Help!!!!! I'm based up in the Newcastle on Tyne area and would love to know if there are any good mechanics or garages that know what they are doing with the ZX. Preferably one's that don't try to rip you off as soon as they see what you are driving!!!! I have a few problems with my 90 tt and am no mechanic myself. Any suggestions please.

Whilst fitting new rose jointed tension rods today, I noticed that the drivers side Transverse Link had some movement in it (suspension member end, not the wheel hub end), the nearside was solid. It moved in and out in the direction of the centre of the car to the wheel. What needs to be replaced here? Also, how easy is it to do? Thanks David

Hey there Recently installed a new engine in my Zed and now the 'Light' is constantly lit on the dashboard. Any advice on what this could mean? Thanks

:rant: Ok Guys, As some of you may know I've been having nothing but trouble with my jap TT auto. Since December 05 I've had the timing belt split and replaced. The car ran fine for a couple of weeks and then started playing up again. It keeps dying on me (as in ,it loses power and then stops completely) The engine coolant sensor has been changed as the old one had damaged and corroded pins, the PTU has been upgraded to a series 2 item and the alternator was sent off to be repaired( had brushes replaced). I went to collect it this evening and I was told it was charging fine.. I drove for about 1 mile and the damn thing konked out again!! :rant: What the hell can i do to …

Hi guys, I have just had a Clifford 650 fitted. Wow, has it caused some problems! Its not the alarm, but the fitter. Granted, he has worked very hard but I think this was his first Clifford install. He is an approved Clifford fitter but has just taken over from the previous shop. Firstly, I took the car to the shop at 9am sharp. He was on time and I left the car in his capable hands. I came to collect the car after work, which was about 5:30pm. To my surprise he wasnt finished. In fact, far from finished! He said to come back in an hour. just a quick question... probably been asked loads of times before but would i need a harness for my turbo timer in order to install it on my 300zx import? if so, where would i find one? ta J.

Does anyones have heard of a na to tt swap with the NA AC pipe routing? it seems to interfer with the intercooler pipe... Mainly I dont want to release the ac gaz and buy a tt pipe. Can i bend the AC pipes without damaging them if it wont fit? Will it be enought to make it fit?

Anyone know where I can get this - running XP on laptop and when I plug in usb cable it asks for drivers?? Thanks

I had been suffering with slight to huge judders from the front since i had my zed from last october. It got really bad in the past 2 months above 60mph. Last week i fitted adjustable front upper suspension links with a spirit level heh, and i think i got the camber bang on. But the ride was still awfull above 60mph. So today i got replacement Falken 451 ZR-Y's fitted on the front and by gum the difference is massive. The zed now rides as true as a bullet and well balanced. I feel like i have a new car lol. The chilling thing is that the negative camber was warping my tyres. I could have had a blow out. I did not realise now ruined my tyres were until i took …

WHile i was having my wheels balanced i noticed this leak from the rear drivers side of the car. Looks like some kind of oil cooler maybe? Just wondering what it is and how serious this leak is likely to be (never noticed any dripping from under the car)

ok .got datascan from group buy the other day and it doesnt connect to my ecu. so thinking it might be cable or software i met up with someone who else has datascan and after 15 mins of testing ,his datascan didnt work on mine aswell but my datascan worked on his etc. he has also tryed it on his mates tt and it doesnt work on that also. but the strange thing is both cars that it doesnt work on have had a consult put on them not long ago and that was fine. the only difference to the car it works on is thats a series 1 and the others are series 2 one being a n/a. i have contacted blazt and they dont know yet and looking into it . thanks

I've learned today that skyline R34 and R33 also use a HICAS. I was wondering if the hicas eliminator of the Z32 can work on a skyline? thank you

Hello m8 in reply to earlier i had the AA out looking at the motor there and it seems to be the temp sensor is malfunctioning causing the car to think it is cold and therefore causing the car to flood itself by over dosing on the fuel there is a constant smell of petrol so i would advice you to look out for the smell of fuel on your m8s car and if you smell fuel it is prob the temp sensor.

I've been having some trouble with the Datascan software. It thinkx i'm moving much slower than I actually am. For example when I'm doing 30MPH, it thinks I'm doing 20 MPH (roughly). This makes the software a bit useless! I have changed he settings from KPH to MPH on the preferences.. but that didn't help. I'm guessing it might have something to do with how my car was converted to MPH from KPH...but I have no idea how this was done. It was converted by SVA UK when i first imported it. Has anyone got any idea on how I could fix this?

Hi there, Just thinking about changing my spoiler for a 99 spec one but i have the standard series 3 spoiler still on(pictured below).Does any body know if the 99 spec fits straight on to the original tailgate mounting points? Many thanks

had the Zed on the road for a couple of days and when driving it today, i started having problems after driving it for about 40miles, mostly on the motorway. once i got to a built up area and stop-startin at the lights i was putting the auto-box into neutral, then when putting it back into drive to pull away the gearbox was sometimes staying in neutral and delaying engaging drive. occasionaly the only way to get it into drive was to stop the engine for a 30secs, restarting it then it would be ok for 10-15mins or so. the gearbox was also dropping out of drive when in slow moving traffic or stopping with it still in drive. was ok once back on the motorway on the way h…

OK heres the thing. I was trying to fit a delimiter chip behind the speedo. I also took the boing noise wire out as desribed while I was there. I managed to blow a fuse while doing this. The problem now is that I have no speedo, no rev counter boost gauge or oil gauge. There is power to the back of the gauges on ignition but they won't work. The only light to come on is the battery light but only once the engine has been started. The light that comes on for the brakes dosen't work either. Ihave taken the delimiter out and returned all the wires as they were but with no joy. It is a 1990 TT Jap import. Please help me as I can't drive my car like this. D…

Ok guys i was having problems with the battery this past few days so i left it on charge last night got it totally charged and put it back in the car today started the car first tick and drove about for a while then the car started cutting out on me and wouldnt even tick over until i turned the key off for a few mins then it started again, then when i parked it it cut out on me before i turned the ignition off and hasnt started since it just keeps turning over but wont start need help plz.....

Has anyone fitted 20 inch alloys or knows of anyone with 20" on their Z32s ? Just wanted to know if this was possible or not. Wondering what needs to be modified on the car for these sizes and how costly is this. Cheers

heres why coolant is so vital in the longetivity of your engine,pic of waterpump shows heavy deposits of rust and muck that accumilated,the car in question,kept overheating obviously there was no waterleak,so only way was to strip it down,almost all water channels were clogged in the block and in turn buckled the heads aswell ,so just because you dont have a leak,does not mean your z wont overheat,use antifreeze :headvswal ;) Excuse the pic quality,camera phone :o greg
