Would a uk ecu fit directly in place of a jap import ecu? ie uk tt for import tt?Would it take the limiter off make any diff what so ever?

I’ve just fitted my UK speedo and feel like it’s the best £120 I’ve spent on the car, I was expecting the cruise control to kick in at 30MPH rather than 48MPH, and maybe to notice some difference in the steering, but what has surprised me is the performance. The engine is revving differently through the gears, and overall it feels noticeably better. It is this to be expected after changing to a UK speedo? Thanks David

Have got a problem with the back wheels. I have recently replaced the rear passenger side wheel bearing and hub. But now iv'e done a couple of miles(8) both rear wheels have vertical play in them. Could this be something as simple as the centre nuts not been tight enough or would you think there is another problem? Any help will be appreciated.

any one in the sailsbury area fitted the seat covers of ebay fron the chap in scotland..got mine today but might need a hand doing tomm or sunday...cheers chris

Doing my rear brakes and ive noticed a little play in the rear hub/wheel. Ive heard there is no adjustment on the raer wheel bearing, is this true, and has anyone payed the asking price of £122 for a wheel bearing and carrier.

It sounds like my exhaust is blowing around the middle of the front section of the exhaust, until I get under the car I can't really tell, but it''s got me all exited now about the possibilities. My car has done 89K miles without missing a beat, no blue smoke anywhere. Now the question - on 89K tubs, would you replace the front section with decats and risk the oil seals or get some second hand (hopefully good condition) replacement pipes with cats on? Hmm. :confused:

Hi guys I know there is a lot of talk about whether to decat or not. However, I dont know if I want to risk de-catting mine incase the tubs go. Is it really worth it for an extra 10 bhp and risk a £1500 payout for new tubs? Why not just concentrate on good induction, and boost controller instead? I am thinking about getting sports catalysts! Surely, they should give some exta BHP, shouldnt damage the tubs, and shouldnt cause MOT problems! Or is it just wishful thinking? Clicky What is everyones opinions on Sports Catalysts? Has anyone got them? Any recommendations?

Right I'm moving on from my previous thread of "LOSS OF POWER" I have now removed the Crank Angle sensor and doing the test. When I turn the senor by hand I can only hear, what seems to be two clicks! Can anyone tell me how many I should be hearing? I have also freed the PTU unit for inspection, is there any tell tale signs that its a series 1 or series 2 unit? I see a few numbers on the casing but no dates as such.

I seem to have disabled the siren on my alarm somehow? :confused: Does anyone have one of these alarms and can advise what I may have done? (I have no instruction manual for it). I'm guessing I've pressed some combination of buttons on the fob and switched it off. Its the model with the fob like this... Thanks, Gareth

On A45 Northampton i headed towards M1 saw a dark ZX think went off on sliproad near the beacon station?

Im about to put a manual boost controller on my 300zx now so i can up the boost a little until i get an electronic controller. Can anyone tell me where to put this? I know it goes on the pipe between the housing and actuator but having two turbos not sure how this works, presumably the pipes are joined so i only need one?? If so where abouts is the pipework located that i can reach easily!?!?!?

I’m planning to fit my UK clocks this weekend, and was going to replace all of the bulbs now, to save changing them as and when the go, but before I rush of to Nissan and buy standard bulbs are there any recommended improvements (led etc). I know that its down to personal taste, but I’d be grateful for some ideas and to know what options there are to improve the clocks. Thanks David

Hi, can anyone help? purchased 6 pot LED lights from the Z centre the wiring instructions arnt very clear, or maybe im fik! Has anyone got experience in wiring these up. Which wires go where? Many thanks, carl

my auto box still stuck in 2nd gear , did a diag and it came up with speed sensor i got a new one ,replaced it , car still the same.. my mechanic says its the selenoids , can some one poing me in the right direction as to which selenoids it might be so i can try and order them?? any help appreciated...

I am going to remove the quaint but naff tweed trim from my zed. Whats the best way to peel it off the plastic fittings and stuff, use warm water and soap..?

Hi to all Believe it or not i have a problem :hyper: . I have recently bought a jap import lwb tt auto, G plate, & its in for a new centre bearing, being fitted tomorrow. Now, when talking to the fitter today he tells me there were no spacers fitted between the bracket & floor. Now according to the tech index they should be there so my question is this. Do all zeds have these spacers fitted irrispective of where the come from & if so does anyone know the size they should be as i obviously dont want to f**k another bearing. Any help apreciated. Ok where do i start? When i start my car it ticks over great,i can sit there revving it till im blue in the face (once warm of course) the trouble starts when i try to pull off it just wont :shock: It just fooks and farts like theres no fuel getting to it. Where do i start to look? Thanks guys. Steve.

Sometimes when i first start my car it idles and then sounds like the engine is going to cut out and then it starts to rev up to about 2000rpm by itself and then it starts to drop the revs until it sounds like it's going to cut out and then it revs up again?? Any ideas?

Hi Guys, The picture below, in the passenger footwell, is that the car's ECU? How easy is to replace and what should I go for? Do I need to get it professionally mapped? How much am I looking at?

I have a feeling my head gasket's blown but before i start crying, what are the major symptoms like smell, discolouring etc... i replaced some of the water pipes over the weekend and for a couple of days it ran l ike a dream! then today when i started accelerating, the engine temp guage just went up and up so i stopped suddenly, turned it off and there was a lot of smoke coming from somewhere in the engine...couldn't quite work it out. whether it was coming from one of the pipes we'd fitted on the weekend or whether it's something a lot more serious!! Any help appreciated! Thanks Jim.
