Just returned! Put £60 in the tank and managed to do 550 kilometers, what is that MPG? She drove down lovely, not a problem at all, part from the tax disc flying out of the car on the M62 cos I had the roof off and the holder fell off!!!! Only taxed her last month!

The release has gone on my petrol cap door? I need somone to open the door while I hold the release inside the car down, it wont swing upen by itself? any ideas? Cheers Pete

Hi folks, Am replacing tired shocks with kyb's. Fronts are done ok. (eventually after seized piston nuts) Am having real trouble in removing bottom nut on rear shock. There doesn't seem enough room to get socket & ratchet on. Can't get enough grip with a ring spanner. Has anyone got around this problem. i've looked at various write ups without success. Have had enough for today and am going to try again next weekend. :cry: Any advice greatly appreciated cheers nick

no plate ending in CLH going down Tooting high road towards Bec on Sat around 1.30ish....was full on giddy at seeing another Zed! Espesh amongst all the wanna-be's in their M3s!

Last night my car performed well at 15psi in 1st, 2nd and 3rd right up to the red. However in fourth on full boost the car became very hesitant and started to jerk slightly as though it wasnt getting enough air or fuel... I then pulled over and opened the bonnet, the car was rough idleing and had some smoke coming from area where i think one of the turbos is (near the bulk head, drivers side). I let the car run for about ten minutes and the smoke ceased and the revs settled. Does anybody have any ideas about what was going on....???

Ive had fitted a blitz dsbc controller, tried to set it up with the boost gauge but regardless what setting I used the boost would go to 1.2bar, read a few of the old posts around the forum and went to check if the stock solenoids were still connected...they were,pulled the plugs and went for a run, tried all 4 preset boost settings (i set to 40 50 60 70 for test purposes) but now the car wont boost above 0.5bar...any ideas guys???? thx u ;)

can anyone tell me what te power switch does on an auto tt plz i havent got a manual sorry :))

Hi Guys, Noticed the intake/turbo pipes onmine are passed the best one having a split in it which might be loosing me valueable boost. Wheres the best place to get these from, not bothered about anything too fancy would even consider good second hand ones if anyone has upgraded theirs recently.

hi peeps just recieved my twin air filter from the states and fitted it yesterday took the zed out for a spin and she seems to be holding back when i accelerate and doesnt seem as rapid as when i had a single air filter on ( k&n ) the exhaust note has changed and she seems to idle ok but im stuck as to what to do...when i was at the zed weekend a few weeks ago i had a conzult check done and it came up with the o2 sensors were not working correctly so the guy disconnected them and when i took the zed out for a spin after she went like a stabbed rat ( crotchrocket can confirm this lol ) any ideas as im properly pissed off as the twin filter looks awesome peeping throu…

After trying to help jimmer out with an ecu quiestion I remembered that I had a PDF version of the workshop manual. I have uploaded the individual PDF files to a free file hoster. andy had a look at my car today, he diagnosed a leaky air speed regualting valve and a knacked 02 sensor, he also found some pipes on the wrong way round and my throttle bodies werent working properly the car is running a 100% better than it ever has he is also a top bloke, such a pleasure to meet, even his bird saz (fairladyzxgirl) is a nice pleasent person lol :D what a nice set of people they are, would recommend duffy to work on anyone's car cheers andy you aere a star

i expect some stick for having an mx6 however i need to know whether its a big job to fit a clutch, whether you need to drop the box ect. This car is lovely and will be up for sale once a clutch is fitted. If any one is interested. Its a mx6 2.5lt v6 24valve in maroon/red its in amazing condition inside and out and runs like a dream. It will be up for £1450 in the trader but if any members are interested I will let it go for £1250. Keep an eye out on cars for sale over the next day or two.

Looking for some experienced advice - has anyone swapped shells on a Z? I have some sill work to do but would rather start with a rust free shell. What is the biggest challenge in doing this job?

When my dad switches the lights on in his zed, they 'pulsate', like they are constantly flashing quite quickly - but they are not flashing they are only dimming ever so slightly (hence the phrase pulsating). Apologies if that sounds stupid but i am struggling to put the problem into words. It has done it since he owned the car it is not a new problem. And it is not just the headlights, it is all the lights including interior speedo head lights etc.... Any idea what it is and what has to be done? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Does anyone do rear arch extensions for the ZX, don't want to go a full wide arch kit due to the amount of work involved and especially the cutting away of the original arches... I seem to remember a two tone black/blue one posted up some time which looked really nice, I think it was from a US site originally... Any help most appreciated, Thx Lee

guys something's happened to the zed sounds just like the cat has packed in like an exhaust grating noise, but the worry is loads of grey smoke out the back end, get the rattling noise as you ease off the throttle just happened , any idea's is this wallet failure time again

Silver NA, Orrell, Wigan. May have been grey, couldn't tell 'cos it was dark. Looked standard apart from red wheels. :/

ok just had a baby 3 weeks ago i have 3 daughters already and getting them in the zed is difficult so i advertised it but drove it down to paignton about 150 mmiles and had the most fun just toying with other cars !! can anyone suggest something quick but slightly more practical or am i just kidding myself ?????

fitted the apexi intake today with DTA's excellent guide. Bottom bolts were a pain, good job I have small hands, came off in one piece. After fitting Crapped myself whilst out for a spin, was doing about a tonne on my private track and thought someone was beeping their horn at me. Happened a few times thought something was wrong with ladyz. reading through past posts is goose honk. Is this right? Next question : auto coolers. which one's best ? are they easy to install?

Is anybody here able to give me the ecu pin numbers for the black wires that run to the o2 sensors.i believe 29 and 55 are the red and black wire nos for left and right hand.My cars not reading the r/h sensor at all.the sensors fine as its new.im gonna need a loom eventually but if i can get round it for now by running some new wires in that would be great as the baffles are dropping in the exhaust and id rather put the money towards that, then do the dreaded loom change later.

Ello all, just joined up and purchased a Zed. 1990 3L NA 300ZX Fairlady Man Pearl White Targa top. Imported back in 03, 86k on the clock with 1000 done in last 12mths. Comes complete with all Jap documentation, original UK paperwork, Titanium car, Fairlady mats, Targa bags, and sun covers oh and the raod flare :) Awesome condition, no rust anywhere, just a little paint has flaked off the spoiler and the drivers bolster ripped (common in believe) Has a full stainless steel system with set of 17's with new rubber.
