Could this mean that the TPS is causing the hesitation when pulling off from standstill. I pulled it out and although it idled rougher, the revs were up and not the slightest hesitstion? Any help thanks

Ok I know I've posted about this a few times but it's driving me nuts! My Intake sprockets rattle for a period during warm up. Not straight away, but after around 30 seconds. The period it lasts for can vary between a minute to ten minutes. Sometimes restarting the car can clear it, sometimes not. So far I've tried the following: Uprated VVT srings from JWT Thinner oil (10w 40) just made it louder. Different cam sprockets(second hand). Still the damn things rattle! All this started after I had the engine rebuilt. They were silent before that which makes me think that we are installing them wrong but I can't see how, it's just one bolt and a dowel pin. A…

Hi all, My mate has lost his car keys and has no spare. He has no idea what happens in this situation and I am not sure myself. I suspect he will have to get all the locks changed and a brand new set of keys. Am I right on this? Its a 10 year old Astra if that helps? Justin:)

Whats the best way to clean the sensors???

Any ideas guys. When the car is cold, it revs just right and pulls off nicely. When warmed up , the revs drop and idles weirdly and car hesitates for a sec at pull off?? Please help

Are they exactly the same and perfectly interchangable or do they have different PCDs, bore, etc or different wheel width or something? ie could i stick jap 300zx std wheels on my uk model?

:dance: took about an hour and a half - and most of that was fiddling with a couple of hard-to-get-at nuts and trying to splice some wire together. otherwise it was a simple job, and im no DIY guy! just a question - when the headlights are switched on, the inverter (the little black box) makes a faint high-pitched whistling noise. is this normal? the rear panel seems to work fine - the sun's out so i had to put a thick jacket over my head to see it working. it seems to be quite dull in colour but when compared to the stock picture it seems to be ok. i'll get another picture when its dark tonight. the cool thing is that the light is exactly the same colour as my car!…

I've come across two diagnostic software for the zx. The one from DTA motorsport called Conzult diagnostic (315 EUR) and one from Concept Z performance called BlaZt consult ($149.99). Is there anyone that has tried or know something about these softwares and could recomend one..?

Hi all. I've been having a couple of issues over the last few months that are mainly niggles, since ztech (thankyou) fixed the major bits. My speedo works intermittently (it's not the speed sensor, ztech checked it); it mainly does one of the following 4 things: Stays at 0. Stays at 180+ Reads speed between 100 and 160 (when driving normally :) ) Sticks at 60 or 120. I'm pretty sure that it's just the loom between the speed sensor and the clocks, as it works when it's been dry for a while and also when wiggled a lot. Additionally, just recently I've noticed that either my fuel consumption has gone mad, or the odometer isn't working. So far I've ha…

Well yesterday after coverering plenty of miles running in i thought, nows probably a good time to lean on this motor a bit and make sure its running correct under some boost! Currently its just set at 7psi, so i give it some WOT from 3k - 4.5k, boost was good 7psi, it pulled ok, but it felt a bit weak! Didnt think nothing of it as im used to it being at 15psi so didnt expect it to be anything too impressive but i did expect more with having gt2530s on there now. Anyhow, later on in the day i thought, i'll give it another pop, and go a bit higher in the rpm range, so..foot down, 3k just creeping into positive boost, 4k niceley sat at 7psi, 5k OMFG!!! all he…

Hi people, I'm breaking my ZX :cry: and needed abit of advice on something. There is a 200sx owner who called me up asking for all the brake discs and calipers as these are an upgrade to his car. He is also after my brake master cylinder. Now I'm not sure how much these are worth due to me being abit of a novice on parts at the moment. But these parts on my car are in excellent nick. So just wanted to know how much you guys recon these are worth or how much I should charge him for these parts. Any help would be appreciated guys. Thanks in advance. :D

HI there Just got my car back from the mechanic as it was hesitating badly on pull off. Said he fixed the TPS. I drove home and all was fine but when I went for another ride but few mins after I got home, the old problem was back??? IS it possible for the TPS to have maybe shifted arpund while driving and therefore cause more problems??? This mechanic is going to think that I am a crack it was working fine till I got home??? Please help someone
