Well after much soul searching I have decided to go all out on a car that I have hankered after for years but has always been out of reach...pictures below! I know this won't go down well with everyone here, but you have to admit it looks slightly better than a standard one. Picking it up tomorrow. :hyper: Obviously this means that the Zed is for sale see here...at least I have a pretty obvious genuine reason for the sale!

HI ;more questions on Turbos.. Hybrid T25/T28 Turbos :Are they any good to replace standard Garrets on a Z32 manual? Are they able to be fitted straight on? Would these Hybrids be better in any way to standard auto turbos?

Hey guys, havent been on the net now since about christmas, but the time hasnt been all that bad seeing as ive got my self a new 300! :hyper: It was for sale on this forum but it wasnt in quite as good condition as claimed.......Sooo now im in the process of tidying it up, and improving performance + looks as i go :D One major thing that p'ed me off was the fact that ive only had it about 5-6 weeks + i need a new clutch! I have to say, ive really really enjoyed the whole experience of driving the Fairlady! Its standard power is brutal! Any tips on things to look out for?

  6. I have a very odd situation. Let me start by saying I thought I was in safety boost as I was only boosting to 7psi. However ECU diagnostics ran all clear (55). As everyone knows in the Safety Boost scenario the ECU changes the fuelling maps and limits the boost levels. The Wastegate Solenoids do the boost limiting. Normally the ECU earths the circuit (through pin 25) in order to turn them on (normal boost), and 'floats' the earth in safety-boost to turn them off. They are "ON" (normal boost) when: - Engine is running - TPS voltage is above 0.1v - No Detonation - Coolant is above 55 degrees Now I have run Datascan and everything operates as it …

  7. Hi all, My 300zx is running pretty rough. The idle has always been low and lumpy since i bought it a year ago. Last month the radiator went so i dropped it into nissan, while it was there i got them to do a service and look at the idle problem. They adjusted it up to about 850/900. It was fine for a day or so but now its worse than before. its ok on start up but after 5 mins of driving it is like its not firing on all cylinders. when driving at over 2500/3000 revs it runs perfectly. As soon as i coast or stop its rough again. This has all happened since nissan adjusted the idle. Ive got it booked into a pretty good tuning garage next thursday and would like some…

Greg stated in a previous thread about checking marks on pulleys line up - I done this and photos are attached - Im pretty sure it hasnt jumped a tooth. You can see the position of my cas to get 15-16 deg tho - it should be central. Does this mean I could have a buggered cas? Secondly - under the throttle body theres a small pipe with nothing attached (you can see this in the 2nd picture just above the cambelt) - should this be plugged or anything?

Ive just fitted a scorpion exhaust to the zed and after a couple of hours i noticed a lot of smoke coming out of the drivers side. this only happens when the car is sitting at the lights or ticking over for about 30 seconds. i had a play with the boost about a week ago and shes been running great. I reckon ive blown the seals on the drivers side turbo or they've gone due to the loss in back pressure after fitting the scorpion exhaust. the car is running very rich as the exhausts were very sooty after a few blasts out in her, so i dont think i could have killed any internals(hope not). Other than the smoke shes running great Can i get the turbo off…

So next week at japfest i'm going out on the track for my first session. I'm really worried i'm going to do some damage to the car so any tips on prepping the car for the day? It's on stock suspension and brakes but the brakes are relatively new and the pads were only replaced a couple of thou ago. Any way of improving cooling on the stock rad seeing as my koyo isn't going to be here in time? (e.g. cutting holes in a spare nosepanel etc) I'll be doing a full oil/filter change before i go down. Coolant flush was done just after christmas. Is it worth lowering the car before i go (e.g. i was planning on fitting einbach springs but haven't had the m…

whats the best way of testing injectors? While car is running do you just put a screwdriver on each, other end to your ear and listen for a steady ticking? is there any way of telling if they are breaking down or clearing up at higher rpm's? I have conzult free and datascan - I can isolate cylinders 1 by 1. Car seems to hesitate until sort of 3rd gear high revs then it stutters and just flies. Like something has just cleared itself out.
