hi, i have just joined, i do not yet own a 300, but i am in search of one.... im looking for a non turbo as i dont want my insurance to be too painfull :wack: (as im still 20) i currently own a toyota mk1 mr2, but want to upgrade... as i do not know a lot about thease cars i thought this would be the best place to find out, an perhaps even find what im looking for :) thanks, dan :cool:

Can anyone tell me if tt front discs are the same as na ? I bought a pair of good used G3 front grooved ( 10 ) discs and tried fitting them but came to the conclusion that tt discs are thicker,,,,,,,,,,, is this so ? If they are the wrong ones , i will put them up for sale in the for sale section :(

Hi , does anyone know what size car cover ( outdoor ) I should buy ? Or is there a reasonably priced supplier that supplies a cover to fit my Z ( with a large rear spoiler ).... ( has anyone got a decent car cover, where did you get it, how much etc.... ) cheers Andy....

As above chaps and chapets :) only need the loan of one as my Zed is in the local garage on Thursday for ripping the entire Hicas system out and the SPL hicas eliminators I sell are just being shipped out now, so iffy if it will be here in time. My car runs totally brilliant, no smoke nothing, making good power but obviously we knew something was wrong. Anyway i bought a leakdown tester to see exactly where its losing pressure and whats needed to rebuild it back to 100% Was a real eye opener did a compression test first and all were 160 psi with the engine being cold but number 4 was at 90 odd so i knew that something was wrong there anyway but then we did the leak test and 1,2,3 were all perfect no valve leaks, ring leaks, headgasket leaks etc, did number 4 and we expected a bad result and as we expected went straight down into the red and you listen to where the leak is coming from. I have a problem with the speedo in my '92 UK spec 300ZX auto, it suddenly dropped to zero shortly into my journey, flicked back up to show the correct speed a couple of times before dropping down to zero & staying there permanent. Without the speedo the power steering cuts out after a short time & the HICAS lamp comes on. I have replaced the speed sensor on the auto gear box to no avail & tried a new speedo unit to no avial. Last weekend I jacked the rear of the car up & measured the ac voltage out of the sensor whilst in gear, ranged from about 1v rms to 3v rms depending on speed. Checked I was getting the same out of the 2 pins on the connector tha…

Thinking of uprating the suspension but do i need to buy new poly bushes also? Can i just buy uprated and lower springs as mine does sit a little high? Also budget tight so nothing too pricey? Ta

As the engine is out it makes sence to rebuild the engine but what is actually needed? i want to hold big hp, the tubs which are on order should hold between 550-600bhp ish. I know the obvious parts which need replacing but what about other bits. I've been looking on sites do i need to replace any of the following? Valve Springs Titanium Retainers Valve Guides Crankshaft Master Valves

currently i have Dump valves on the turbo pipes at the top of the engine. If i was to remove these and connect the standered wastegates back up would it make the cool wastegate sound rather than the dump valve noise? Also what are the best? My brother done this on his 200sx and his wastgates sound awesome and they are standered.

Done a search on this and seems as usual there is a problem with camber when lowering . Adjustables sort this! Problem is mine is standard ride height,standard rims and is running bad negative camber to the point were the inner 60mm of the tyres are slicking out with thousands of miles left on the rest of them. I know it can run out with age and a mechanic friend has suggested that if it is original front shockes and springs they may just be knackered and causing the problem. Anyone think this is correct or is there a more sinister problem going on?

Silver Z 4exhausts near BP hounslow west heading towards Feltham went round the roundabout twice, Z moved very quick must say sounded good too. We was parked up in BP red Z and Purple/Blue Z Yesterday.

ive got a set of bilstein shocks on the front an on one the bottom bush has gone the shocks part number is 636 1481 h001 would i be able to get a new bush or have i gotta get a new shock?

Anybody know who supplies the series 1 replacement spoiler the cheapest. Got a price of £175 but sure i saw them for £125 some were?

My water pump has just gone pop,shit and steam everywere. Hope i have not cooked it. Got off the road and switched it off asap. Anybody had one replaced and how much did it cost? Mine is an NA so not sure if it is the same as the tt or maybe maxima?

Stupid question probably. Are these all diifferent so that I can check the correct engine is in my car or do they just indicate the engine type ie.twin turbo or NA etc. Also where is it to be found I don't have my car at the mo but will be checking it on tuesday. Sorry if this is genuinely silly!! Rob
