences? What distance is between mounting holes on the calipers? Also what are the specs on the standard discs? eg diameter, width etc. Any other info you can give will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Since getting my car on the road for this season a seem to have a problem with my boost controller. As soon as i acclerate hard the alarms sounds and the car starts jerking! When i had the boost controller fitted the alarm was set @ 16 and still is... any body no what can be done.... none of the settings have been altered since it was installed last year!!! and the car was perfect. cheers Dave

I’ve just ordered a UK spec speedo, I already have one of Andy’s chips in, so to install the speedo do I simply replace the unit and remove the converter? Thanks David

Black Z at the lights of Staples corner 02:50 this morning. Reg PKZ ****. Gave me the thumbs up and turned off down the 406. I was in the white transit connect not my Z unfortunately but work pay for the diesel. Darrell

I stripped balance tube tapped holes :o . So I'll plug them with a tig and tap them back. My question is, do I have to remove module (ecu,etc.) before processing the welds to prevent damaging them?

I was behind you tonight from Brent Knoll to Pawlett in a silver RX-7, did you know it was me? You've obviously changed the jap rubber you were rolling on last time I saw you! Gotta say it's a nice change to have a burn with someone who can drive proper, that Z shifts, what mods have you done it can't be stock I know that!

Greetings, I need your help guys and gals. My Z has got twin oval Blue Flame exhausts. I would like to fit a rear bumper or even an add on skirt. However I don't know which ones would be compatible as paranoid that the tips won't fit through the bumper/skirt holes etc. Can someone please steer me in the right direction and confirm what bumpers/skirts I can have and wheres the best place to source them from. Many thanks in advance.

I went to unlock my car and the alarm disarmed but the doors did not unlock. I thought doh central locking has gone probably the fuse ill just unlock the door with the key. The key turns the lock both ways (never used it before) and would not unlock doh! I then tried the passenger door with the key and it opened fine. So I crawled over to unlock the drivers door but the lock would not budge from the inside either - S*&T! I then armed/disarmed the alarm with the fob a few times and the alarm works fine but no central locking at all. So it seems my drivers door lock is jammed stopping it all from working. I take it the lock should still move manuall…

getting worse last couple of weeks, doesn't stall on high speed or generally when engine is warm. Find if I brake very gently it's OK but any hard braking of any kind when cold she cuts out. Any ideas?

Just tried the speed trial function on Datascan 0-60 in 5.66 seconds. Not bad for a stock Twin Turbo I thought! Anyone know how to do a data log in graph form? anyone else have problems with software crashing or saying invalid port no. at odd times? (removing and reconnecting lead seems to clear the fault)

I'm looking for a pair of door mirrors - the kind that are aerodynamically fashioned and let the air pass through the mounting. I've looked on the Z Centre website and seen them on some of the featured cars but cant find an option to purchase. I'll drop Z Centre an email - but if anyone can recommend an alternate source - or if anyone is selling a pair - can you let me know. Cheers. Ken :bow:

Can anyone tell me what the green wire thats coming out of the rear center panel is for ? If its to light up thr 300zx logo, why is there only one wire ? :headvswal just bought this one because old one damaged .cheers
