General Discussions - 300ZX Related

This warning came up on my dash this evening...'LIGHTS'...checked all my lights and they seem to be fine...i'm assuming it's a brake or reverse light but i haven't checked yet... also...the battery light is slightly on when i drive...but seems ok. not sure why this is.

Seen Parked Up In Braintree, On Monday, Around Midday.

Sometimes my car stalls when turning a corner. Any ideas on why this is.

The other day i noticed that a pipe was leaking coolant from near the top hard pipe. So ive taken the engine to bits, just have a few questions. lol 1. If i were to flush the engine which hole do i put the hose pipe in the right the left or the middle oval one? 2. where will i get the small rubber hoses from that go on the left and right pipe? Just nissan or do any people on here sell them? This is mine The split doesn’t seem to go right through but i can find were else it would be leaking. Rad. I take it the pipes on the left side are gearbox oil cooler pipes? 1. If i got an aftermarket oil cooler what do i do with these pipes? D…

Whilst fitting some neons in the footwells of my car I noticed that there is a microswitch that is operated by the throttle pedal, anyone know what this does??? Scotty

Hi guys, the full beam bulb has gone in the passenger headllight, seems to be a bit of the wiring loom in the way stopping me from getting the bulb out......how do I change it without breaking anything? Daz.

My car is an tt man and a uk spec: now then, i have just asked my chap who is under the car right now to plug up the rear oil diff cooler as it is cream crackerd and leaking, and also not needed,now thats done, can someone tell me,where to and how much and whats the best fluid for this job please? :)

right, heres a question where can i get my zed remapped? got used to it now and its running hardly any boost at all, i mean like 10psi! which for the spec is peanuts, would really like to turn up the boost and make some more power so where would be good either near colchester or kent and what sort of work/prices would be involved? ideas please!

my car seems to be running a lot quicker the last few days in this weather... i can feel an improvement in response. i was on a roundabout today and a boxster was coming off given the big i am, i got around the roundabout and passed him as he was overtaking, showing him who the boss really was lol

Hi all Im running 14psi boost on (i think) what is a stock clutch. I've been caining the car over the weekend and now the clutch is slipping at high revs on high boost (works ok still on low boost). Due to the high tyre grip in the hot weather there was more pressure on the clutch than ever no i'm not really suprised. The biting point of the clutch pedal is right at the top and always has been so a new uprated clutch will be needed soon anyway but i was wondering if i could adjust the pedal to fix the problem on a temp basis or am i totally screwed?

Afternoon guys, I recently took the plunge and got myself a 300ZX. It came with the Ferrari tail light conversion. One thing I noticed was that there doesn't appear to be any reverse lights at all! I've heard a few whispers that Reverse lights are not part of the MOT but it seems a bit wierd not to have them! Is this something I can safely ignore (Except when reversing maybe) or should I investigate getting something put in. Cheers Guys!

You can get these bottle of stuff that you put in the oil prior to an oil change, run the engine for 5 mins then turn of and do the oil change with a lot more gunk coming out. Are these degunk things worthwhile. I ask as i have waited to long for an oil change and i will do one tonight but i would like to get as much crap out as possible.

Ant here (hunniepies dude). As with quite a few Z's i've heard of recently, we seem to have a power steering/hi cas prob with our Z. We found out wot the prob is and got the part but now need some advice !!! Does anyone know how i can change the main hose for the power steering without the engine coming out ??? Or if not where i could find a manual or advice on this !!!! Thanks :cool:

will be changing my diff oil but which oil do peeps recommend ?? redline 75w90, royalpurple 80w/90 silikolene syn 5 75w/90 is there any benefit in using these more expensive oils or would any normal gear oil be as good ?? also is it 3.1 or 2.1 litre for a j spec tt thanks in advance.

CHi ya, I hope you do not mind me joining the site, I will confess to being an MR2 owner, no not got lost just chasing the above and heard of a trader from this site who might be able to help.....can anyone help me find a solenoid for a Blitz Dual Solenoid Boost Controller, Ive got the control unit but no solenoid and I hear a guy called Johnny from GPS might be able to help ? has anyone got a link or contact for him please ? Has anybody changed the 2 bushes in the rear hubs the one the rear upper arms connects too and the one the small link[traction ] arm connects two .Ive changed all 3 hub bushes on a s13 200sx before 3 because no hicas not too bad to change hole cutter to take centre out then hacksaw to remove the outer steel bush shell then chisel the shell out.But the 200 sx has cast iron hub not alloy like the zed .Ive changed the small link arm bushes sub frame end with powerflex bushes and fitted cusco rear upper arms .thanks taff.
