Was travelling along the A46 dual carriageway and got the chance to power away and a large plume of smoke came out the back end, 'Oh, dear!' I thought, 'I may have blown a turbo!' So kept the speed down, and didn't notice any problems with the engine in any way, so when i got to my destination I left her running and checked all round her. No oil leaks, no smell of burning oil from either zorst, but there was smoke coming from underneath her! Anyway, that was the other week, I've had her up on ramps since then and, although we could see signs of oil, couldn't see anywhere that it might be coming from! But it is defo landing on the Cats, hence the burning. Did the same …

I need your help guys and gals. I started exploring Dare Alloys and Azevs however the waiting times are a bit long as I need a full set sooner than later. However, can you all give me some steer and recommend alloys with a fair bit of deep dish with 5 or even 6 spoke design. I am hoping for 19 inches. Ok, before everyone recommends Racing Hart and the exotics beyond my financial means, I was hoping for to buy them with a budget of about £1500 with tyres, ie. poor man's alloys range. Any ideas and recommendations and also a supplier would be extremely grateful. Thanks...

Hello I have a z31 1989 3.0 i V6 turbo which does not boost. The engine does all the work. Can't work out why, the boost gauge moves etc and I can hear the turbo whistle up but no power comes from it. Also there seems to be a samll miss on the ngine like one cylinder is not running fully. Could some body also confirm where the oil pressure should be because currently it is below 30 when warm and does not rise when the car is throttled. Its my first z car and has never boosted at all. The car doesnt smoke or burn oil. It currently feels like its only running 110 bhp which is slightly disheartning. Can some one help?????? Shab :xxx:

Last weekend I finally managed to get the gearbox back in after replaceing my clutch with a OS Giken one. Due to me having little time to work on car I now have to put everything else back in position, but now have a stoopid problem - the clutch fork is stuck in the backwards (free) postion, I cannot even get the hydrolic cylinder back in position its that far back. If I try lever the fork backwards (towards the rear of car) it just bends? whats going on :wack: lol. anyone know! cheers

Hi guys, ive been thinking about getting a grounding kit but what id really like to know is what advantages do they give? Ive read on afew websites that they can give upto a max of 8bhp, but that was on a subaru wrx. The reason why im after one is because everytime we get in / out of the car we get an electric shock. Would a grounding kit eliminate this? Ive also read that this improves engine response, smooth idling and an improvement on fuel econemy. Does a grounding kit really do all this? Whats peoples thoughts on these as i know alot of you have them? Many thanks. Rob

Hey guys I have an HKS BOV on my 91 Auto Twin Turbo. I just noticed today it was not making any noise. Any ideas on why this would happen. I have tried revving the engine in park and letting off the accelorator and still no noise. I have been driving it and given it some foot and let off and no noise. Any ideas on what would make it stop working.

Hi, I had a clifford alarm fitted last week and the fitter removed the drivers side A pillar to fit the alarm's antenna. This A Pillar has my Defi guages on it and now the A Pillar is hanging down as the clips are not clipping back into place. The clips dont look broken, ive tried to bend them out a little bit but they are not clipping in. Do these clips clip into anything special or just the hole in the pillar? I might need some new clips, does anyone have any? Colin

I was under the bonnet today and came accross 2 empty plug sockets near the hicas gear. I was wondering what are these for? and should there be anything conected to them (if anything)? If there should be something connected to either of them, can this cause any problems? I dont supose this has anything to do with the car being a manual does it as our auto zed has both of these connected to something? Any help is much appreciated as usual :D See attached piccys.

Can anyone tell me what position the pcv hose goes that links the plenum to the passenger side outer rocker cover. What I mean is that there is a small penny washer inside the hose that sits about 40 mm from one end of the hose, does that go against the plenum or at the rocker cover side. Cheers John Crisp

is this normal? got a short shift and a veilside aluminium knob. the gaiter does not reach the knob and the exposed bit of shaft (can you dig it? :) ) gets pretty hot, almost too hot to touch for an extended time. Wrong oil maybe. Gear change is nice and fluid, appart from the usual part time 4th syncro and can't seem to get into 2nd without stopping when totally stone cold.

Well moving on again from the "CRANK SENSOR TEST" thread. I decided to strip the car back to view the timing belt. When I removed the covers I had good feel at the belt and found that it was stripped at the bottom pulley as V6Power and AndyP suggested. Although the belt is still there and tight it just seems to have sheared a light strip off. Take a look, RED CIRCLE shows the the belt itself, and the RED SQUARE shows the part thats stripped!!
