General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Ok just pulled engine due to replacing the wiring harness and the rear turbo cooling line bursting. Put it back in and it wants to crank but it won't. It ran fine before and it's getting fuel and spark just won't start long enough to idle. What could this be? The new harness has a connector that the old one didn't so it's not plugged in but other then that I have no clue. Please any help would be great

My zeds got a really horrible vibration on braking so time for new discs I think. Can't see anything obviously wrong with any of them so I was just gonna get fronts first and then rears if I need them. I've got the 350 track pack setup on the front, but what discs/pads should I get? EBC? Brembo? Or should I just get OEM from Nissan? Only for street use, I won't be taking it on track. Thanks!

As per the title, is anyone else on here running a Haltech ecu?

Whilst I have been having some work done on the house the Zed, has been on the drive. It has been connected to a trickle charger, but I went to move it today and just got a click from the motor. I pulled my DD along side and tried to jump her, but still joy. If the battery had a duff cell or is knackered would it be enough to stop it from being jump started? Can't bump start her as shes on the drive, which slopes. Any otherideas before I go buy a new battery? As I want to get her in the garage soon. Cheers.

Hi I had a nistune board fitted and tuned to my auto TT. When taking out the standard ecu we saw it had been changed at some point to a manual ecu, the tuner said it shouldn't be a problem for the gearbox as the 300 has a seperate ecu for it, is this true? I don't seem to have any issues with abrupt changes or the like, maybe just shift points seem to take a bit longer than i would expect but as this is my first 300 and auto i don't relly know how it should feel. Had to take the Z to work today. Put my heater control to 40! Auto. outside temp in Folkestone 3C trouble is my intererior never gets really warm! I would have thought at that setting I should be sweating! Never understand the heating controls tbh! I know theres info on the controls but why is it I get very little heat? Could the matrix be blocked? Its a pita to change! or thermostat? No leaks or loss of water. Any ideas please

I figured it would be a good idea to fit braided FUEL lines as i've heard the rubber ones can crack or whatever, and i have to take them off anyway. I saw brightFAME's guide from a couple years back with his red connecters which would suit my colour scheme. Where have other people got them, they are around $85 on Z1 without postage. If i feel really cheap i could get them from ebay for about £10 but I don't trust the quality of the ebay specials as you can understand. Is there somewhere i can get them cheaper than Z1, tbh its just a stainless hose with connectors on the end. ** UPDATED to say FUEL rather than BRAKE. :)

Where' the best place to get coil pack connectors? Zcentre? USA?

I presume the seals have gone, clutch goes almost to the floor and i can't get it into gear. I can see there is a little oil on the lever inside the car to. So to add to the list already building, this has to be sorted. I've only ever tackled this on a motorbike's brake system and that isn't too tricky. A quick look on Ebay and i saw a couple, should i go for a particular make? I'm starting to lose faith in this car! :( Thanks

Got my log book back with the new reg number on and just ordered the new plates in old legal fronts 305x75mm (12x3 inch) rear 203x152mm (8x6inch)

I had a little job to do in me changing the indicator on my door mirror and I wasn't aware you could remove just the housings without taking the door card off, etc, and then remove the all shebang....but you can. First get some strips of rag and then pull off the mirror, mine is the heated type so hence the two wires in the 2nd pic and just leave this dangling if you don't want to unplug that is. There are now six screws to remove, 3 on the top and 3 on the bottom, you can remove these with the window up with a normal length screwdriver but of course the mirror needs to be in the 'out' position. hi guys i have just read the info on replacing fuel pipes which i am going to do on my z, it doesnt say what the different pipe sizes are, can anyone tell me what the internal pipe sizes are please i will need to order some regards bigmo

Well my zeds now formally booked for end of Feb for its rust problem, as it needs both sills arches and the door looked at, as well as the new bumpers, and skirts, it doesn't leave much of the original car, so it's now changing colour... 99 spec front, with a black car.mad lip Kaminari side skirts and twin z lip, Twin z rear Wheels refurbished in anthracite And the body in OE Nissan EJ0 gold like I wanted to paint my old zed. Decided it's still Nissan, but different without being too loud. If anyone has any thoughts suggestions or reasons not to I'd like to hear, but I'm pretty set on the idea now, and our bodyshop are game.
